Ellicott Mills Dunkel 3.7
On tap. Pours brown with a light tan head. Aroma is toasted malt with some dark fruit notes. Flavor is toasted malt with some very light roast, caramel, slight chocolate and dark fruit flavors. Crisp finish. Really nice, enjoyable Dunkel.

On tap at Ellicott Mills Brewing. Dark Brown with amber tint and white head. Roasted malt chocolate aroma. Sweet caramel malt and roasted malt flavor with hints of chocolate and coffee. Slight hop finish. Really like this brew.

Not that great, not that bad. The first time I tasted it I was told it was somewhat like a Fosters. I would put it on the same level as Foster’s but it tastes more like a staple European lager with not much aroma like Maartens or Stella Artois.

Draft. Pours dark black with ruby/brown edges and a finger of tan head. Nose was roasty black patent malt, mild nuts, hops. Tasted roasty malty, with some cacao and oaty notes in the finish. Somewhat lean of body and complexity.

This one missed the mark a bit for me. Poured ruby coppery. Nose was vinoius fruit, earthy malt. Tasted malty and grapey and earthy, but I tasted diacetyl in this.

Draft, and this was the highlight of the trip. Poured copper with off-white head. Nose was big caramel malt, huge piney and fruity hops. Tasted very hoppy, fruity, with a fairly dense and complex palate and a nice malt balance.

Ellicott Mills Sleepy Hallow Pumpkin Ale 3.2
Not a bad pumpkin ale. It was light orange with a cloudy appearance. The beer was served in a pint glass at the brewpub rimmed with a mix of nutmeg, sugar and cinnamon. The spices certainly added to the flavor. The bber itself was a bit lacking in flavor. I liked it, but without the spiced rim, it was a bit bland.
