Kinsale Williams Wheat
Draught at the Folkhouse, Kinsale. Pours a very cloudy golden with a pillowy white head. Looks gorgeous. Aroma is strong banana, vanilla and toffee. Quite enticing. Taste is lovely level but strong sweetness with a very light sourness. Full and flavoursome with a good lasting aftertaste. Yeasty, but not sickeningly so. As good a Weissbier (something I am normally not a fan of) as money can buy.

Kinsale Williams Wheat
Draught at the headline. Cloudy gold, decent lasting white head. Banana and lemon zest nose. Flavour is sweet banana, a little clove spice and some oily, fruity hops. Light enough body, bright and fizzy, short bright finish. Not usually a fan of this style but this is really good.

Keg. Clear golden colour with a medium white head. Weak malty body with a weak hoppy finish. Boring standard pale lager.

Kinsale Irish Lager
Not much more than a slight upgrade on your typical lager. Strong hop presence, light golden color with a thin white head. If you can find it, I would recommend Kinsale Ale over this one (milwaukee Irishfest has it)

Kinsale Irish Lager
Had this in Kinsale...actually thought the brewery was done and dusted, but apparently the are just moved to Cork while they are looking for more land in Kinsale...hopefully they will soon have bigger selection. This one was oki for lager but will always prefer a stout. Ligt gold with tiny head, light aroma of citrus, some flowers and yeast. Flavour is sweet with little bitter and dry finish.

Nose of sweet flowers and malt. Taste is nutty and semisweet. Very slight bitterness at the end. Nothing special, but would work as a session beer it choices where slim. Looks like a budweiser.

On tap at Claddaugh’s pub in Newport, KY. I’m sorry but this a MUCH better beer than is reviewed here. Very drinkable lager with subtle malt flavor and decent bitter dry finish. I don’’t understand the hatred for this beer.

Kinsale Irish Lager
On tap at the Tap Tavern in Kinsale. I just noticed that I had missed adding a rating for this one back in May. Pours a clear light gold with a lacy white head. Aroma noble hops and bread. Tastes and finishes a bit like a Pils.

750mL swingtop, carried back from Kinsale. Pours a hazybright copper with a lacy off-white head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon and citrus. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet taste of brown sugar, figs, oranges, fruit and spices. Dry spicy and lightly pine-tinged finish.

Kinsale Landers Ale
(Old rating discovered in a dusty pile of forgotten notes.) This is from a bottle I dragged back from Kinsale. The brewery said they were going out of business due to the lack of a brewer. Wonder if they’re still around? Pours clear amber with a lacy white head. Medium-light body and medium carbonation. Aroma is a bit dusty, but a nutty character comes through. Has most of the standard pale lager characteristics, but the taste seems a bit vacant.

Found this one on draught in Geneva, Illinois. Bright golden pour with a thin, white head; slightly astringent, citrusy nose with a pit of hops; typically bland flavor; strong finish. Mine tapered off to a bit of aluminum towards the end.

Bottle. Big aroma of choclate and coffee. Unfortunatly these same roasted flavours come across far too bitter on the palate. Unpleasant thick mouthfeel also. Not nice.

bottle - Pours piss yellow with a thin head and a corn malt aroma. It’s sweet and light like a typical pale lager. There’s a trace of hops and nothing offensive about it. There’s just not much there to justify drinking it.

A bottle conditioned pilsener! Golden and very almost clear with a short lived head. Pretty heavy sediment. Decent hoppy aroma. Light body. Quite flavourful, dry, a little fruity and unusually tart, quite unpleasantly so. A strange example of a pilsener.

Kinsale Cream Stout
Bottle. Pours a clear blackish brown with a fluffy, lacy tan head. Aroma of chocolate and brown sugar with hints of vanilla and hops behind it. Medium-to-light body and moderate carbonation. Lightly sweet taste of coffee and chocolate with a roasty, almost ashy dry finish. I wish I could have tried this one on tap. Ah, well...

Kinsale Irish Lager
On tap at Claddah’s Irish Pub in Mason, OH. Presents a yellow gold with only a little head that soon disappeared. Mild aroma of malt and hops. Fairly pedestrian lager in the mold of American macro pilsners. Some malty sweetness and mild hop bitterness. The sweetness borders on candylike. A refrresher to be sure, but nothing exceptional.

500. Courtesy BitBucket--thanks! Pours clear medium amber with golden highlights. Thick, moussy, fluffy white head. Musty nose--moldy grain? Chemically tainted to some extent as well. Lightish body, soft carb, Odd spoilage tang on the mid-palate. Empty finish. Not much of a beer.

Had on tap at Claddah’s Irish Pub Columbus, pale golden color, and no head when it arrived...Basic malty smell, taste was very light malt, yeast, nothing spectacular, and it actually had a sour, skunky kind of finish...Not something I will try again...

