Cask. Golden colour, small slightly off-white fluffy head. Aroma is grassy, wooden and a it caramel malty as well as earthy. Flavour is surprisingly fruity and nectary with some mild wooden hints. Also some slight herbal notes towards the finish. Not that bitter at all actually.

Cask in the new wheatsheaf. The beer seems to have warmed up a bit at last. Aroma is quite appley and yeasty, small nutty pale malts. Taste is better with fruity lemon and apple with a more solid biscuity malt base, its a bit hazy and estery which isnt the best for a cask ale. But i still drank it.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. This beer is tennis themed, presumably because of the Wimbledon Championships starting tomorrow. Copper gold with malt and fruit in the aroma, plus a hint of Marmite. Sweet peachy taste. Some bitterness. Rather liked it. Hate tennis, though.

Cask conditioned handpump Brunswick Derby. A copper coloured beer with a whitish head. The aroma is plain with a little fruit skins, and some sweet malts. The taste is malty to start with some citrus flavours coming through later. A bit boring. Made me realise why I rarely drink pints.

Hand-pulled at The Pullman Bar, Helsinki. Hazy amber with a medium white head. Earthy, even smoked aroma. Smoked flavours that gradually tastes sweeter. Light-bodied. I am not a big fan of smoked flavours in beer, but I suppose a point for originality is warranted.

Cask Conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London
Amber color. Light aroma, the flavor is bolder; sweetish malt and caramel combination, lightly fruity (so far, positive), light earthy touch, possibly even smokey, but also a very light sourness (mostly in the aroma) that lets presume something may be going wrong with this beer. Not complex, but pleasant enough; a beer to try again in better conditions.

Cask (O’Connell’s, Tampere), pint glass. Begins with a light haze to the medium brown-red hue, capped by a tight, off-white head. The aroma is quite bold, full of toffee, cherries, chocolate/coffee and cookies. Overall it comes across sweet with some dark fruit acidity. The flavour is much more reserved by comparison, starting with light toffee / biscuits and finishing with cherries and apples. Soft roasted overtone. Light bodied with a watery / silky texture and soft carbonation. Banana and apple skins crop up with warmth. Big nose, but a little flat on the tongue.

Light orange, dishwater head. Simple UK bitter aroma - malty and some bitter hops. Simple sweet, slightly watery, and fruity body. Not much finish, perhaps slightly papery or dusty. I’m left wanting. But not really for more of the same! Maybe OK in summer. Drink their ’Pint’ instead.

Very dark orange, small spongy head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt and dusty hops. Mouthfeel is sharp and pleasantly refreshing, not quite watery. hints of brown almost sourness. Slightly drying, not quite resiny, hops give it a pleasant bitteness which stays for quite a long finish. For 3.8% this is a superb creation.
