IBUTapper30	3.7 Sennan Sansho IPA Copper color, piny aroma of hop and fresh Sansho aroma, clear taste, relatively light body and moderate bitterness for IPA.Decent after taste. They use sansho (Japanese herb) more for it’s aroma than spicy taste. In that respect, it successes in differentiation from “Kagua” which also uses sansho and won Hong Kong International Beer Award 2013,2014. Highly drinkable and creative. Saturday, July 20, 2019

TimE	3.5 Sennan NE IPA Tohoku Project 2019 very turbid muddy brown golden white color. Doesn’t look that appealing. Lots of over ripe mangoes, citrus and white gummy bears in the nose. Fairly sweet. Fairly dank and juicy. Low carbonation but medium bitterness. Fairly full bodied. As it warms it’s a bit astringent Wednesday, March 27, 2019

jinroh	3 Sennan Sasanishiki IPA Tap @ iBREW Shinbashi. Pours darker shade of amber, some white foam on top, pretty hazy - but not in NE way. Nose is malty, some fruity-sweet malt character, mango and relatively light hops. Taste has more hops, medium bitterness, is still sweetish-fruity-malty overall. Little bit heavy on the body, biscuity and finishing with slightly harsh bitterness. OK but not really something I would look out another time. Monday, January 22, 2018

shoulderbroken	3.7 Sennan Stout Tap at Craftsman Sendai. Not a huge aroma. Bit roasty, bit of chocolate. Tastes pretty good though. Toffee, chocolate, caramel, roasty, dry. Bit surprised. Possibly a bit thin, but the taste is good. Saturday, April 8, 2017
willisread	3.3 Sennan Fresh Hop Saison Keyaki fall 2016. Light granola notes with dried fruit and faint yeast character. More fruity esters with light pear coming out as it warms. Light and easy drinking, but not sure if it can be classified a saison, more of a golden ale, with some light spice on the finish. Decent. Wednesday, September 21, 2016

willisread	2.9 Sennan Kodaimai Tap at Watering Hole. Caramel forward nose with a bit of faint granola notes. Sweet on the palate with some light honey and grainy notes...more caramel. Finish is dry with a bit of yeast. Not horrible, but not that good either. Monday, April 25, 2016
willisread	3 Sennan Megawa Hop Pale Ale Under the name Onnagawa Hop Pale (Kanji can be read as Megawa so assuming this is the same). Goldish amber with a finger of head. Malty aromas with some very light dry orange zest on the palate. Malt driven for sure. Again very dry on the palate. Good carbonation but what a boring beer. Monday, April 18, 2016
visionthing	3.4 Sennan Sasanishiki IPA On tap at Craft Beer Tap, Tokyo. Clear golden to amber, with an off-white head. Fresh hoppy aroma with citrus, notes of fruits and pine. Medium sweet with pleasant hoppy flavours and a nice bitterness. Decent and refreshing. Monday, April 4, 2016

biirusaikou	3.6 Sennan Zao Sanrokumai Rice Lager Draught at Ibrew. Pretty good surprise, rich and round rice lager, still enjoyable as it warms even if they maybe pushed a bit much on the rice. Up there with the top Rice Lager brews, if that is considered a proper style. Monday, April 4, 2016

KyotoLefty	3.8 Sennan Yeti Weizenbock Tap at iBrew. Cloudy golden-orange with lace. Estery nose, cloves, oranges, bananas, vanilla. Nice tartness. Spicy, peppery flavor with apricots, peaches. KyotoLefty	3.7 Sennan Zao Sanrokumai Rice Lager Tap at iBrew. Hazy golden color, effervescent, fine low head. Crisp malt and snappy hop nose. Like a proper helles. Full body, great chewy malts, rounded malt flavor. solid noble hops coming through. Just a bit gummy, almost like glutenous rice, which bothered me a bit when it warmed. Otherwise, a damn good beer. willisread	4 Sennan Yeti Weizenbock In a tasting flight at Watering Hole. Big banana cream pie nose with some toasted marshmallow and light clove and caramel. More caramel and light chocolate on the palate. Starts off slightly sweet and coats the palate, but finishes quick with good hop bitterness. Really solid take on a weizen bock. Hits all the notes. KyotoLefty	3 Sennan Kodaimai Draught at the Yokohama GJBF 2012. Very pretty orangish-amber, shiny, glowing. Nose is faint, but a bit of rice, ancient rice I suppose, mizuame, caramel. iwantalambic	2.5 Sennan Shinkin Lager 330 mL bottle (05.10.18 on the label, sampled end of February 2006): very pale yellow with a large, fluffy, airy white head. Fleeting aroma with wisps of malted barley and hay. Extra fizzy, highly carbonated palate. Bitter, sour malt flavour that doesn’t quite work for me. Thanks anyway IslandHaole! iwantalambic	3.2 Sennan Weizen 330 mL bottle (05.9.27 on the label, sampled Late February 2006): pale, hazed lemon. A steady stream of large bubbles feeds the small, loose bubbled film on top. Light wheaty aroma with hints of clove, lemon grass and other spices. Fizzy palate with a sour-doughy effervescence. Soft and slightly sweet citrus rinds round out a pretty nice brew. AceOfHearts	3.4 Sennan Weizen Bottle, a bit past its expiration date. Light yellow, hazy. Rich, sweet wheaty aroma that is surprisingly good. A bit sour and sweet banana-clove flavor, slightly lactic. Not bad at all. Thick mouthfeel. Friday, February 3, 2006
IslandHaole	2.9 Sennan Shinkin Lager A slightly hazy Golden color with a large foamy White head. Light grassy/hay scent. Sweet with almost a Fume Blanc quality to it. IslandHaole	2.9 Sennan Kodaimai On tap @ brewpub: This beer is made with Black Rice, they wouldn’t tell me how much of the grain bill was rice though "the percentage is a secret" I was told. A clear Ruby colored beer with a rocky light Brown head. A sweet grainy/earthy scent with a tart, sourish taste. Interesting but not really my cup of tea, or beer in this case. IslandHaole	3.4 Sennan Stout On Tap @ brewpub: Dark Brown with Ruby edges. Big foamy tan head. Nice multi-layered malt scent. Roasty yes, but not overwhelmingly so or one-dimensional. Prunes, Coffee,Cocoa with a touch of licorice, very good! Mild floral hops with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Being a bit thin bodied is my only knock on this tasty Stout. Thursday, September 8, 2005
IslandHaole	3 Sennan Light Pilsner A light hazy yellow with a foamy white head. This had a thin layer of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. I’m not sure why they call this a "Light" Pils, I guess it’s the low (4.3%) ABV as compared to the normal 5%. This isn’t a tasteless brew that we have come to associate with the term "Light", it is a well balanced pils with a nice malt flavor and crisp bitter hoppiness. Quite nice! IslandHaole	3 Sennan Weizen A hazy golden straw color with a small white head. A wheaty/spicy scent, very light on the citrus. Almost a bubble-gum quality to it. A sweet wheaty flavor with very mild banana/clove flavors. As in the aroma, the citrus profile is mild. Has a crisp tart finish. A nice example of the style from Japan. Monday, November 22, 2004