Tap at a bar next to the brewery. Forget the name though. Pours a nice cloudy yellow with a lasting pure white head. Aroma is sweet and citrusy with light sicy clove phenolics. More citrus, sweet malts ad wheat in the flavor with a slihgt tart finish. Pretty smooht overall. Nice wit.

Pint at the brewery. Very similar to murphys I guess. Pours a darker color than guinness- this one is actually close to being black. Nice creamy head too. Aroma is toasted andn roasty malts with nice coffee hints. Flavor has a nice touch of caramel malts but also has a nice sharp roasty finish. Pretty good sweet stout especially compared to all the other crappy stouts of Ireland.

Kinsale Irish Lager
Had this fresh at the brewery. Pours a nice clear golden with a long lasting white head and good lace. Aroma is toasted and bready malts and nice fresh herbal hops. Bready full flavor, and a crisp spicy herbal hop finish made this a great pilsner/lager. Although I did have this later on at a restaurant nearby, and 1 pint was awesome, then the next one was not so good. I checked out the bar area- and appears as though they had at least 3 of these tap handles so maybe one keg was fresher than the other. Very delicate I guess.

This was pretty much one of the most basic beers I have ever tasted. Not great at all, almost like drinking a carbonated beverage, with no flavor, you no you are drinking beer but there is no evidence in the flavor, just a bottle that says so to prove it.

On tap, pours pale yellow. Not much aroma, not much flavour. What’s there is typical "lite" lager with very little bite, and a tad of skunk.

Looks like a macro. Not a good sign. Golden color with a thin head. Smells like a Heineken. Boy, if I didn’t know better, I don’t know if I could tell the difference between this and Heineken. Same somewhat skunky taste. But more flavor than an american macro, a plus. A little over carbonated, but I guess for the style, it is okay. Nothing special.

This is a native import and as such perhaps I had higher expectations. As it stands, the beer is so badly skunked it was a drainpour! Maybe I’ll try a bottle from another source (but seeing from the other ratings that this isn’t an isolated phenomenon, perhaps not).

dang, i also was hoping for this not to turn out to be another mediocre imported pale lager since the bottle had no mention of the style on it. oh well. carbonation burns a bit in this sweet and slightly skuky(in the nose much more than the taste) golden irish product.

This pours golden which very much surprised me for an Irish beer. My bottle did not say it was a lager so I was expecting an ale and this disappointed me much. I smelled bread when I got a whilff of the aroma. It is very carbonated and dry. White head. This one is not one I’ll remember. Maybe o.k. for an after mowing beer but budweiser is about the same and much cheaper.

Very thin white head. A few bubbles come up in my lager glass. A thin white head. Aroma of earthy vegetables. Carrots and some hay. The flavor is light and refreshing. Notes of hay and some sweet beets. A hint of green beans. A decent lager, finishes a little sweet.

I could smell the corn when I popped the bottle. It poured a rich yellow color, but its head disappeared as I poured. The aroma was of sweet corn syrup. Very little malt flavor, just the syrupy sweetness and a touch of hops. Sticky finish.

Pour is yellow with a white head. Aroma is very corny and you can guess what the flavor is like. Corny as well and very bland. There are other better beers in Ireland than this swill.

Bottle. Golden yellow with a big ol frothy head. Little bit of lacing as I drank it down. Light on flavor but y, ou probably guessed that, a good thirst quencher. But really, if you’re in the States and want something like this, you might as well pick up some Labatt’s or something for the price of this import, you could get a 12 pack,

Very disappointing. At least I only bought one bottle to try it. Kind of a flat beer that only gets worse when you pour it into the glass and see right through it. No head on top. There is still an ok beer flavor, but I guess I expected more.

Poured a straw-colored lager with a light, grassy aroma... my girlfriend gave me a six pack of this one because I’d mentioned that I like Irish beers... this certainly wasn’t what I’d been thinking about. Yeah, there’s nothing terrible about this beer, and I kind of like the sharp finish on each sip, but it really is "just another lager".

Kinsale Irish Lager
The beer disembogues the 330ml brown bottle a somewhat murky pale gold color with a modest frothy white head that evaporates quickly leaving a thin veil of lace to conceal the glass. Nose is sweet malt, fresh and clean, crisp to the senses with the start that is lightly sweet with the top light to medium in feel. Finish is brisk in its carbonation the hops light but pleasant, the aftertaste quite dry, a tolerable brew tis true.

Sparkling clear, yellow lager with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is barely there, but I detect very light notes of mash and clover honey. Nevermind the flavor as there really isn’t any. Not offensive, at least. Light-bodied with a fizzy mouthfeel. Short, crisp, clean finish.
