Shortís Imperial Peaches and Creme 2.3
Poured an orange color with a white head. Aroma was of sweet peaches and cream, but it scares me because I have a feeling this may be a cloying mess. Yep, I was right, Flavor was very sweet lactose sugar, at least the peach taste real, but tough to get down more than a few ounce.

Shortís The Liberator 3.9
Draft. Hazy, dark gold. Malty, piney aroma. Malty, bitter, bitter palate. Not a citrusy, hoppy IPA. Not complex, just simple well-done bitterness.

Starcut Ciders Grandma Emmerickís Apple Pie 4
On tap at the brewpub. Golden with a small off-white head. Smells and tastes like apple pie. Nutmeg, cinnamon and apples. Just as advertised, with an underlying dryness to keep it from being overly sweet.

Shortís The Creepster Imperial Gose 3.6
Bottle. The pour is a golden orange. The aroma has a burst of different flavors. The taste is solid for a Gose, although I am not a fan. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shortís The Liberator 2.6
Aroma is malty, orange peel, lemon, pine, some kind of spice. Appearance is rust orange, light light beige head. Taste is spice, a weird savory spice that is immediately off putting, some pine, bitterness, tons of malt, not good. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, crisp carbonation, that horrible saltiness is lingering. Overall, this is completely missing the mark.

Shortís Love Knife 3.8
Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. Aroma is banana, other fruits, resin, citrus hops, and peppery notes. Flavor is more on the sweet side, banana, strawberry, fruit, and light peppery notes. I rather like this. Itís better than I imagined a Belgian-style amber would be.

Shortís Love Knife 3.5
Copper color with modest head and less cloudy than most Belgium brews. A good IPA...modified with the Belgium yeast.

Shortís Ale La Reverend 3
Aroma is light, tropical fruit, pine, malt. Appearance is amber yellow, white head, hazy. Taste is bitter, pine, slightly floral, some malt, mostly bitter hops. Mouthfeel is crisp carbonation but a somewhat creamy body, light to medium, with ad resounding bitter aftertaste. Overall, this isnít quite right for the style but is still quite drinkable.

Shortís Swirl Stout 4
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/30/2015. Pours pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of roast/bready malt and vanilla/cocoa/lactose notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness. Light-medium roast/char bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt and vanilla/cocoa/lactose flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roasted bitterness as well. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent milk stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt and vanilla/cocoa/lactose flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. This was very rich and robust for the ABV; and had a nice amount of soft serve ice cream feel to the flavors as well. A very enjoyable offering.

Shortís Love Knife 3.1
A rust color on the pour. Fruity and Belgian nose. A white pepper feel and tongue on the taste upfront. Banana flavors that last until the aftertaste. A hop note in the end. Unique.

Shortís Twisted Cain 3.2
My 100th Shorts brew! A dark dark brown color. A caramel and licorice nose. A syrupy texture and flavor that matches the nose. Not the most drinkable but unique. A fan of the bitterness.

Shortís Maple Bourbon Barrel Magician 3
bottle from a trade. poursa ruby red with a large off white head that dies quickly, almost in a loud and troublesome way. nose is inviting of candied fruits, roll ups, almost figs. not much maple or bourbon. taste has a bit of a carbonic bite. All I am really getting is a weirdly over carbonated malty ale. not my thing

chucklemation
Shortís Ale La Reverend 3.8
Pours a hazy yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is pine hops and lemony citrus, along with some floral and earthy notes in the mix. Flavor is pine and more lemony citrus (one reviewer notes a soapy aroma/flavor, and I wonder if the pine/lemon combo causes that association) with grassy notes in the finish. A touch sweet up front, with a dry lightly bitter finish. This is quite a good IPA.

Dogbrick
Shortís Swirl Stout 3.7
Sample at the "Black Friday 01" tasting on 01/22/2016. Pours a flat black color with a medium thick khaki head that dissipates gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of malt, chocolate and vanilla. Medium body with flavors of roast malt, sweet chocolate and vanilla. The finish is sweet and creamy with a chocolate vanilla aftertaste. Above average overall.

Shortís London Fog 3.5
Bottled. Pours copper color, small ring of off white head. Aroma is lots of caramel, dark fruits, maybe cherries, itís like a dubbel without the Belgian spice character. Flavor is similar. Malty, caramel, cherry. Itís good. I dunno if Iíd call it a brown ale though. Just an English style ale. Easy drinking.

Shortís Twisted Cain 3.3
Aroma is very porter-like, roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, maybe some hops, milk maybe, chocolate. Appearance is dark dark brown, light light tan head, poured incredibly thin. Taste is roasted malt, dark fruit, coffee, not incredibly complex. Mouthfeel is ridiculously thin, light to medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, as porters go, it?s about average.

Bottle shared with koleminer20, the last out of Dumpster Day box #1. Aroma is booze, nutty, slight maple, malt, not much else. Appearance is reddish brown, light brown head. Shortís Cinnabilly 1.7
12 oz bottle shared with ebone1988 out of Dumpster Box No. 1. The pour is a very red ruby color with a thin bubbly collar of white head and no lace. The aroma is, well, all cinnamon. There is nothing else. Cinnamon on top of cinnamon. Dopplebock my ass. The flavor is well, cinnamon and water. There is nothing else. It's horrific. Cinnamon and cinnamon. Shorts really missed the mark here. It's watery and carries no carbonation through the cinnamon. The aftertaste is all cinnamon and lingeringly cinnamon. Horse shit. This is gross. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shortís Swirl Stout 3.5
Pours a jet black with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, lactose, and some roasted malts. Flavor is sweet chocolate, roast, some vanilla. The lactose, or something else, leaves behind an unpleasant aftertaste. Otherwise this is pretty good.

Shortís Strawberry Shortís Cake 3.6
12 oz bottle shared with ebone1988 from Dumpster Box No. 1. The pour is a darker ruby color with a nice white bubbly head and a decent lace. The aroma is actually pretty good. There is a strong strawberry jam to go with a heavier biscuit tendency. Not the good angel food cake that I was hoping for, but it's surprisingly good. No real lactose is picked up. Just strawberry jam and biscuits. The flavor is decent, at first. The strawberry jam takes over pretty heavily. The biscuit and milk sugar aren't noticeable, however, there is a strong sweetness that throws everything off a little bit. It's like jammy water. The mouth feel is something else. It's thin and watery, but the carbonation falls off incredibly quickly. The aftertaste is layered. There is a decent jam at first, but then it moves to a sweetness, and then does some funky shit. It finishes overly sweet and almost like a spoiled milk. Not too bad, but there was a bit more hope for this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shortís Soft Parade 2.8
Muddled looking brown with light purple/red. Nose is wheat and fruit syrups. Taste follows. Kind of like a berlinerweisse with syrup, but without the tarness to cut it. Pretty gross...

Shortís Beer Grotto Raisin the Freak Flag Porter 3.6
For a Shortís beer this is a very laid back brew. The raisin flavors are there, subtle, but in the forefront. The trouble is that the dark malts that bring most porters flavor disappear to the background. Not really disappointed, just not as bold as Shortís usually goes.

All the aromas come through nicely along with candi sugar and light bourbon. Medium body. Very low carb. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. I liked this way more than I expected.

Occluded light brown pour, Half inch fluffy white head. Aroma of fresh orange juice, very citrusy hops, some pine and nuttiness, leans sweet but bitterness evident. Average carbonation, thicker oily mouthfeel, slightly dry finish. Flavor of bitter resinous pune, bit of nutty malt, juicy mosaic eucalyptus too, citrus zest. Really good one from shorts.
