deyholla

Lubiere
Royal Bavaria Munich Dunkel 1.5
A pale blonde lager with a thin white head. In aroma, grainy mineral malt with light German hops, faint. In mouth, a sweet adjunct laden lager with corn notes, no hops, just plain bad. Bottle from a local supermarket.

Royal Bavaria Gold 2.8
Pretty golden brew with a big bubbled, snow white head. Lightly flavored, lightly hopped, Iím lightly impressed. Pleasant, refreshing, goes down quickly, but not before the head dissapeared. still no defining characteristic

Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 2.9
Poured redish copper color with white head that hung around for a few minutes. Aroma was nice, kinda like a Jolly Rancher. Tasted dry with a wine like feel, not bad if you enjoy watered down wine. Overall I was fairly happy

bu11zeye
Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 2.6
(Draught) Pours a clear copper body with a medium white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted grain, and biscuit. Flavor of caramel, grain, and biscuit. My least favorite of their beers. Seemed like this beer was well past its prime.

bu11zeye
Royal Bavaria Weiss 3.5
(Draught) Pours a clear golden body with a medium white head. Aroma of wheat, banana, citrus, and clove. Flavor of banana, clove, citrus, and bread. It appears that the new brewer certainly upgraded their beers.

Royal Bavaria Dunkelweizen 2.6
[Tap] Good to see some new seasonal brews being produced at Royal Bavaria. Pours a clear nut brown color with about an inch worth of beige head. Aroma of cereal grains, wheat, vanilla and butter. The taste is dominated by a diacetyl/butter flavor that is typical in other beers by this brewer. Sweet light fruits, hazelnut and light clove notes as well. Less of a hefe yeast character than one might expect. Mediocre.

Royal Bavaria Mšrzen 3.1
[Tap] I was a little skeptical about this beer being a ínewí beer that they were advertising at Royal Bavaria. I was assured by the waitstaff that it was indeed a different recipe from the Octoberfest beer that they brewed. Anyways, regardless of the recipe change it tasted very similar to their Octoberfest. Sweet and buttery aroma. Light in body. Pours a solid orange color. Taste is sweet and malty, with caramel and grains. Buttery notes throughout. It was all right, just not very different from the Octoberfest.

OldBoss
Royal Bavaria Weiss 2.6
Had at Jorgís farewell. New owner and brewer, and products have improved somewhat. The beer poured slightly hazy orange with a two finger head. Some DMS still lingering, but not the butter bomb it used to be. No banana esters, but mild clove notes are present. Still not all Iíd expect from a German Hefe, but an improvement over past efforts. BREW!!!

kreepindeth
Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 2.8
Aroma of buttered biscuits. Pours a bright orange with a thick white head. Flavor has mild butter with heavy biscuit notes. Enjoyable and surprising given the low alcohol content.

Braudog
Royal Bavaria Blonde Lager 2.2
Draft at the brewpub, 11/14/06: Very still, slightly hazy. Laced head. Liquid lemon cookie; very sweet malt. Least favorite here.

Braudog
Royal Bavaria Weiss 2.6
Draft at the brewpub, 11/14/06: Clearer than youíd expect for a hefeweizen. Very bubbly, rising into a big white head. Maltier than Iíd thought. Creamy. Bit of a yeasty edge, but not much. Enjoyable but not squarely down the the HW vein.

Braudog
Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 3.5
Draft at the brewpub, 11/14/06: Amber-orange with an extremely active appeal. Very smooth. Biscuity at first, mellows as you go into a more evenly keeled malty brew. Quite good.

Royal Bavaria Blonde Lager 2.5
To the note of the previous rater, this beer does have a nice "Koelsch-like quality", although I would put it somewhere between a lager and a koelsch. It lacked the richness that I would have expected, but its flavor was still good. It was certainly the best looking beer at Royal Bavaria.

Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 2.9
I am always weary about low-alcohol brews here in Oklahoma, but this one impressed me. Its rich golden bubbly body was topped by a light foamy goodness, and its aroma was fair. While the flavor was mediocre and the body was thin, the taste was still good.

Royal Bavaria Weiss 1.6
There wasnít a lot to this beer. In fact, at one point I forgot I was drinking beer. There was not much flavor to the beer and it seemed to be extra filtered leaving little or no cloudiness behind. Try one of the other beers on tap.

Royal Bavaria Blonde Lager 3.1
(Tap) Pours a blonde color with a lasting white head. This beer has nice and balanced crisp hoppy notes. Pretty decent body for a low alcohol beer. This is a light and refreshing brew, but lacking some of the German Koelsch-like qualities that one might expect from this beer.

Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 3.1
(Tap) Pours a rich amber with a fluffy, lasting head. Yeast and biscuit notes. Not a lot in the way of hops, but still refreshing. More body than I expected, especially for a low alcohol beer. Pairs nicely with the sausage here.

Royal Bavaria Weiss 2.7
(Tap) Pours golden, but not very cloudy as one would expect. Pretty bland... no off flavors, but nothing special compared to other hefeweizens. There are almost no detectable clove or fruity notes. This is pretty unlike the style. Iíd almost say itís more like an American Wheat. Iíll try it again to see if this beer tastes consistent. Right now, itís probably my least favorite Royal Bavaria beer.

