Ungstrup	2.6 Gettysbrew Dark Horse Draft at the brewpub, July 2006. The brewpub came into new ownership early 2006, so this is the same recipe but a different brewer from the two former ratings. A hazy amber beer with a dense brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, while the flavor is slightly acidic combined with light notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry end with notes of butterscotch. The mouthfeel is very smooth. Listed at 5.4% ABV. Thursday, January 4, 2007

A hazy amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also a light note of butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, and butterscotch as well as light notes of wood, leading to a dry and slighlty bitter end. Listed at 5.4% ABV. Thursday, January 4, 2007

A hazy light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of citrus and other fruits. The flavor is sweet citrusy, my first guess at the hop was fuggles, but it was Brewers Gold. A very easily drinkable beer - won’t offend anybody. Listed at 5.4% ABV. Thursday, January 4, 2007

LordHedgehog	3 Gettysbrew Black Knight More of a stout, really. Under no circumstances could this be called a barleywine. No real malt flavor, just a slightly sweet stout beer. Definately felt like I was getting taken for a ride paying twice as much as the other brews at this brewpub for what was a similar beer. Sunday, July 25, 2004

joeec5	0.5 Gettysbrew Black Knight flat.which i can stand in a good barleywine..but flat out terrible as well..this was the last one i tried on a 5 or 6 beer sampler...i was saving it for last because all of the others tasted like infected sugar water..all exactly the same,sour nonsense...as a fan of big beers i didnt think a barley wine could be so bad i could not drink it...it was the worst of all..undrinkable...tasted exactly like SOY SAUCE...i could have made a freakin stir fry with this stuff Sunday, July 18, 2004

Parrothead	0.7 Gettysbrew Big Red One Had a nice amber appearance, but that’s the good news. Thin, cidery, sour aftertaste. The server mentioned the use of hop oils [or was that on the menu?]which may account for the weird finish. obxdude10	1.2 Gettysbrew PA Blonde This was the best of the five I sampled & that isn't saying a whole lot, very undercarbonated, the flavors & body seemed flat although the beer arrived with a nice fluffy & bubbly white head, the head though totally disappeared within a couple minutes, the aftertaste was sour, no wheat qualities to the beer at all Monday, April 19, 2004
