Grainy, strawy and slightly malty spicy aroma, hints of wet hay, horse dung, white pepper. Taste is slightly grainy, strawy and spicy, pale malty, minimally floral-fruity hoppy, subtle, pale caramel-like sweetness, some hop bitterness. It's an opaque dark cola brown--virtually black--with no sparkle, light viscosity, finger-width beige head quickly fading to a ring and no lacing. Aroma is a strong earthy roasted malt with chocolate and hint of anise and coffee. Taste mirrors aroma. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and crisp finish as taste.
