Chico Brewhouse India Pale Ale
Clear and golden with a frothy-white head. Sweet and flowery nose was tremendously inviting. Texture was amazing -- rich, weighty, smooth, and perfectly carbonated (for a "big" IPA). Big, wafty flavors and aromas of flowers, perfume, grass, earth and pine. I could even pick out the Perle hops somehow (reminded me of a homebrew I made once). Wonderfully balanced beer. Shockingly tasty! I hope they keep brewing at this level.

Chico Brewhouse Pale Ale
Clear and light golden; kind of deceptive as to what was to come. Rich, clean mouthfeel. Malts had a sugar cereal sweetness, which was actually really tasty. Very aromatic hops, flowery and earthy, with a very balanced bitterness. Really good beer; very drinkable.

Chico Brewhouse Porter
Deep burgundy-red. Smooth and chewy mouthfeel, but it wasn’t too heavy, which was nice. Notes of sweet and syrupy caramel, dark chocolate and mild, creamed coffee. It also had a hint of toffee. Pretty good, but just a little too sweet for me.

Chico Brewhouse Blonde Ale
Pale yellow; slight haze; decent lace. Nice level of carbonation; smooth, and it has a little chewiness to it. Sweet malt base made me think of honey and light caramel. Very mild bitterness (flowers and herbs). Overall, not bad, but it didn’t have much charisma, and the aroma seemed to be stuck under a glass ceiling.

Chico Brewhouse Raspberry Revolution
Draft at brewery: Bright ruby-red with nice lace. Fruity, inviting nose. Lively, crisp carbonation with a soft malt base. Nice blend of sweetness, bitterness and tartness. Tasty raspberry infusion. Dryish finish. Overall, pretty decent beer.

Chico Brewhouse Scotch Ale
Deep burgundy hue; thin head. Sharp nose. Rich and smooth, with a real weightiness to it. Notes of rock candy, fresh-roasted coffee, almonds, peanuts, vanilla, coffee, chocolate and caramel. Complex aromas with an ideal amount of alcohol to give it a little nip. Surprisingly tasty stuff.

Chico Brewhouse Toasted Coconut Porter
GABF 2003. I absolutly loved this beer. Like the description, aroma of toasted coconut. Flavors are also milk chocolate and just the right amount of malt and hops. Perfectly balanced. Just fantastic.

Chico Brewhouse Raspberry Revolution
GABF 2003: Hazy red color with a small off-white head. Piercing berry aroma. Both watery and fizzy, this beer ends weak and without the berry attack the aroma promises.

Not a big fan of this. The last beer I sampled while at the brewhouse. Very strong fruit taste, but not very balanced. Kind of like a strong wine. You'd have to sip this.

Chico Brewhouse India Pale Ale
For a small micro brew, this is a damn good IPA. The hops jump out of the aroma. Nice head that sticks to the side of the glass. It has a little more of a creamy taste than all other IPA's. I was very impressed with this. Definitely worth a trip after visiting Sierra Nevada.

Chico Brewhouse Porter
A dark color with little head. You can taste the roasted coffee and chocolate from the malt. Nothing great about this but nothing bad either. Just an average porter.

Chico Brewhouse Blonde Ale
Very light colored beer. Some malt from the aroma. Very smooth taste. Not bad but is kind of lacking.
