Dockside Marina Light Lager

Dockside Pelican Bay Brown
More peaty, Sulphur aroma than a Lagavulin or Smokehead whisky. Very light, whispy creamy head and a dark brown slightly clear coloring. Tangy on the tongue, stale cigarettes, light bodied, no lasting after taste apart from old bonfire. Disappointing porter or brown ale as it is classified as.

Dockside Harvest Hefeweizen
Aroma is lots of cloves overpowering anything else that might be there. Has a deep clear brown body and modest foam, an odd colour for a hefe but it sure is pretty. Flavour is a mix of cloves and malt, reasonably balanced. Mouthfeel is medium but not crisp. This is a strange experiment that I don't find myself liking.

Dockside Octoberfest Special
On tap at the restaurant. Has an aroma of very soft malt, maybe a hint of cola. There's soft white foam with a darker semi-clear brown liquid. Flavour is good breadiness, biscuit and dry wafer, charming in that department at least. There's a watery palate which is silly, a beer like this should be sharp and bone dry on the mouth. This is not firing on all cylinders.

Dockside Cartwright Pale Ale
Aroma is soft malts and nothing else. Has a good lighter copper body and minimal head. Flavour is soft sweet grains. Mouthfeel is weak and semi-watery. This is too sweet and no crispness, not my kind of beer.

At Dockside. More ale then IPA, meaning it has more of UK flare. Backbone of malts and bread notes. The hops come through as more of a bittering element, adding some balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Dockside, pours a clear dull cope with a tiny head. Nose brings out skunky vegetal notes and herbal qualities. Flavour is almost sour, with herbal notes and boiled vegetables. What the fuck are they thinking selling this shit? Really bad.

Dockside Old Bridge Dark Lager
On tap at Dockside, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out tart notes, some roast and cocoa. Flavour brings out chocolate, roast and some unpleasant tart notes that shouldn’t be there. Palate is nice and thick, but the off notes kill what would be this brewery’s best beer (though that’s not saying much). Quite poor.

Dockside Pelican Bay Brown
On tap at Dockside, pours a hazy dark amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out notes of toasted nuts and light cocoa. Flavour brings out bitter cocoa powder and stale toasted nuts. It’s got that stale quality that they all have had so far. Not offensive but pretty weak and amateurish.

Dockside Cartwright Pale Ale
On tap at Dockside, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is very bland, with subtle notes biscuity malt. Flavour doesn’t strike me as much of a pale ale - there are some subtle fruity notes and not a whole lot else. Lifeless beer with not much character. Bad.

Dockside Johnston Pilsener
On tap at Dockside, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is nearly non-existent. Flavour doesn’t taste like a pilsner - weird subtle notes of skunky grass are in there somewhere. Not a whole lot of character. Not as offensive as the regular lager, but still pretty bad.

On tap at Dockside, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of corn and straw. Flavour is bizarre, bringing out skunky vegetal notes. The skunky vegetal notes are overpowering. A macro light lager would be more pleasant than this shit.

Pint on tap at the brewpub pours a pale amber color with a small white head that leaves only small traces of lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild hops and caramel. Taste is a caramel malty sweetness with a mild hop bitterness. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Very light in body and flavor compared to some of the northwest American pale ales from Washington and Oregon.