Royal Bavaria Weiss 5
Jorg knows how to brew a "real" beer. You will forget about the phoney American watered down beer once you try a selection brewed at the Royal Bavaria. When I can not drink at the Royal Bavaria-- I only drink Franzis Kaner Hefe Weiss. There are a very select few others- but, I only drink good beer!!! You people that said you did not like Royal Bavaira Weiss donít know good beer. Jorg obtains the ingrediants for his brews straight from Bavaria. There are no american products in the beer except the water. Have some Wiener Schnitzel with your Weiss and afterwards a pear schapps and youíll feel fine!!

Royal Bavaria Weiss 1.8
it poured like anaverage Weizen, but it smelled terrible, and the flavor was very bland... the aroma was the exact same for both the beers that I tried at royal bavaria... possibly infected, very buttery

Papsoe
Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 2.7
(On tap) Presented as "Royal Bavaria Kings Oktoberfest". Slightly hazy amber with a handsome, creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. Malty nose with some hints of yeast. Medium body with vague, caramelish accents. Discreet, hoppy finish. Decent but not an overly refined example of the style. 210306

Papsoe
Royal Bavaria Weiss 2.3
(On tap) Presented as "Royal Bavaria Kings Weizen". Hazy golden with a creamy, off-white head. Surprisingly neutral aroma - no fruity banana esters here. Medium body with sweetish malts and vague accents of yeast. Definitely drinkable but a very poor example of a Hefe. A Bavarian would cry if forced to drink this. 210306

MrRomero
Royal Bavaria Blonde Lager 1.9
Tap at the brewery: poured cloudy yellow with a small white head. Less offensive butter flavor than the other two but equally as bad. All these beers taste the same: Diacetyl bombs with very watery finishes. Very disappointing with these brews.

MrRomero
Royal Bavaria Weiss 1.3
Tap at the brewery: poured clear light orange with a medium creamy white head. Same diacetyl as the Octoberfest in the aroma. This beer actually tastes just like the Octoberfest but itís filtered. No weizen characteristics: no banana, no spice, no yeast. Just butter. Very poor beer. Note to Crymdogdee- I live in Germany and I can say this beer sucks.

MrRomero
Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 1.8
Tap at the brewpub: poured a cloudy orange with a medium white head. Fairly big diacetyl aroma and nothing else. Buttery flavor with a mild bitter finish. No discernible Octoberfest/Marzen flavors in this one. Not very good at all.

Terminus
Royal Bavaria Blonde Lager 3.3
tap at brewpub-sampled at the OK gathering-pours clear yellow hue with nimimal white head. aroma is mostly spicy german hops and some sweet malt notes. flavors are dead on for a great lager-nice spicy noble hop presence and some slight grassy notes on the finish. almost kolsh-like. good lager!

Terminus
Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 3
tap at brewpub-sampled at the OK gathering-pours a hazy orange hue with minimal white head. similar thing going on as the hefe-buttery aroma mixed with that marzen characteristic fall aroma-i get hard boiled eggs too! flavors are a little better-tastes like a marzen with a slight buttery note.

Terminus
Royal Bavaria Weiss 3
tap at brewpub-sampled at the OK gathering-pours cloudy yellow, but not as cloudy as alot of hefeís. yeaasty, bready aroma, and slightly buttery (diacytl?). flavors are grainy and sweet-not much banana or clove on this one. average

Royal Bavaria Weiss 3.4
Wow, this is a good looking wheat. Like Mike says, the head just wouldnít quit. Had a clove and spicy nose, although slight, which was really nice. The flavor was subtle but very fresh and like homemade bread.

Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 2.7
This one was somewhat disappointing compared to the Blond. Cloudy red color, with something off in the odor and the flavor (diactyl?), leading some at the table to wonder if there was an infection problem. Iíll have to re-rate this next time Iím there. Seemed to have a lot of promise, but the finish was really off-putting.

Royal Bavaria Blonde Lager 4
This is probably my highest rated lager. Looked great in the glass with a long lasting head. Aroma of new mown grass. Very refreshing flavor, with a nice malty biscuit like profile.

Royal Bavaria Blonde Lager 3.8
Clear orange appearance with a big foamy white head. Aroma is a spicy yeast and grain, while the flavor is a light, crisp and very refreshing lemon and wheat. Sweet, thin and crisp, this is the perfect beer for a long, hot Oklahoma summer day.

Royal Bavaria Weiss 3.4
Golden yellow, slightly murky appearance. It has a huge foamy head which lasted about 10 minutes. It didnít look like it was ever going to go away, so I had to eat it, and it tastes like bread. This beer smells very creamy, of sugar and wheat, and tastes slightly bitter. Balanced by a sweet yeasty flavor, it is light, as they claim. I should also note that the consistency of this beer is very lacking. At times it can reach a mid 3, and other times it can be a high 1. Approach with caution, and pray that they clean their equipment before your visit. My rating (3.4) represents the best I have had this beer, but I have had it considerably worse at times.

Royal Bavaria Oktoberfest 3.2
Murky amber, slghtly cloudy appearance with an off-white head. Smells of pepper, wheat bread, rye, corn and vegetables. Overall it has a nice mild bitterness with a starchy corn husk flavor... really nice to pair with the food cooked at Royal.
