Flavor is predominantly mango, albeit slightly artificial, with very little "beer" flavor. Nice and refreshing, but not even the best fruit beer from Matso's. Friday, November 19, 2021

mkel07	3.6 Matso's Lower Sugar Ginger Beer I came across this beer at Star liquor express in Murgon of all places. I have had Matsos ginger beer before but not this lower sugar version I didn’t even know it existed. It may be 50% less sugar than the original version but it certainly has the same great earthy flavour with a little bit of zing comes with a good ginger beer. Monday, October 4, 2021

KeefOz	2.6 Matso's Hit The Toad Premium Lager Draught at Matso’s Broome. Poured a crystal clear golden Amber with 1cm of bright white open foam that retained very well and laced OK. Carbonation high, lively and coarse to very coarse. Aroma of pale malt; no obvious hops. Taste subtly of pale malt; very slight bitterness. Light body. KeefOz	3.3 Matso's Tom Yum Chilli Beer Taster at Matso’s Broome. Poured a crystal clear mid-amber with a thin collar that didn’t lace. Carbonation very high, slow and fine to medium. Aroma of lemongrass and hot spicy chilli with maybe a hint of lime. Taste of moderately strong lemongrass, strong spicy chilli and lime. Light body. Smooth with a long spicy finish. Aroma with lots of fresh spicy chilli; very over-powering. Taste initially of sweet mango but quickly over-powered by very spicy fresh chilli. Light body. Smooth with a very long spicy finish. Thin white head. 3 Aroma: Syrupy mango, yeast. 7 Taste: Sweet mango initial taste, but quickly fades to light watery Belgian spice. Carbonation moderate, lively and medium to coarse. Aroma with lots of fresh ginger followed by hot spicy chilli. Taste initially of fresh ginger quickly followed by hot spicy chill that dominates anything else. Light body Smooth with a thin mouthfeel and a lingering finish. 20/11/2018 From a stubbie poured a clouded light yellow brown (looks like old fashioned ginger beer) with no head. Carbonation high, lively and medium to coarse. Aroma initially of fresh ginger then big amounts of hot chilli. Taste of earthy ginger followed quickly by hot chilli, then the more you drink the more the chilli takes over and numbs the lips and tongue; take a break and the earthy ginger comes back the next sip, but then so does the chilli. Light body. If you like a spicy mix of ginger and chilli, try this ... best sipped slowly. Tuesday, November 20, 2018
mkel07	3.1 Matso's Angry Ranga Bottle from Cellarbrations Hawthorn on 19 August 2018. I expected some heat but was not prepared for the mouth numbing hotness from the chilli. Aroma is strongly of sweet artificial mango. Taste is of very sweet mango and very cordial/fruit syrup-like; very fruity; low bitterness as not a lot of hops; a bit tangy. Light body. aussiealchemist	1 Matso's Angry Ranga Taster at Matso's brewery Broome. Pours cloudy lemon with no head. Aroma is chilli and ginger. Flavour is a massive hit of chilli heat with solid ginger in the background. Taste is sweet and a little sour. Palate is a bit difficult to assess due to the chilli heat. Overall an interesting drink. Massively hot which makes it hard to drink much. One 100 ml taster is plenty. Of note is that the keg beer is 4% abv and the bottle 3.5%. Thursday, May 3, 2018
aussiealchemist	1.7 Matso's Pearlers Pale Ale Taster at Matso's brewery, Broome. Pours clear light gold with small white head that dissipates. Medium carbonation. Aroma has some very strange off citrus notes, a bit like a rotten lemon. Flavour again dominated by the off aroma. Not pleasant. Palate is light with light bitterness. Overall not good but might be a bad batch as that taste can't be intentional. I don't think it is DMS but can't quite put a name to the flavour. Thursday, May 3, 2018
aussiealchemist	2.9 Matso's Bishop's Best Dark Lager Taster at Matso's Brewery, Broome. Pours clear dark brown/amber with a small cream head. Aroma is smoky and toffee malt. Flavour is an odd mix of smoke, toffee and coffee. Taste is more sweet than bitter but balanced. Palate is reasonably light with some carbonation. Overall not bad. Sort of a more approachable rauchbier style. Pilsner malt notes are acceptable and the is no objectionable funky larger esters. Thursday, May 3, 2018

Aroma slightly citrus with some pils malt. Flavour is dominated by citrus hops, not particularly floral. Pilsner malt (biscuit etc.) character is also noticeable. Taste is more bitter than sweet but a good balance exists. Palate is light and refreshing. Some lingering bitterness but not strong. Overall a good larger. TedE	3.1 Matso's Hit The Toad Premium Lager Apparently 'unretired' because here it is! 4.7% 330ml bottle into schooner glass. Deep golden colour with frothy white head and high carbonation. Nose is sweet malt. Medium body, slight malt taste . Some bitterness in the finish then a little more sweet malt and a distant hint of herbs/grass. Super easy-drinking lager. Friday, January 5, 2018
