Westerham William Wilberforce Freedom Ale 2.2
Bottle conditioned 500ml. Pours a slightly cloudy amber with persistent thin white head. Aroma is orange, tangerine & lemon peel, spice and grassy. Finish is medium length, bittersweet and soapy notes. Balanced, but not very exciting or interesting.

Westerham Audit Ale 3.6
Pours a clear dark amber with a small creamy off-white head. Malty burnt caramel and fruitcake (brandy and fruit) aroma. Sweet malty beginning followed by burn’t brandy soaked raisins with a long mellow bitter finish. A very nice pint, I think I’ll have another.

Westerham National Trust Viceroy India Pale Ale 3.5
Pale amber ale with a floral aroma. The palate is zesty maltiness with a hint of apple, the finish is bitter hopped but lacking a little depth. This is a nice take on a Kentish ale, the hops are a little bit muted, but quite pleasant.

Westerham Little Scotney Best Bitter 2.8
Pours copper to amber with a thin to medium white head. Good lacing. Aroma is tangerine, earthy, lemon, floral. Caramel sweetness balanced by the slightly harsh Target hop, but not much body. Nice long finish if a touch metallic. Well balanced ale, easy drinking, but doesn’t stand out.

Westerham Little Scotney Pale Ale 2.8
Pours clear with an amber yellow with a thin head and mild carbonation. Aroma has promise with lemon, orange, tangerine, floral, hint of biscuit, but doesn’t quite deliver on the flavour, which is a little harsh possibly down to the Target hops in there. Decent length finish with some bitterness, yet also soapiness. Thin and lacking body. Not bad and slipped down nicely, but wanted more malt and/or hop flavours coming through.

Westerham Audit Ale 3.9
Pours a beautifully clear dark amber with medium carbonation and a good cream head. Aroma is malt forward with some dark crystal in there, but there’s hops there too from the Goldings. Caramel, dark sugar, raisin, tangerine, blackcurrant, biscuit, with some smoke and spice. Nice boozy, smoky finish. Decent beer.

Westerham God’s Wallop 3.2
Half pint, cask, shared with Finn at Grape and Grain, Crystal Palace. Low, beige head over a clear mahogany coloured body. Fragile lacing. Smell of roasted malts,-mid-sweet. Nicely roasted flavour character with hints of caramel and brown sugar balanced by pine bitterness to the finish. Fits the season very well (Greater London 28.11.2015).

Westerham National Trust Viceroy India Pale Ale 2.7
Pours clear and golden amber and with decent carbonation. Some classic Fuggles aromas with some tangerine, floral, mint, caramel and lemon peel in there. Well balanced classic English-style IPA, just not very interesting. Would prefer punchier and more hop-forward style beer.

Westerham 1965 2.6
Cask at The Railway, Putney as ’Westerham 1965’. Dark orange, clear, still, creamy white head leaves full lacing. Aroma is apple peel, white bread. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is apple peel, white pepper, apple pie with cinnamon, resin and a soft bitterness. Not a big fan. This was the most popular beer on the bar by far - about 5 pints were drawn for different customers after my half. They can have it!

Westerham Bohemian Rhapsody 3.8
Bottle by Cuso, thanks! Quite good beer falling well within the style, though maybe a little bit too hoppy. That is no flaw on the hedonistic scale though. Grassy, flowery. Subtle honeyish maltiness. Very good.

Westerham Bohemian Rhapsody 3
Clean, clear crisp lager with all the pros and cons that go with that. Mild carbonation, clear, straw yellow. Those classic saaz hops come through nicely in the aroma, although would prefer a little more. Flavours straw, grass, touch of lemon, but would like more Pilsner malt in there. Nice bitter and surprisingly long finish if a hint of soapiness. Decent lager, even if that’s damning it with faint praise.

Westerham Hop Rocket India Pale Ale 3.7
Bottle. Initially too cold from fridge, but when warmed up flavour and aroma improved considerably. Colour surprisingly golden for Maris only and clear. Light carbonation, would have liked a touch more. Pine, resin and citrus aromas, but flavours better than the aromas. Flavours of marmalade, citrus, touch of mint, herbs and caramel and slight hint of soapiness on the bitter and long finish. Well balanced considering the hops they’ve thrown at it. Good showcase for English hops.

Westerham Double Stout 2.8
500ml bottle. Decent and persistent yellowy head for a stout. Aromas of chocolate, coffee and raisin, but not particularly powerful. Some booziness and a medium finish. Flavour is as you might expect if nothing more, some coffee, chocolate, touch of ash, raison. Nice enough, but nothing more.

Very pale golden, visible carbonation and no head. Nose is creamy lemon. Initial taste is keen rising bitterness, soft lemon and a little pepper. Carbonation is firm and clean mouthfeel. Finishes clean, white berry wodge of bitterness and lingers a bit soapy.
