Bandana Hamburg Dopplebock
Ludicrously light for a dopplebock, more light shiny copper. Nose has some caramel, but smells a lot like overcooked green beans. Sweet and harsh, some unpleasant corn/grainy flavors, almost saccharine at the end. Thin as well.

Bandana Hanska Baltic Porter
Deep brown-red. Nose caramel and dish soap. Flavor is tingly, quite spicy, sort of a sandy chocolate feel to it. Lengthy sweetness at the end. A mite thin and served far too cold, but a decent effort.

Bandana Waseca Honey Wheat
2005 ABR: Very little going on here. Not much wheat flavor, not much honey, either. Mainly a very light, watered-down lager-type brew.

Bandana Octoberfest
Mild and timid version, a little overly sweet and a hop bitterness than seemed somewhat overbearing. Just OK.

Bandana Octoberfest
Bronze color. Very light malt aroma. Bitter flavor. It needs more malt and more balanced hops. Light body, dry finish.

Bandana Waseca Honey Wheat
Basically a light lager. No detectable honey flavor. Looks better than it is with a cloudy yellow color that gives he impression of a wit. Simple.

Bandana Lake Crystal Hefeweizen
This wasn’t bad.I caught some real sweet aromas from this not unlike marzipan. But the flavor wasn’t as sharp. Not bad but just a little non-descript.

2004 ABR. Basic lager aroma with hints of honey. Very pale yellow. White, frothy large bubble head. A little bit of visible carbonation. Amarillo hops? Diacetyl? A little peppery. Not bad. Some hop zing.

Sampled at Great Taste. Another beer that didn’t look that bood, but once it hit the back of the throat, it was so good.

Bandana Janesville Porter
2004 St. Paul Winterfest. Dark brown body; off white head. Nice lace. Very malty. Smells like a German dark. Doesn’t taste like a porter at all. Not sweet or robust enough for a porter.

Bandana Eagle Lake Pale Ale
My first visit to the new Bandana Brewing was a very positive one. From $1 Happy hour pints to the quality beer, this place is well worth the visit. Eagle Lake Pale Ale has an aroma of fresh hops and fruit...wonderful. Copper in appearance. Has a small, white, fine bubble head with excellent lace! Head is mostly eroding. Flavor is wonderfully hoppy. I will stop into Bandana for a few of these every time I'm down in Mankato for a MoonDogs game!

Bandana St. Peter Red
Some sweet malt evident in the nose. Dishwater also comes to mind. Dark red in appearance; almost non-existent head (just a whisp). Very good lace. Moderate malt flavor. Good, fairly rich. A quality brew.
