Brauerei Dremel Reviews

Dedollewaitor
Dremel Festbier 1.7
Draught @ Dremel, Wattendorf. Pours cloudy amber with a small white head. Nuts and soothing butter. Brewer was proud to tell me that it was brewed for a local fest the week after, poor people. Diacetyl, grains and peach melba youghurt. Bad!

Dedollewaitor
Dremel Helles 3.4
Draught @ Dremel, Wattendorf. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head and lacings. Good malts, crackers and grass with a slight lemony twist. Dry and crisp. Some vague unclean yeasty hints that disturbs more and more as the beers warms. What a shame. Still quite drinkable however. Soft and quaffing.

Dremel Dunkel 3.7
Gravity keg at the Goldener Adler in Muersbach-Germany, based on Manuele advise who "whispered" a new possible recipe. The guy who poured, upon my question, presented it as a Keller-Bock which sounded quite strange to me...anyway. Pours a very bright and unfiltered brownish-orange color, with a medium off-white cap. Nose: roasted malts, well-hidden caramel notes and after getting warmer a bit of spirit-like alcohol warming feel. Mouth: nutty, soft body, again roasted malts. Low-medium carbonation and a very pleasant nice end. It talks to a dunkel but apparently is just a "vintage" Franconian Keller. Tasty!

3fourths
Dremel Helles 3.4
Draft at the brewery in Wattendorf. Hazy gold with a fine and sticky head. Medium bodied, rich with moderate to low sweetness and similarly low but we’ll matched bitterness. Yeast acidity is pulpy and zesty and a little doughy. Faint aroma hops are lemon and herbs. Malt is toasty and bready and it tastes of saltine crackers and honey, good malt integration. Good restrained semi-sweet/off-dry Helles landbier, very drinkable. Fine and creamy carbonation is silky soft whole malt is baked baguette and toasted grain pureness. I imagine with the yeast settled or filtered this would be the tits. Dry, yeasty / doughy, good bittering hop grip. Silty and coarse finish.

Dremel Helles 3.2

Mal ganz was anderes.

Test vom 17.12.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Grima
Dremel Bock 3.6
The beer has a beautiful bright copper color with lots of fine creamy foam. Roasty-malty and tart-bitter smell. The Bock starts roasted malt with light caramel notes. The aftertaste shows very malty and earthy, with a light smoky taste. Later, the Bock is very drinkable, but with strong malt-body, the way to the finish wins again properly in volume. The smokiness disappears almost completely. Very drinkable, full-flavored Bockbier!

Dremel Dunkel 3.3
Pours into the glass a hazelnut brown beer with a beautiful, delicate, pearly head. The Dunkles has a caramel malt aroma, subtle nutty-malty and roasty-sweet. It is also malty bitter with sweet flavors in the background. The aftertaste shows hoppy-bitter. The further course is also nice hoppy-bitter. Another well-balanced Dremel beer!

Grima
Dremel Helles 3.4
The beer in the glass is good golden yellow, with staunch head and many small CO2 bubbles. Hoppy-sour smell with a hint of yeast and orange. The beer starts hoppy, grainy, pleasantly sour yeasty. Overall, very mild and balanced. The aftertaste shows balanced hoppy, yeasty, slightly sour. The further course remains dominant sour yeasty, the hops come through clearly noticeable.

Medium dark-yellow head over faintly hazy foxy-amber beer. Nice bready & leafy/earthy notes, dark malts announcing themselves. Dry, melanoidin-determined taste, faintly nutty and leafy. Sweetish finish with a hint of coffee. Soft creamy MF, well-carbonated. Long, faintly wry aftertaste. Very nice Dunkel (or rather, Bernsteinfarbiges!) Many thanks to DonS!

Bottle, kindly delivered by Frankenland! A bit hazy, chestnut-amber coloured with creamy beige head. Caramelly and hoppy, but also metallic nose. Moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light bodied to thin. Traces of caramel in the metallic-bitter finish. Not really convincing, not typical for the style........

Dremel Dunkel 3
Bottle. Hazy, chestnut-brown colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Moderately sweet, toffee-ish and toast-malty aroma with lighter notes of vanilla and shy herbal hops. Light-sweet flavour, slim bodied, but not watery mouthfeel with a well-matured carbonation. Toasty malt-accented taste with caramel. Herbal notes show up towards the moderately dry and not consequently lasting finish. Nice enough [09.XII.08].

Dremel Helles 3.2
Bottle, with many thanks to Karlheinz alias Frankenland for the Dremel collection. Hazy, pale golden colour with a massive and slowly lacing foamy white head. Slightly sweet and yeasty, distinctively grainy malty aroma with present herbal hops in the background. Light-bitter flavour, light bodied with a rather fizzy carbonation. Well-rounded grainy malty and slightly yeasty taste with herbal elements, especially towards the dry and slightly bitter finish. Balanced and easy-going brew, not the archetypical Kellerbier, but indeed a Zwickel [09.XII.08].

Dremel Dunkel 3
Gift from the brewer. Tap, the brewery doesn’t bottle anymore. Malty coffee aroma and flavor. Strong barnyard smell. Bitter, caramelly aftertaste. Hazy dark color. Very interesting beer from this tiny village brewery. Bottle tasted more than 10 years later. Brown color. Caramel aroma with some grassy hops. Malty sweetish flavor with caramel and milk chocolate. Bready, sticky mouthfeel. Pleasant.

Dremel Helles 3.3
Brewery tap, gift from the brewer. Malty aroma and flavor. Strong barnyard smell, emphasizing the rural environment of the brewery. Not filtered and therefore a hazy golden color. Hopbitter finish. Full of flavor, but not an entirely clean palate. Ten years later....bottle. Hazy blonde. Soft floral aroma. Medium bodied. Floral hopbitter flavor. Bready. Characterful helles with a hay aftertaste.
