Alvinne Mano Negra Eisbock 3.4
Bottle share at Kenny’s 20K, many thanks to Matteo for this 19% beast. As ’Alvinne Mano Negra Eisbock’. Black with a small tan head. Aroma is very chocolatey, treacle, some booze. Body is oily, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is molasses, tangy sweet, spicy, touch meaty, boozy breathy linger. Obviously the alcohol is showing up noticeably and it’s a touch harsh. That’s all to be expected. An interesting beer to try.

Alvinne / Naparbier Gentleman Sour Ale Oak Aged 3.3
Bottle bought at Geers. Very vinegar-like, balsamico notes, dried dark fruits. Too much vinegar-like for me, not my type of beer.

Alvinne Podge Bourgogne Barrel Oak Aged 3.6
75 cl Bottle - BBD = 02/2014 I enjoyed this beer, but stout’s are just not my thing really. I’d love to drink this once again, but would not especially go and search for it. Just a decent beer.

Alvinne Morpheus Dark 3.2
Bottle at home. Gusher - lost about half. The rest poured inky black with a tight brownish head. Aroma of burnt malt and a slight musty hop funkiness. Taste has initial sweetness, then a rasping bitterness. Tastes of burnt malt, black currant jam and cherry liqueurs. Rich and dry to finish. Not bad, a little unbalanced and the gusher to start was annoying.

Van ‘t vat. Oranjekleurig bier met dunne witte schuimkraag. Geur: bitterig, kaneel.

Alvinne Wild West Barrel 58 4.8
31/01/2016 @home - 50cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte. Red orange with small white head. Nose is first some oak and than insane fruit scent and sourness. Taste is different berries following each other, sourness. Insane fruit flavours, enjoyable sourness, carbonation is a plus to the flavours. The Cuvée Sofie series is closer to my personal taste bit this is high quality too. Just a pity the oak is a bit lost in the taste.

Alvinne Cuvee de Mortagne 4.3
WOW!!!!! Geruch sofort sehr weissweinlastig. Gekauft in HH, Beyond Bieer. 0,5 Liter Flasche / 10 Euro.

290116. Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. Pours a thin dark brown colour with not a lot of head. While this beer may not be a stunner in the looks department the aroma and flavour more than makes up for it. Dark and sour. Hides the 8% ABV very well.

Initially this tastes like something you find on aisle 8 at Lowe’s if you drank it instead of putting on your walls. As it warms it gets better... a little bit but you can eat white Elmer and get the same experience.

Alvinne Mad Tom 3.5
Apr. ’15. A 0.33 l bottle from Ivana Trgovina shop, Split. It poured hazy yellow body with a huge head, although not a gusher. Very aromatic nose, a lot of coriander, pine and that lightly milky bread, almost biscuit malt. Boldly bitter flavor, grapefruit, pine, plain herbal hops. Medium bodied, but really full for just 4%. Finished bitter, but also a bit acidic with biscuit malt showed up as well. A really bitter bitter, and a good one!

Alvinne Bolleville Calvados Barrel Oak Aged 3.6
Pours black, small grey head. Smell def. has some sourness ( I think this is dated from when Alvinne used to have some problems ) sharp, some oak. not nearly as heavy as one might think it will be. Taste is sour, very dry, oak, some light boozyness. roasted malts are very faded, rise up a tiny bit towards the ending. Hmm. I really don’t like the style of sour stouts, but this one doesn’t have to much of the black malt-side, making it a kind of sour-ale thats enjoyable.

Alvinne Omega 2.9
Poured a murky brown colour with no head. Carbonation low and fine. Aroma of yeast, fermented citrus/lemon and fermented green apples giving it a distinct sour smell. Taste is quite sour with tartness of grapes and green apple acidity. Light body. Crisp and dry with a sour acidic tartness on the finish. Initially not one I liked but the taste developed as I sipped the beer.

Alvinne / Laugar Ich bin ein Berliner Ryesse 2.7
330ml bottle from Beer52:
This one was quite an odd beer on the face of it, a Belgian brewed Berliner weisse that was collaborated on with a Spanish brewery but I can’t say it was one I was particularly looking forward to trying. It started with a lot of funk & tart coming through, particularly the taste but once it settled down some & opened up a little there wwas some nice citrus flavours coming through on top of a little wheat & the odd background fruit. Given it’s not one of my favourite styles to beer & the fact that I found this one a little sour & one dimensional, it’s probably not one that I’ll be picking up again but it’s always good to try a new beer I guess.

Alvinne Mano Negra 3.5
Bottle share, many thanks to Leighton. As ’Alvinne Mano Negra’. Following the gush it’s a murky dirty brown beer, small foamy brown head, some sediment. Aroma is redcurrant, some coffee and malt vinegar. Body is medium, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is chocolatey, vinegar and red wine. I tasted this one ’blind’ without knowing the style, and I thought it tasted like a rounded chocolatey sour brown. Would be pretty disappointed if I picked this up thinking I was getting a stout, but it’s still an enjoyable beer if you don’t mind them tart.

Honey co!oured, no head. Body is full and low carb for a quad. Aroma slightly medicinal. Taste has candi sugar, plenty of alcohol, some orange, strong malt body. Reminds me of southern comfort, in a wierd way. Not great - some interesting elements but too many classic quad elements missing for me.
