3.3 Stone Coast Sunday River Jamaican Stout Pours black with one finger, tan head. Aroma is roast, dried fruit and light molasses. Taste is raisin and thin brown sugar, moving to roast. 3.4 Sunday River Viper Erica's last day before going out of town for a new job. She wanted a New England style IPA. This one I've been saving since Maine trip says it's that style. It did not pour as cloudy as other NE IPA's I've had. It was somewhat juicy with grapefruit and other citrus hops and mild bitterness. Sunday, December 31, 2017

3.6 Sunday River Black Bear Porter Drunk straight from a quart can, now thats something you don’t get to say very often, while floating on a Maine pond so I may be projecting a little bias onto this beer but wow this is a good one, coffee but not overly so, tasty rich malty Friday, July 28, 2017

3.4 Stone Coast Sunday River Jamaican Stout From the crowler. This pours dark brown to near black with a modest tan head that lingers and laces. I get a dark fruit character and toasted dark malts and a little coffee on the nose. Some earth. The body is acidic and almost medium. The dark malts in the flavor are not so much sweet as they are bitter and I also get a little coffee character. Lingering bitterness. A biting sort of stout. Sunday, March 12, 2017

2.7 Sunday River Mountain Mama IPA 32 oz. can purchased at Spruce Creek Provisions. Cloudy dirty Amber color. Aroma shows me herbal and pine cone hints. No date coding on the can. The base is a lot of bready malt with some dirty yeast. The hops come off me astringent without any real flavor other then weak pine. The brew doesn’t have a nice mouthfeel, chalky. Based on this it would be difficult to go out of my to try anything else from this place. Sorry, pass. Saturday, January 23, 2016

3.4 Stone Coast Sunday River Jamaican Stout Very nice beige head that starts four-fingers and fades into a rocky, glass clinging froth. Deep dark brown which allows the faintest of light to pass. This has the smell of chocolate milk. Creamy consistency. Lots of dark cocoa flavor. Only negative is the slightest flavor of boiled vegetables. Nice aftertaste of a balanced stout; this is the first time I notice the hop. This is an easy stout to enjoy. While it may not beat the big papas from Ireland, it is easily quaffed. 3.4 Stone Coast 840 IIPA Pours a cloudy light brown. The bottle overflowed when opened. Unfortunately this did not translate into potent long lasting head. In fact, there was very little lace after the head died down to an incomplete single layer of bubbles. The smell is decent combination of mellow round malt and peppery hop. The taste is all hop...another extreme beer. The body is okay. Basically, if you like sucking on a hop pellet, you’ll like this beer. If not, it may be a case of the chef over salting the broth. 2.9 Stone Coast 420 IPA Fairly thin head with staying power, spotty lace. Light amber/dark golden in color, barely perceiptable haze in the liquid. Dark earthy hops is the predominant aroma, no real floral touch. Slightly yeasty, malt is present with a caramel sweetness. Overly hoppy even for an IPA--not that I’m complaining, my tastes lean this way. Very astringent aftertaste, really bitter, long lasting. Malt flavors are brief and fleeting. Full bodied with good carbonation. This would be a great beer to try last in a flight of IPA’s. Too bitter for regular consumption. Saturday, October 31, 2015

3.1 Stone Coast Sunsplash Golden Ale Reviewed from old notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a decent golden color with a film of thin white head. The smell had an ample amount of sweet corn lightly dosed with a slight caramel edge. The taste was pretty much the same adding a light biscuit-esque glaze over my taste buds. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed ok for the style and for me. There’s a nice carbonation about it. Overall, this was a decent golden/blonde ale I could do again. Saturday, September 27, 2014

3.1 Stone Coast High Rollers Wheat Reviewed from old notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was slightly hazy/cloudy a golden yellow color with a substantial two and a half fingered white foamy glossed over level sort of head - "nice" is just a decent word to use. Good, hell yeah, definitely good on this one. The smell had a super nice half hefe-esque, grainy to wheaty to a fairly nice sweet gritty, earthiness just running all around under my nose. The taste took those smells to the flavor and just combined fairly nicely. On the palate, this one sat at/about a light to medium on the body with a decent semi-sweet to wanted-to-be spicy glossy on the palate. Overall, I can’t necessarily endorse this beer, but will say it’s okay and leave it at that. Saturday, September 27, 2014

3.2 Stone Coast 420 IPA Reviewed from old notes. This was poured into a pint glass at the brewpub. The appearance was a fairly nice looking glossy/hazy and somewhat golden to amber-ed orange color. There was a light foamy stringy lacing sticking and then sliding into the beer. The smell had a super nice aromatic citric/slightly piney aromas. The taste was there. It took the citrus with the pine to make a fairly nice bittersweet combination to taste. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat there but honestly, nothing overbearing and nothing far out. Overall, I say this was a good IPA I could bang again. Saturday, September 27, 2014

2.7 Stone Coast 840 IIPA Reviewed from old notes. This was poured into a snifter from the bottle that I obtained. The appearance was a fairly nicely looking amber to glossy orange with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a filmy sort of minute. The smell had a fairly nice sort of fresh pine to citrus to earthy to grapefruit to encapsulated glossy citrus sort of smell. Okay, is this what it is meant to be? Okay, well by all means, I accept. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors and combined to taste. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a somewhat sessionable to sipper quality about it. The carbonation was somewhat there but there was nothing overbearing, good DIPA. Overall, decent DIPA, nothing to go bonkers about, but an acceptable means to an end of a night. 3.7 Stone Coast Sunday River Jamaican Stout Reviwed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a semi-light to dark brown color with a slim fingered white to off white foamy head that dissipated within a light lacing. The smell had a light chocolate to roast. Coffee? Uh...it really comes super underneath. The taste was mainly bitter with a nice roasty to sweet cocoa. On the palate, this one sat at/about a nice light roasty sort of body to a nice smooth to rolling sweet palate. Overall, I say this was a nice sweet/milk stout that I would have again. 2.5 Sunday River Blonde Reviewed from old notes. This was poured into a pint glass at the brewpub. The appearance was a semi-hazy golden yellow color with a slim bar pour’s kind of filmy white head. The lacing, uh...not exactly there, but yeah, okay, sure if one wants to think its there. The smell was somewhat mineral / maybe somewhat herbal with a weird earthy quality of sweet corn. Does that make sense? Hmmm...I’m not exactly sure if it makes sense to me. The taste was mainly mineral / earthy / herbally sweet. Sweet Corn - def yes, it pounds my taste buds into a sweet submission. On the palate, this one sat about/at a light to medium on the tongue. Sessionability was slightly there...not bad... Overall, for a blonde ale, okay, for me, uh...just plain different...I want to say weird, but I won’t...its just different and I’ll leave it at that. Saturday, September 27, 2014

3.4 Sunday River Mountain Mama IPA Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass at the brewpub. The appearance was an Amber / Red color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated within seconds. The smell had a sharp pine bittersweetness coating some light citrus sweet hops. The taste was mainly sweet but allowed a fairly decent blend to the bitter citrus side. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and somewhat sharp but was good for the style and for me. Overall, good AIPA that I would have again. Sunday, August 31, 2014

2.9 Sunday River Black Bear Porter Reviewed from old notes. At the brewery, this was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head. There wasn’t any lacing. The smell had a dark roasty coffee aroma with a robust quality to it. The taste was basically the same. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed somewhat subdued but mainly good for the style. I have to admit there does seem to be a fair amount wateriness about this. Overall, not a bad Porter, I’d have this again.
