Cerveza Colonos del Llanquihue
(bottle March 2009, supermarket) Cloudy yellow with white head that last. Skunky acid smell, citric and kinda hopy floral. Taste is so citric that I can not recognize anything else, no malt or hops, little bitter aftertaste. High carbonation contribute to the acidic flavor. Maybe a contaminated bottle or really close to expiration date (90 days according to Colonos)

Pale yellow and cloudy with a small but persistent white head. Very fruity aroma of banana, strawberry, lemon, and also grains. Flavor is bittersweet with balanced bitterness, fruity, malty, and a rich citric touch. Thin texture and medium body. Excellent Pilsener!!

Bottle, a clear gold with a bubbly white head. Grassy hop aroma. Very crisp and clean palate with strong grassy flavours. A well made lager.

Appearance: pale blond color, semi-turbid. Medium head, of white color, persistent and good adherence at glass. Aroma: sweet of pale malts, citric like peel orange. Low presence of hops, marinade dark olives touch. Flavor: nice citric start, that progress in floral touches. Medium hoppy finish, sweet from pale malty. Palate: medium to low carbonation. Light body, slight semi-oily texture. No complex, exotic lager (no pilsener), refreshing and nice.

(in bottle, supermarket in Chile), A very fresh beer, microbrewery standard, nice appearance, the bottle had a old style feel. About the beer: medium i.b.u, soft palate sensation, a good beer to taste if you come to this country.

(in bottle, supermarket in Chile). In the aroma, they appear softly, the malt dries and overcoat the herbs. It is of a clear, but cloudy and turbid color. In the flavor they intermingle one average amargor, with one very light acid. In the palate has very good body and good texture. I am not sure well that is a beer pilsener, but if is more than a lager.

Bottle, February 2007, Bottled, thanks to the chilean gang, Lilith, Nigredo & Panzerfaust! Slightly rancid, with a strong grass aroma. Healthy, shinny, golden color with a solid white head and sparky carbonatation. Taste is malty, some bread, grainy, nice bitter sensation, slightly medicinal aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium, smooth, but really fresh and refreshing. Really nice, quaffing, summertime unfitered "premium lager".

Bottled, thanks Lilith, Nigredo & Panzerfaust! Muddy dark yellow with rich, lively airy head. Lightly citric buttery nose. Light bodied with gently soft mouthfeel. Like whipped cream with lemon! Low hop rate and very low bitterness. The lemon doesn’t disturb all that much here, but without it it could have been a very good lager.

A beer from the 10th region and it is clear that when you escape the beers from region metropolitano there is some hope for the Chilean beer scene. It is indeed cloudy in the glass and topped with a good fluffy head. Sublte hop and malt aroma are there but this is not a specialty here. I agree that this has many more ale characteristics than that of a pilsner. In fact the departure from a lager style makes it a more attractive drink. Thank you to Panzerfaust and Lilith for this and other presents as a gesture of welcome to a wonderful country (again).

A pale cloudy appearance. Malty aroma. Too much CO2 produce an acid flavour. A good not industrialy beer.

This beer has a pale yellow body - hue apperance and a coarse white scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is bitter.

Smooth white headed pale amber lager with sediments which makes it cloudy. Head lasts for long and laces well. Aroma of fresh hops giving subtle flowery notes and some citric hints of orange. Tastes more like an ale than a lager. Flavor has a very good bittersweet character with notes of malt, cereal and some thin fruits. It ends with some astringency but not unpleasant at all. Excelent balanced and well-developed beer. One of the best from Chile.

Tart aroma. Pours like a wheat. Citrusy sweet flavor with a weird fruitiness. Pretty decent and RARE brew.

RAYBOY01’s wife brought back some interesting brews from her extended trip to South America, and this one is a goody. I’m frankly surprized to see it listed as a Pilsener. It poured a hazy yellow color, almost white like a wit, with a bubbly, seltzer-like head. The aroma was sweet, smelling like barley malt and wheat with sugar on it. There’s no hops in the nose. This has very lively (but soft) carbonation and is quite spritzy in the mouth. The flavor is much like a light golden ale with some citric fruitiness and a dash of honey. There’s no hops noticeable in the taste or in the finish, which is mildly sweet, but clean. A Pilsener? I doubt it. But, Good? Yes.
