Frauenstein Pils
(10.10.2019.)

Frauenstein Gold Export
"Frauenstein Gold Export", Flasche aus dem Brauereiverkauf in Winklarn. - Orangegold, schwach trüb. - In der Nase teigig süßliches Malz, matte Hopfenherbe, Anklänge an Holzleim. - Antrunk süßlich orangenfruchtig mit matter, alter Hopfenherbe. Durchschnittlich rezent, für ein Export ziemlich dünn. Im Abgang matte hopfenwürzig-kräuterige Herbe. - Einfach gestricktes, süßlich-dünnes Export mit banaler Hopfung. (8.10.2019.)

Frauenstein Hell

Frauenstein Pils
It’s hazy golden with a white head and the aroma has notes of malt, bread and light butterscotch and flower. The flavor has a light sweetness and the same notes as the aroma - just like in the Hell, I love the bread notes.

Frauenstein Hell
It’s slightly hazy golden with a creamy, white head. The aroma has notes of malt, bread, light butterscotch and flower. The flavor has a light sweetness and the same notes as the aroma, and the finish is dry. I love the bready feel about this one, it’s quite harmonic.

Frauenstein Gold Export
Bottle (purchased at the Brauerei): Unclear, light golden to golden, visible carbonation, small lacy white foamy layer; light to moderate but distinctive herbal-hoppy nose, otherwise dominated by malt and straw, even some bisquits are detectable; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, soft and quite light bodied; lingering aromatic-hoppy and bisquity-malty fine. Unspectacular, but a fine rural Export......

Bottle, thanks pivnizub. Green golden colour, busy carbonation, big lacing white head. Green citric and grassy aroma. Light grainy malt base, light and sparkly mouthfeel yet chewy, good hop profile to counter - grassy, aromatic, citric, finishes on a herbal and grassy note. Delicious.

Frauenstein Pils
(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a big and blond foamy head. Slightly strawy malty and herbal, slightly spicy hoppy aroma with a tinge of draff. Moderately bitter flavour with a light but rounded malty sweetness, light to medium bodied with a crispy carbonation. Soft pale malty taste with herbal hoppy accents; bitter-sweet, slightly draffy and herbal hoppy finish. As all of the Betz beers this one is not a world-class gem but is very suitable as a decent and solid session beer. 14.VIII.10

Frauenstein Hell
Malty, dusty aroma. Just a bit of a barnyard smell. Herbal bitter flavor with a hint of peppermint. Malty and medecinal. Somewhat dirty and dusty. Anotehr bottle tasted in 2010 tasted cleaner and a bit more grassy, but never gave the impression that this is an over average beer.

Frauenstein Pils
The brewery almost looks like a ruine, but beer is still brewed (for how long ?!). Creamy head. Hayaroma. Barnyard. Hopbitter, oily, hay-like flavor. Apple and orange. Rather a dirty aftertaste, but the pils has lots of flavor and is not without some quality.
