Draught at Ye Olde Cider Bar. Clear amber body, no head, minimal lacing. Ripe apples on the nose. Taste of ripe apples, lemon and sweet rum. Dry and sweet ending. Rather sweet. Okay in smaller amounts, I’m not a dedicated cider drinker. (Newton Abbot 28.04.2017).

On cask at the Albert Inn, Totnes, Devon. Appearance - golden amber with no head and no bubbles. Nose - stewed apples and light boozy note. Taste - deep apple and booze flavour almost like a liqueur. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - lovely big cider.

From cask at GBBF 2013. Yellow gold color. Very spicy taste and quite an agressive finish. But not bad...

cask at leicester beer festival. pours a slightly cloudy orange. sadly not one for me. again, this was a little too dry to my taste. but also, as other raters have said, a little vinegary? maybe been fermented too long.

A hazy amber cider with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of vinegar and apples. The flavor is dominated by boring apples combined with a light note of vinegar, leading to a dry finish.

[3201-20100731] Cask. Popcorn apple skins aroma. Slightly hazy, light brown orange body with a quick foamy white head. Apple skins continue in the flavour with thick apple aftertaste, like sauce, which hides the alcohol. Medium body. Drinkable, great to sample.

Polycask at Merton Beer Festival, sneaky glass before festival starts 15-07-01 Btw this is labelled at 8%. Pours quite dark gold, in fact edging towards amber, some haze but it looks good, if a little different. Plenty of zest, sparkle and life to this with bubbles leaping forth, nice slightly acidic appley comes off of nose. Zappy, and tangy in mouth, nice rustic feel, but very tasty, good oakiness, apples are crisp and this is dry at end. Very nice. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

A Mes rate. Barrel at Nottingham Beer Festival.
Dark golden brown colour. Looks more like a bitter than a cider. Guessing it was nearing the end of the barrel. Aroma of unburnt matches, lovely juicy apple and some very slight sulphur. Doesn’t sound to great I know but I liked it. Slightly metallic flavour but still very tasty. Lots of tree bearing fruit, apples obviously but pears and other stuff too. Oaky, earthy and pretty damn tasty. Much more dry than medium. Feels ok at first but as soon as you swallow it rids the mouth of water. Very good. Oh, it was showing as being 8%.

Cask, GBBF 2004. Gold, no head and flat. Enticing aromas of spirity christmas pudding and woody calvados but way too confusing in the mouth with nasty alcoholic apple skin notes and a suggestion of devon fudge. Dry and fudgy in the finish.

It has a pretty traditional aroma, but its hidden under a rather overwhelming rum presence - very reminiscent of rum and raisin ice cream. The palate is not particularly dry or assertive and the fruit flavours are rather muted. Rum again dominates, with some toffee. I rather liked it though. From the barrel at GBBF 2004.

Barrell?@GBBF04’. Interesting, even though i wasn’t a fan. Nail polish and calvados in the aroma, heaps of varnishy cosmetic type flavours, some appleskin and traditional cider flavours, but to be honest, i didn’t really like, i pretty much gave it points for being interesting.

Definitely a cider not a cider style beer. Gravity GBBF & P’Boro 8% Medium Dry Cider with a rum cask finish, the rum varies tub by tub an d sweetens the end considerably. Better at P’Boro. Will appear at CoalHeavers Autumn Festival see BeerintheEvening
