Valley Forge Regiment Pale
From old tasting notes. Amber orange color. Thick, creamy, bubbly beige head. Soft, fruity malt nose. Spicy toasted malt flavor hints at toffee and grapefruit peel. Nicely balanced by a crisp spicy hop finish.

Valley Forge Peach Wheat
Pours a dirty, straw yellow body with a white head. Aroma is surprisingly that of a wheat ale with peaches. Flavor is a refreshing wheat taste with lots of peaches and a nice malt backbone. A little more body than most wheat beers. Very nice.

Notes from January. Pours hazy amber/brown with aroma of hopcit, some berries. Tastes hopcity, with a wheaty malt presence coupled with some finishing cranberry tartness. Decent.

Valley Forge Vanilla Porter
saved this for last as part of the brewpub sampler. smelled great, vanilla and chocolate blending together, almost gave an aroma like white chocolate. body was deep brown but not totally opaque with amber highlights and an almost nitro-esque layer of head. flavor started out with burnt coffee and gave way through chocolates ending with the sweetness of the vanilla. the aftertaste was what lost it for me though, as a seemingly watered down body had an odd soapy aftertaste. the residual taste in my mouth returned to the vanilla, but to get there, the odd sourness was dominant. it was unfortunate the end didnt live up to the rest, or this would have been outstanding.

at the brewpub, loads of chocolate malt coming off of a deep brown body with scarlet highlights and a nice cream colored head. the flavor was nice, a little oversweet with chocolate, but i personally liked that. the tail had a little more bitterness than i prefer, but the biggest complaint i had with this was it’s body, which was very thin and watery for a porter.

Valley Forge Dark Wheat
at the brewpub, mildly sweet, wheaty aroma, deep amber color with a thin creamy layer of head, unfortunately was this beers best feature. flavor was bittersweet and watery, the body was rather thin, and the aftertaste was akin to grass and soap. very disappointed with this.

Valley Forge Red Coat Ale
at the brewpub, wisps of white on top of a pale gold, aroma is pungent, as it almost makes my nose crinkle. flavor was weak and watery, little or no body and just not a very good example of the type.

Valley Forge Stool Pigeon Stout
Draught @ Brewery: Smelled malty, fruity, and sweet. Poured dark black. Thick in texture. Small brown head did not last. Good lacing. Tasted like blueberry, which was likely a result of the complex malts. Easy to drink. A different take on Stout. Overall, one of the better beers I have had here in a while.

Valley Forge Kings Gold
ReRated to fix the typos in review: I honestly had more fun drinking my water than this beer. A bright yellow in the glass with zero head or aroma. The flavor was non existant in this beer. My gf actually said "Whats wrong?" when she saw me try it. It literally had nothing to it. Almost as if someone poured water into my beer and served it to me. AVOID unless you get a sampler.

Ahh the reason to go to VF. Dark like it should be in the glass this beer reeked of malty goodness. Flavor was chocolate, cherry, and plums maybe being perfectly smooth. Aftertastse was exemplerary. Do yourself a favor and get there for this beer.

Valley Forge Red Coat Ale
Fairly decent IPA that when compared to the other offering of the brew pub truly stands out. Not a good thing. Mediocre hoppiness at the nose and on the palate was non existent. Just didn’t taste very fresh and I found this beer to be a little watery as well.

The highlight of my dinner at VF. Dark copper por with a small head that laced well. Aroma was heavy on malt and the flavor was the same. Fruit also comes through on the palate. Wish I had this when it was fresher.

Draft at the brewpub over Christmas. I had been waiting over 2 years to try this beer. Poured dark mahogany with a big tan head. Aroma of big malt, tons of chocoff, and finishing cherry, vanilla, and subdued oak elements. Dense palate, with great balance and complexity. This is a top notch Imperial Stout. My compliments to Michael, the VF brewer.

On tap @ Valley Forge Brew Pub. Poured a dark black color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of vanilla (duh), roasted malts, and chocolates. Light coffee/bitter finish. Vanilla was stronger in the aromas than the taste. There was something about the body I didn’t care for (a little watery?).
