St Ives Old Bastard
I’m a bit of a fan of Malt beers, but this one just doesn’t work for me. the malt is overpoweing, and the flavour overall is overly burnt. never again will this little horror cross my tongue

A reddish brown with a light brownish head. sweet dark crystal malt, definate caramelized and roasted aroma. slight biscuity and burnt toast maltyness, with appealing roasted bitterness. Unfortunately the malt is too cloying.

St Ives Gothic Gold Lager
floral hop aromas. light gold with small head. hoppy pilzner/wet blanket/bubblegum transitional flavour. thin, dry finish. not bad, the transitional flavour threw me off, it started out like a typical pilzner imitation, then went to a slightly unpleasant wet blamket then finished off lightly estery with bubblegum.

St Ives Old Bastard
Sweet caramelly malts, finish is hoppy, citrusy, a hint of grassyness, with little bitterness. Uncomplicated, sweetish palate, short-ish finish, but fairly tasty. (Tap Brissy beer festival 03')
