Miyamori Wasabi Ale
Sample @ GJBF Yokohama: Green, nose of light malt and dust, wasabi and light malt, not good. Thin, lightly spicy. Ugh.

Miyamori Wasabi Dry
Bottle: Clear greenish color, if the green wasn’t there, I’m not too sure it would even be yellow. Tall white head, very sticky. Nose of wasabi, nice fresh root, earthy, no hop or malt. The flavor is a bit tangy, like pith or mud, or some herbal thing, nearly no wasabi heat. The finish is nearly non-existent. Just a hint of wasabi all over the place but no malt or hop to speak of. I like the novelty, but a 6 pack or even a pint to enjoy wouldn’t even be feasible. Thanks Dan (I think)!

Miyamori Wasabi Ale
@ GJBF 2007. Has a boring ale aroma, malts, sorta sweet, and then the wasabi, of course. Nothing special here, just the addition of wasabi flavorings to a run of the mill ale. Points for curiosity, but besides that it’s pretty boring.

Miyamori Pilsner
Wow, a bottle conditioned Japanese Pilsner. These guys are quickly learning how to make some quality brews! A slightly hazy Golden color with a small white head. A very mild aroma, mostly dried grass, a bit of malty sweetness. A nice crisp hop front, a creamy malt middle with a finish like a sweeter Chardonnay. This company produces a few "funky Gimmicky" brews with Wasabi, yes....the same green killer stuff on your sushi. I don’t care for those beers but their Weizen isn’t half bad and this is a good Pilsner. Another treat from the "Land of the Rising Sun"

Miyamori Wasabi Dry
This is a clear pale green tinted beer with a small fine bubbled white head. A lighter green than the regular Wasabi Ale. Definately made with wasabi as one whiff will tell you. Not a funky artificial smell though. A dry crisp flavor that packs a spicy punch. The wasabi is certainly noticable, nothing muted or masked about it’s flavor. This is much better than the Wasabi Ale but not one I’d call a session beer ay all! Worth a try as a novelty!

Miyamori Weizen
Honey colored with a slight haze. Active bubbles, small white head. A sweet-tart spicy weizen. Not a great deal of citrus, noticeable but not as much as expected. Nice wheat flavors, quite tasty. Another surprising European tasting brew from Japan. Almost on par with Ginga Kogen. Much better than their strange Wasabi brews.

Miyamori Wasabi Ale
Looks like a slightly carbonated Lime koolaide, yes.....it’s GREEN! Doesn’t smell too promising, artificial and sweet scented. An odd vegital taste with a spicy kick. An interesting beer but just a bit gimmicky.
