Banana and clove show and never outshine the other... A little bit of pink bubblegum with warmth... Near perfect body... 3.8 TableRock Black Ale On tap at the BP served in a tulip. Black with a tan lasting head. Nice roasty aroma with notes of chocolate. Dark roast flavor, some coffee and bitter chocolate again. Very soft smooth palate, due to the nitro it was pushed with. Full bodied and smooth. Not sure why they don’t call this a stout. Also no sure if Ive had this before actually due to TRs thing about genericising their beer names. Maybe I’ll have the "Dry Mead" or maybe the "Pale Ale" next those sound so interesting.... 3.6 TableRock Double Chocolate Porter On tap at the brewpub. Black with a lasting creamy light tan head. Typical roasted coffee aroma. Like the previous rated mentioned, not a big chocolate slat, some sure but not worthy of calling it a double. Soft and smooth, and lots of nice roasted flavor. 3.5 TableRock Hophead IPA (Version 2.0) On Tap at the Brewpub (the oaked version on the "beer engine") Served on a tulip, deep orange amber with a dense lasting off-white head and heavy lacing coating the glass. Nice mostly piney hop aroma, The warmer temp and the oak, makes for a mellow, soft warm flavor. Significant vanilla and soft woody notes. The oak doesn’t come through like a tree branch, more like a soft blanket of woodiness that just calms everything down. Carbonation is a bit soft, of course that lends to the effect. Interesting. 3.1 TableRock Rye Extra Pale Ale On Tap at the Brewpub. Clear pale orange/straw color with a coarse fleeting off-white head. Crisp light malty aroma. very light, like pilsener-light. Flavor is a light sweet cereal, again pilsener-like. And even the bittering hop bite is also fairly Bohemian. More like a Pilsner that they hopped up a bit. Id like to see the malt bill on this. Good attenuation, dry quick finish but... did I mention "pilsener" ? Saturday, August 10, 2013 | |
