Lindenbräu am Potsdamer Platz Dunkel
Tap at the tap, about half an hour after ordering it. It’s a Berlin thing. Beige capped ruby. Aroma of milky cheap coffee, rust and black bread. Decent rye bread, scattered iron filings, pencil hop flavour with burnt wafer and buttery touches. Hints of prune and caramel. Pleasant and mellow like an old school mild.

Lindenbräu am Potsdamer Platz Pils
Tap in The Sony Cenre, Berlin. Duran Duran on Quaaludes in the toilets. Bright spiralling gold heaped with white. Bread to the softness of corn. Many lacings. Shavings of lemon and beeswax. Maybe too sweet but does depart with a trace of dryness. Aroma lemon, honey and shrub. Cashew soggy and sweet. Would swear it contained corn if I didn’t know better.

Tap in The Sony Centre, Berlin. Opaque witbier orange capped hugely with white. Soapy soft grass and lemon barley squash hop, hint of parting dryness, almost rosemary, cardboard, dab of bile, bread. Real but a touch bland. Herbal aroma suggesting rosemary. Decent unfiltered shopping mall hell that doesn’t quicken the pulse.

On tap @ the brewpub (old rating). Unclear yellow body with a decent off-white head. Aroma is rather mild, but have all the right elements like wheat, banana, cloves and yeast. The same goes for the flavor, a light and easy to drink (and sell) refreshing weissbier for the masses. Not bad, just not very interesting.

Lindenbräu am Potsdamer Platz Dunkel
I am not one to judge the finer aspects of dark beers as I am not very experienced in this type of beer. The Lindenbräu Dunkel seems to meet all the criteria I fanthom are necessary. It smells like the remnants of coffee roast, has bitterness at the taste end and is creamy and round when swallowing. This is a beer for the colder months of the year.

Lindenbräu am Potsdamer Platz Pils
What is it about Berlin and its Pils? Why does it need to be so taste definciant, while the city is so close to the great north Pils breweries. This beer begins well - it looks great and smells good, but the first taste and body are mundane and without much herbal motivation.

Lindenbräu am Potsdamer Platz Hopfinger Naturtrüb
This cellar beer has the typical traits of an unfiltered beer. It is brownish for a beer and not transparent. The foam is solid and the initial taste is fresh and rewarding. It has a well rounded palate and a good taste/aftertaste. A well brewed beer.

Just an average pils, which you pay more than the avarage prices of Berlin just because you drink it under the Dome of the beautiul Potsdamer Platz. An average pils which tries to be a keller, without success.

Golden yellow really cloudy body, with nice white dense head. Aroma is malty and grass and some soapy aroma. Palate is full bodied, carbonation is soft and mouthful. Taste is grassy, hop notes are rather average. Maltiness is pretty balanced, but finish is rather weak, hop bitterness is papery and somewhat not fresh. The beer was served in Berliner Pilsener glass, so no bonus for that.

Tap in Lindenbräu, Sony Center. Heavy visible carbonation, gradient cloudy golden with a huge creamy head. Nose is hugely yeasty and wheaty. low esters and cloves as well. Taste is just all yeast and wheat, gritty without being scratchy, dry with low bitterness but no phenols or esters. Medium, highly crisp body -- truly a wheat beer, but not really in the Bavarian sense.

On draught at Lindenbräu Potsdamer Platz. Hazy, deep golden body with a pillowy, pitted white head. Lasts forever. Pearly carbonation. Medium clove aroma with faint vanilla and light banana. Dough underneath peaks through after a few seconds. Grainy wheat malt flavor and some mineral water followed by some spice. Banana washes through at the end. Light body with high carbonation bordering on aggressive. Malty, fairly well attenuated with a clean finish. Good beer, but not the best Hefeweizen.

Draught at Lindenbräu am Potsdammerplatz (Berlin).
Orange color much fraught and hazy with elegant extended bubbly aspect. Creamy head, compact, optimal persistence. Much sour and coolness aroma with notes of banana, lemon, clear mildews, wine cellar, white grape. Fresh taste, yielded, fruty, aged, sour, with light notes of malt and cereals. Excellent.

06/03 Draught at the brewpub. It poured very nice cloudy orange to brown body with big white head. Very nice yeasty estery aroma, banana and orange mostly. Flavor was even better, orange, biscuit, very nice fruity yeast and wheat characteristics can be found here! Full bodied, with typical bubblegum banana finish which lasted pretty much. Very tasty, full bodied and cloying weizen. Exactly my type!

Draught at Potsdamerplatz. Poured a superb apricot orange-yellow body with a creamy white head. The nose is dominated by bananas, but it is also gluey, dusty and lemony and overall very nice. My pre-taste opinion of this one was extremely high. Bready, slightly sourish but pleasant taste, bananas! Very tasty, sweetish. Light chewed up bubblegum later on. Refreshing too. Just great.

300ml draught at the brew pub, Sony Center, Potsdamer Platz. Regular edition, ohne schuss. Hazy, amber-orange body colour. Tiny, but lasting, white tophead. Smell of spiced citrus fruits on a wheaty backbone. Cloves, citrus and ripe banana in flavour followed by dry, bitter citric fruits to the ending. Fined bodied giving a balanced and fresh impression. Good interpretation of the style. Not too sweet. Served under the motto Trinkt mehr Weissbier (Berlin, 21.11.2009).
