Alvinne / Laugar Ich bin ein Berliner Framboos
Hazy medium red body with a small, long-lived, light pink head. Strong aroma of tart raspberries and raspberry candy, and funk and citrus in the back. Strong flavour of acidic and tart raspberries, citrus (or rather, citrus flavoured vitamin C pills) and sodium bicarbonate. Very acidic taste, far to acidic for me, this is like sucking a lemon. Light body, dry texture, lively carbonation. Hard to drink, but sort of entertaining.

Alvinne The Oak Melchior Double Barrel Aged
Chewy and delicious... normally this beer would be a solid malt forward offering that I may overlook but the double barrel aging brings this beer to another level altogether ! Layers of sherry soaked raisins, bourbon soaked vanilla with some lingering tannins, soft date roll, hints of coconut, butterscotch and just enough dark fruit to keep it interesting. Touch of boozy heat on the finish keeps it from getting too cloying, really nice under the radar of barrel aged beer offerings !

Alvinne Morpheus Undressed Foederbier
Keg @ BBB. Pours hazy reddish brown with a small frothy reddish khaki head that leaves some sparse spotty trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and tiny fruity with dark rye bread, crispbread, lemon juice, sour raspberries, wood, moist soil, leather and lemon zest. Taste is very tiny sweet, sour, slightly malty and tiny fruity. Mouthfeel is dry, tart, tiny mouth-puckering and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour and malty with bread, lemon juice and leather. Perhaps a bit too sour but I like the malt base. Fairly clean and refreshing.

Alvinne Wild West Grape Edition 2015
Keg @ BBB. Pours hazy tiny burnt orange with a frothy offwhite head that leaves some sticky lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is tiny malty, slightly fruity and tiny funky with crackers, white bread, lemon juice, grapes, apple cider vinegar, hay, moist wood, barnyard and lemon zest. Taste is sour, slightly malty and fruity. Mouthfeel is dry, tart, mouth-puckering and medium bodied. Finish is heavy sour with bread, Granny Smith apples, lemon juice, sour grapes, hay and barnyard. Bit too heavy on the acidity and green apple character.

Bouteille 50cl, BB 11/2025, batch# 799.

500 ml bottle. Pours lightly hazy orangy red, small off-white head. Very green tannins aroma, like raw grape twigs, bright red fruit, acidic & vinegar notes, Light body, highly acetic, slight fruit sugar. Short finish, but leaves a dry mouthfeel. Taste light malts, lactic sourness, making the fruit flavours disappear virtually completely. .

Sorry Sofie ...

Piana spora, nietrwała, pozostaje w postaci pierzynki delikatnie oblepiając szkło. Barwa złoto pomarańczowa, mętna, sporo pływających drobinek. Aromat wypełnia głównie cukier kandyzowany, rodzynki, suszone morele, daktyle i miód pitny, w tle przyprawy, zioła i siano. Wysycenie średnie do niskiego, drobne. Wyklejające, oleiste i puszyste w odbiorze.
Trunek w smaku i konsystencji przypomina angielski, czy raczej belgijski Barley Wine zmieszany z Quadruplem. Ciekawe...

This pours a fairly clear deep amber with an inch of foam. Smells of fruity, woody sour notes with a hint of Brett. Fruity sour taste with some wood, Very small suggestion of Brett but I could be imagining that. All around, smooth, tasty, easy to drink for 11% abv. And, it was not a gusher. This is worthy of a repurchase.

Gusher and an oozer if not totally cold. Cloudy tea coloured with some floaties. Excellent head retention and decent lacing. Smells oaky, tart, and full of mustard seeds. Boozy too, as well as vinous. The taste reflects the taste to a T. The booze is a bit harsh on the back of the throat but good mouthfeel overall. I notice some malty sweet notes that remind me of a Barleywine. Pretty good beer but it is a tad dear. Over $12 for 750mL? ? My Alaskan bombers are bigger but are 651 ml. This one WAS filled near to the top.

Bottle. Hazy orange, minimal quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is freshly sour to tart, citrus, funk, green apples, hay, slight horse blanket. Taste is sour with just a slight hint of vinegar, other than that a balanced sourness with citrus, green apples, berries, apricotes, in the far back a hint of malty sweetness to balance it out, finishes dry with more berries. Medium body, low almost flat carbo. Very good.

Collab of Alvinne and Laugar (which was present on last year’s Alvinne Craft Beer Festival), bottle says 4% ABV instead of 3.7% but I assume it is the same beer. A Berliner Weisse with raspberry, a clear nod to the tradition of adding Himbeersirup to the beer in order to make it sweeter - but in this case, the aim clearly was to produce a sour fruit ale, of course. Moussy, dense, rather thick, off-white, lightly lacing head, misty robe with stunningly beautiful, deep amberish orange colour with salmon pink hue, some darker dead yeast dots here and there. Aroma of indeed a lot of fresh red raspberries including that typical salted tomato-like smell I usually associate with them when used in beer, but the fruit sweetness is stronger here; other impressions include raspberry vinegar, unsweetened yoghurt, lemon juice, some stale sweat but integrated into the whole rather than being a false note, lots of raw rhubarb, unripe plum, hint pomegranate, vague orange peel whiff somewhere; adding the sediment does bring a certain, notably unpleasant manure-like odour which disturbs me, but luckily this fades away quickly. Refreshingly sour, crisp onset, tons of unripe stonefruit and even puckering lemony acidity, with a soft, ’fluffy’ sweetishness of red raspberry coming behind; spritzy but ’refined’ carbonation, long-stretched and very drying lactic sourness (sour cream) pairing well with the fruit sours, over a pleasantly bready middle, a tad soapy too and surprisingly ’full’ for a 4% ABV beer. Actual sourish and sweetish raspberry flavor lingers in the back with again retronasal salted tomato aspects and raw rhubarb-like sourness drying the throat. Very yeasty feeling too, a bit starch-like, adding breadiness. Lovely little sour but one for the true ’sourheads’ I suppose - then again there is always the possibility to add Himbeersirup, of course... I love the way the soft sourness and subtle sweetness of raspberry has been integrated here, this beer is teeming with fruit, and it being a bit on the ’dirty’ side cannot bother me at all. Recommended.
