mansquito	4 Ölands Gammeltokens Rököl Man in the Moon, Stockholm 2008 bottle: Poured brown with a massive head. Aroma is smoke, aged, dried fruits, candy. Aroma was quite excellent. I could sit around and sniff this all day. Taste is slightly sweet, really fruity, and really heavy on the malt. There is a smoky lingering aftertaste in this. LoFi	1.7 Ölands Tokens Röklakrits Porter Bottle. From notes. I had such high hopes for this one, since I like both smoke and licorice in my porters/stouts. Epic tasting we had. pours dark brown, off-white. aroma, malty with lots of nice smoke aroma, dark fruits. flavors, 12% wow this beer is so drinkable the smoke on this one is fantastic. konstifik	3.9 Ölands Gammeltokens Rököl Wow, this is the smokiest beer I ever had. It’s like Ardbeg in beer form. Looots of smoke, peat and tar in there. Halfway through the beer I notice it was 12 % ABV which really doesn’t come through at all. I would have guessed for somewhere around 6-7 %. Big body on this one, bearing all that smoke and tar. Nice, but also very special. The brewery isn’t running anymore so if you see one of these, try it, it might be the only chance you get. Sunday, June 27, 2010
yngwie	3.7 Ölands Tokens Clusterbomb Bottle, thx to Gr0ve. It’s a hazy, amber beer with a finger-thick beige head. Caramel-malty nose with pinecones, some citrus peel and a subtle touch of smoke. The flavor has a caramel maltyness as a base, with pinecones, citrus peel and a good bitterness up front. A faint note of smoke in the background. Full body. Citrus peel and bitterness in the end. Aroma is burnt sugar, sweet malts, dry dark fruits and some grains as well. Also mild leathery notes. Flavour is rather much the same with the leathery notes being rather evident.
