cmacklin	2.5 Great Western Light 473ml can. Pours a clear pale gold with a small, foamy, short lived, white head that leaves spotty lacing. Faint aroma of grainy pale malt, red apple and floral hops. Sweet flavour of grainy pale malt, red apple, light lemon and grassy hops in a crisp, dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a thin, watery texture and average carbonation. Clean, refreshing and went down easy after mowing the lawn in the summer heat. Good for what it is. Monday, September 11, 2023

didgerito	1.9 Great Western Brewhouse Pilsner Smells pilsnery, and decent. Tastes pilsnery but a bit disappointing. The finish is herbal and slightly sulpheric in an unenjoyable way, but overall you can still chug it if you need to. KeefOz	2.1 Great Western Brewhouse Pilsner From a can poured a crystal clear amber with 1cm of bright white open foam that diminished quickly to a blotchy cap that laced OK. Carbonation low, lively and medium to coarse. Aroma moderately strong of pale malt; no obvious hops. Taste is similar; no real bitterness. Light body bordering on watery. Smooth with a short finish. Cimbasso	2.1 Great Western Original 16 Canadian Pale/Blonde Ale 16oz glass on draught at a restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Looks pleasant enough with a golden colour and a white head. Taste has plenty of malt flavour but is ruined by a taste of boiled cabbage. Some dry bitterness at the end, but not very nice to drink. Not recommended. Tuesday, May 10, 2022
DeanF	2.6 Great Western Original 16 Canadian Pale/Blonde Ale Has okay foam and deep clear gold body. It smells like soft grain left behind the dishwasher. Taste is okay sweet grain, soft caramel notes. Ends very smooth, soft carbonation, reasonably crisp. George999	3 Great Western Original 16 Canadian Copper Ale Aroma: initially sweet malt with lightly toasted malts and caramel notes. There is a touch of vanilla as well. Hops are very low and grassy. Appearance: Crystal clear body with a dark copper color with slight orange and Auburn hues. Head pours thick but quickly dissipates thin but rests over the entire beer. The texture is mostly small bubbles with a few medium scattered throughout. Flavor: Carmel forward flavors, low malt cracker flavor, hops are low with grassy flavors. The bittering hops are low but encourages another drink. Balance is malty with a slightly sweet finish. Mouthfeel: Body is thin to medium with medium carbonation. No alcohol warmth, is not creamy and low astringency from the bittering hops. Overall: Balanced, but not a lot of complexity. A refreshing beer easy drinking and simply enjoyable. Only thing I would do is strengthen the hop flavor a little more to add additional depth. Friday, March 15, 2019
