Surprisingly enjoyed this. Aroma and flavors were bold, with earthy malts, nuttiness, toasted biscuit and a slight hop bite. Reddish-brown color with a huge foamy head. Weighty and full but not filling.

COMES ON STRONG WITH LITTLE BEHIND IT. better to come in easy and give you something to think about. decent hoppy aroma. dry and a little thin in body. some hop mostly citrus in the taste. this could be a nice base and then one might get a little creative and add dimension to a beer like this and.......imagine what could happen! seeing as one gets some good blonde malt in there.

Bright clear gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and decent fine carbonation. Soft pale malts, mildly sweet. Fairly spicy mid. Touches of dried fruit and citric peel. Smooth semi dry spicy finish. What is this beer supposed to be? Fine.

12 oz can, thanks brenn79. Aroma is floral, cotton candy, peachy, grain. Pours clear golden with a medium off-white head with great retention and some lace. Taste is lightly bitter and has a weird sweetness to it; kind of vegetal. Kind of plain. I wasnít as impressed with this as Mr. Brenn.

22 oz bottle- Pours clear copper with a medium off white head that reduces fairly quickly leaving a soapy blanket. Aroma is citrusy, piney, earthy malt, spicy, bready. The taste is candy sweet, followed by a solid bitterness, the candy doesnít become overbearingly sweet, there is a tea like spice lingering here. Not bad, but i prefer Jet Star.

Thx to x-mom-in-law for the continuation of the demise of my liver. I think actually getting back in shape has fueled my need for beer. Less than half a bottle to knock this wordy pile on its face. OKish aroma, malty, weird lemon lime, mild ginger - more like actually smelling a chunk of it, slightly cracked, in the store pre-peeling. Itís a good mix for the face holes. The flavour is a curiosity thing where itís not crazy good, not really stand out interesting, but pretty much just a good drinking liquid. Malts in and out beginning to end, lightly spicy that pops in mid sip and rises up to slightly grab the attention and then vanishes, slight candy thing, bit of ginger, bit of the lemonylimeylimony. Pretty much a refreshing beer, zero hint at the 8% that will make me take my clothes off for priests. Just be gentle, Father...

650ml bottle from Total Wine in Jensen Beach, shared by bananabi11. Very dark brown pour with a tan head leaving little lacing. Aroma has caramel and chocolate with light roast. Taste adds molasses into the roasty, cocoa, caramel and chocolate, but this never gets sweet. Solid and tasty. 13.8

No-Li Expo Series Big Bang Barley Wine
Nice crystal clear copper and very nice bronze body with a good, two to three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of nice assertive hops, alcohol, oak, caramel, malt, earth, figs, pit fruits and a complex bunch of pitted fruits. Medium-bodied; Assertive alcohol presence up front with a bit of nectar, some grass and hay, all finishing with a touch of cleanser. Aftertaste shows some bitterness from the hops and oak, but not much complexity or body - just a faint showing of hops, earth and some alcohol notes. Overall, a rather under-complex and more simplistic barley wine, but that said - it isnít bad, just not showing the depth, complexity and especially the body of a good Barley Wine. I sampled this 65 cL bottle (I hate large format barley wines) purchased [of course from the West Coast] from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 10-March-2015 for US$6,02 sampled at home in [the real] Washington on 12-April-2016. No-Li Rise & Grind Ale
12 oz bottle. looks great, with a frothy light brown head over a black body. Pour aroma has suggestion of old coffee grinds, vanilla, and cheap chocolate. After smelling this, the flavor is quite surprising. Thereís a light but good coffee aspect, a load of chocolate, and some dark roasted grains. Overall: a lighter coffee stout with a poor aroma that really doesnít detract too much from the enjoyment.

No-Li Mosh Pit Tart Cherry Ale
12 bottle in FL. Pleasing red-copper colored body is slightly hazy and topped by a slightly pinkish head of moderate size and very good retention. Aroma: more sweet than tart. Soft ripe fruits including cherry. Flavor: despite the label this ale is just mildly tart, at least when combined with the sweetness. The mild aftertaste is both bitter and tart with less lingering tart cherry flavor than hoped. Feel: medium body with medium-high but soft carbonation.

Dark brown body with an okay head. The nose has a nice smooth roastiness and earthy pine hop aromas that are continued into the flavor as well. Smooth, gentle debittered roast throughout. Earthy, minty pine hop finish. This seems to straddle the territory between an American Brown a Cascadian Dark Ale. Sessionable.

12 oz bottle. Aroma comes leaping out of the gate with a wet sitting-in-the-sink-for-a-week dishrag note, then develops some nutty, earthy and roasty notes to combat this nastiness, leaving a decent but definitely not fantastic smelling beer. Pours dark brown with red highlights and a medium-sized beige head with good retention; sheets of lace are left on the glass all the way down to the bottom after the liquid disappears. Taste is lightly sweet, roasty and nutty, finishing with a robust bitterness. Palate is perfect for style, exhibiting a nice creaminess with taut carbonation and a medium body. I was expecting much less from this, given a lot of the breweryís recent output, and that initial terrible aroma note. It ended up being a quaffable and perfectly serviceable brown ale.

On tap at St. Augustineís, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out pretty pronounced bready malts, with a little of the lime but no ginger. Flavour is more pronounced, with a little ginger, bready malt and a touch of citrus. The adjuncts donít take centre stage; itís more of a bready winter warmer. Not very complex or interesting, but itís decent.

Big orange peel in the aroma followed by a flavor of orange pith, pine and a mild vanilla. The beer pours a clear, golden-honey topped with a somewhat creamy head the color of buttermilk. Visually enticing, the beer warms and opens up in flavor as well, luring me back for more. The finish is slightly dry, short and tasty. Honestly, I did not expect to enjoy this brew, nor did I expect to be able to recommend it. Recommend it I do. If you enjoy a bit of orange, a warm bit of vanilla caramel flavor finish in an otherwise very refreshing beer, try it. Let it warm up, let it wrap itself around your tongue. I guarantee, youíll be glad you did.

On tap, 10oz tulip glass, slight quickly dissipating head, clear golden, light clean doughy aroma with maybe the faintest hint of orange, bright easy mouthfeel, touch of vanilla, medium-full body, medium sweetness. Perhaps you should smell an orange or try this next to a taste of orange juice; I canít really find the orange flavor, but I donít really consider it lacking. Thanks to No-Li for keeping it interesting.

Nice dark brown coloured body with a thin, fast-dying light brown head. Aroma of coffee grounds, nuts, earth, pit fruits and a bit of raisins, but the spent coffee is definitely noticeable. Medium to Light-bodied; Strong assertive coffee flavour up front with not much malt to support it - a touch thin on the finish, with some caramel, nuts and musty notes right behind. Aftertaste shows the coffee, a touch of alcohol and very little else - no real malts either nor any sort of complexity. Overall, quite poor, as itís solely one-dimensional with no complexity nor variance in flavours - thin malt and coffee, thatís it to this one. I love coffee, but this didnít do it for me. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Eye Street, Foggy Bottom), DC on 05-February-2015 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington on 10-January-2016, about a year after purchasing.
