Cerveja âmbar, com creme de boa formação. Aroma frutado e cítrico, da mesma forma que o sabor, não muito marcantes e moderados. O sabor acentua melhor a presença do malte. Corpo médio pra leve, com baixa carbonatação e final seco. Decente, mas não memorável.

Dec. ’15. A 0.33 l bottle from a local Tommy supermarket. This one poured a clear brownish-red body with a tiny head atop. Caramel aroma, coarser. Flavor was lightly bitter, roasted caramel, only a bit fruity. Light herbal hops spiced it up. Thin bodied, but absolutely normal for the style. Finished lightly sweet with pleasant, elegant toasted malt notes, especially the smooth biscuit. Okay, a pleasant Irish ale. It’s been a while since my last one.

Draught Good thick off-white head over clear orange beer. Rosewater, bit cheesy New World hops, sweetened orangepeel. Bitterish but ending again in rosewater; citrus. Rather refreshing; light to medium bodied. Maybe mainstream, but certainly not bad IPA.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Clear dark amber, small off-white head. Both the aroma and the taste a malt-driven, caramelized sugar, plum jam, dark honey. A hint of toasted bread and a touch of spicy hops in the finish. The somewhat abrasive carbonation is the only downside. Not bad.

Clear dark amber color with beige head. Aroma has mostly caramel malts and some earthy hops. Taste starts malty but not sweet, a bit astringent and hoppy on the finish. Medium to light body with low carbonation, feels a bit watery. Not bad overall, it’s easy drinking and has a nice aroma but it tastes quite bland.

(1L bottle from Dublin Airport; Bottle #2213 of 2500; BBD: March 2016) Poured into a stemmed tulip glass at fridge temperature reveals a pitch black body with two-finger beige head. Decent retention that leaves lace. Aroma is roasted malt and bourbon barrel with a hint of salty licorice. Creamy texture, soft carbonation, medium body and a lingering licorice finish. Flavour remains true to the aroma with notes of wood, licorice and roasted malt. The whiskey presence never becomes overpowering but remains nicely complementary. Well done and nicely sessionable but not overwhelming in its complexity.
