[7845-20151023] Cask. Apple pear fruit aroma. Hazy, light yellow green body with a quick foamy white head. Super fruity pear apple juice flavour. Medium body. Good, not sure what the bacon deal is though. (7/3/7/3/15) 3.5

Sunnybrook Farm Ironwood Sizzlin’ Bacon Brown Sugar Bliss
[Cask at Cask Days 2015] Cask #14 of the fest. Pours a cloudy very pale white-yellow-green with no head. Slightly sweet apple aroma with no bacon coming through for me, just smells like a pleasant enough cider. Flavour’s the same, slightly sweet apple cider and no bacon. Average bodied. Nothing wrong with this but I got no bacon, shame.

Sunnybrook Farm Ironwood Sizzlin’ Bacon Brown Sugar Bliss
Cask days 2015. Good tart apple aroma, with some light smokiness and distinct brown sugar sweetness with touches of mollasses. Carb is soft, mouth feel is good. Finish is all tart, crisp apples with that distict brown sugar rounding off the cider.

Sunnybrook Farm Ironwood Sizzlin’ Bacon Brown Sugar Bliss
2015-10-23. Hazy pale yellow body, headless. Mild, lightly woody earthy apple aroma, whisper of smoke, maybe? 6+ Flavour has sweet apple base, lightly earthy vaguely smokey character. 6+ Smooth average bodied palate. Decent but a touch odd at the same time. 6/3/6/3/13+ Cask Days 2015, Toronto.

Sunnybrook Farm Screamin’ Peach
2014-10-25. Cloudy pastel yellow body is headless. 2+ Aroma of pears and dry apples, light farmhouse like touches and acetone, not much peach character. Average bodied palate. Flavour of dry apples, pear, apple seeds, brief sweet apple character, lingering notes of astringent apple cores in the finish. Okay, pretty rough around the ages. On cask at Cask Days, Toronto.

Sunnybrook Farm Ironwood Hard Cider
341ml bottle - 6.0% ABV. Very pale gold - fizzy diminishing white head (3-). Mild but solid aroma - ripe apple, a bit tart, not all that sweet. Taste follows - simple acidic apple, not sweetened, just sweet from the apple - a little warming. Light body, slightly acidic, decent carbonation with a quick crisp finish - quite good!

Sunnybrook Farm Ironwood Hard Cider
Bottle via udbeernut. Pale yellow nearly clear pour. Slow carbonation. No head, as expected. Slight alcohol twang up front. Nose of faint apple and wood chips. Sparkling sweet start, lean body and a slim fruit finish make this a very drinkable and enjoyable lunch drink. (Lunch today was bean burritos, chicken tenders with a .5 pound side of crispy bacon). YUM!

Sunnybrook Farm Iced Apple
Sampled at the winery. Deep golden pour. The nose has a lot of sweet apple but is also quite alcoholic. An odd sort of vegetal character seems to be there on the back as well. Ripe apple flavour up front with a touch of spice. A little bit of candied sweetness and a bit of cooked caramel. The palate is very sweet initially with a lack of acid (as in the iced pear) to balance. Hot flavour and finish make this somewhat of a disappointment.

Sunnybrook Farm Iced Pear
Sampled at the winery. Deep golden colour with a sticky set of legs coating the glass. The nose is of ripe pear with a little bit of almost smoky phenolics coming off. Spiced fruit and deep rich pear flavour as well. The aroma is lovely but the palate is fairly unbalanced with not enough acid to support the intense sweetness of the cider. It comes across a little bit flabby as a result, unfortunately.

Sunnybrook Farm Bosc Pear
Deep golden pour. The aroma is great. Bright fresh pear aroma with a little bit of spicy tannic aroma as well. Lots of ripe pear fruit and a nice sweet whiff of clove and baked fruit. Fresh and juicy. It leans sweet but there is some light acidity providing some structure to the base cider. Good stuff here really. The only thing I tried that I really enjoyed.

Pours a pale yellow-straw colour with prickly light carbonation. A little bit of apple flavour but there is also a touch of tartness. Firm palate and a little bit lingering apple flavour. It’s okay, but it’s pretty typical.

Sunnybrook Farm Poire Sec
At the winery. Pours a clear pale yellow with no head. Quite dry, and slightly odd (to me) aroma of pear, other sweet fruit and floral notes. Flavour: Pear takes getting used to, not as sweet as expected, also really dry. Average bodied. I liked it but didn’t love it, it’s an acquired taste in my opinion, i think I would need to get used to it.

Sunnybrook Farm Iced Pear
At the winery. Pours a clear yellow-orange with no head. Nice sweet aroma of pears and beeswax (thanks jerc & mabel). Sweet and lightly tart flavour of pears and other fruit -- quite different, it’s enjoyable. Medium bodied. Quite good, I like this one more then their regular Pear (the Poire Sec), which, in my opinion, is an acquired taste.

Bottle [341ml] courtesy of GregClow. Pours a clear, bubbly, incredibly pale gold with no head -- looks almost like carbonated water. Mild aroma of sweet apples, wood, sugar and white wine. Tart apple flavour with some sugary sweetness, some acidity, white wine and a long dry finish. A touch too carbonated for my liking. Light bodied. Just O.K.

Sunnybrook Farm Iced Pear
2010-02-13. Dark yellow body with some legs on the glass. 3+ Interesting aroma is not what I was expecting, and is perplexing at first with some odd notes - something that my memory puts somewhere between Christmas cake and beeswax candles is the dominant note. 6+ Flavour is tart around the edges with a sweeter core. Fruit, pears, beeswax like note, sweet middle, odd fruit skin character in the finish with occasional notes of butterscotch covered pears as it warms up. Pleasant, very different, and a bit odd at times. Bottle from the winery

2009-12-25. Pale yellow body. Sweet butterscotch and florals in the aroma . Flavour is similar, sweet fruit, touch of butterscotch with a dry finish light alcohol and acidity. I didn’t get a lot of distinctly pear like fruit out of it. Pleasant, quite different. Interesting. Bottle from the winery, vintage not recorded.

Sunnybrook Farm Ironwood Hard Cider
On tap at the Merchant Ale House. Pours a clear straw yellow, closer to water with a hint of yellow than to yellow. No head. Big sweet apple aromas a touch of champagne yeast. On the thin side of medium, but with loads of very fine carbonation. Ascetic acid, little bit of apple, lots of tartness. Finishes with more tangy acid. Not bad, just rather empty and one dimensional.

Sunnybrook Farm Ironwood Hard Cider
Bottle from the winery. Very pale colour - almost clear, really, with just a faint gold tinge. Aroma is mild with tart apple essence and a hint of off-dry white wine. Crisp, well-carbonated body. Flavour is nice and tart, Granny Smith and Ginger Gold apples, a bit of sweetness in the middle, a hint of the wine suggested by the aroma, dryish finish. Fairly simple, but refreshing.

Sunnybrook Farm Spiced Apple
2008-07-21. Crisp yellow body. Spicey aroma is not quite what I expected, the most noticeable to me is clove, with other spices like cinnamon less prominent. Sweetish aroma, light spice in the flavour it comes off as a bit watery at times, but smooth. Lingering flavours of apples and apple cores in the finish and aftertaste. Pretty decent, but I think that whether or not you appreciate the spice profile on this will dictate your overall impression. Winery suggests serving it warm as an alternative, which I can see being potentially rather nice. Sampled at the winery.
