Midtfyns Double IPA
Lækker sød IPA med masser af humle i form af både blomsterduft og bitter eftersmag. Tyk og cremet i munden og generelt et gennemført bryg. For en gangs skyld en øl fra MB som jeg IKKE blev skuffet over.

Midtfyns Barley Wine Barrel Aged (Grande Champagne Cognac)
Pours a clear, medium amber to copper body with a small, beige, short-lived head that ends up as a partially covering film. Ok lacing. Strong aroma of alcohol, cognac, caramel and dark dried fruits, with anise and light hoppy notes in the back. Strong flavour of alcohol, cognac, caramel and dark dried fruits. Moderate sweet taste with a sharp, long and heavy bitter finish. Close to full body, vinous mouthfeel with mouth drying amounts of alcohol. Too sharp, too alcoholic, too little hops in the aroma and flavour. But a nice sipper, though.
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 2 years before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge, Oslo]

Midtfyns Chili Klaus Chili Liquorice Stout
Bottle @ home. Pours black with a huge beige head. Roasted aroma. Taste is of malts, chocolate, caramel, hops with a small amount of licorice and chili. Sweet and creamy with a full-ish body and soft carbonation. The licorice is present all along but relatively discrete. And so is the chili which mostly pops up in the long finish. I’m honestly not so sure I’d even notice the chili if I didn’t already knew it was there but that could just be because it isn’t fresh. It’s pretty okay though - even if it’s got a bit too much licorice in it for me.

Midtfyns Jule Stout
Bought at Systembolaget, Sweden in November 2013. This bottle has been resting in my beercellar for 2 year an 6 months.
Best before: September 17, 2014.

The stout pours clear, dark brown with a two finger high beige, head. Lacing stays on the glass.

Nose: Roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee ground.
Taste: Chocolate, cacao beans, oak, roasted malt, coffee, molasses, anise and fennel.
Mouth: Complex structure. Medium to light carbonation. Smooth taste.

This beer has definitely grown better with aging. Not as aggressive as when it was new. Very mature and smooth. The star anise and fennel seeds is there in the background just lifting the taste a bit.

Midtfyns Belgian Blonde
Bottle (50 cl) - I like the first taste when the beer arrives hits the toungue, but after a while it gets too "malty" for me. Nice color and a long-lasting white head. The deScription says that it fits a Danish spring/summer, when the temperature exceeds 20c, and I must say that this deScription is perfect.

Bottle. 6.8%. Best before 15.02.17. Pours an unclear amber/light brown, with a light tan head. Sweetish, spicy aroma; ginger, hint of pine. Flavour is malty with ginger. A bit tart. (Overripe) fruit note as it warms. Bitter finish with a hint of alcohol. Lingering light grassy note. Overall okay; the ginger is well-balanced, so not as cloying as it could have been. 07.05.16.

Midtfyns Ale
Copenhagen 7/5 2016. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. Label looks like a seasick cross from the crusades. On the back of the bottle they declare this to be a full-bodied and well balanced ESB. Pours clear amber with white head. Settles as paper thin layer of foam. Aroma is medium sweet of caramel and something fresh and flowery. A weird note of detergent in the background. Medium carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet balanced by medium bitterness in the aftertaste. Aftertaste is quite sweet. So the "well balanced" offered in the flavor text seems to hit the mark. A bit too watery to be "full bodied".

Midtfyns Chili Tripel
Bottle, 50cl. Pours hazy orange-amber with thin off-white head that quickly vanish. Banana, peach, malt, pebber spices in the nose with some easterly sensation. Not much to detect. Flavour of malt, spices, some fruits and hops. Light-medium chili finish with heavy malt sweetness and some warming, rich alcohol as well. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Not that tasty, rather the spiciness of chili both contributes to the overall enjoyable of the beer, while also hides the fact that not much else is going on. Well, guess its not for everyone.

Copenhagen 5/5 2016. 50 cl bottle from Netto. Another feature in Midtfyns Bryghus neverending series of Chili-beers named after YouTube phenomen Chili Klaus who apparantly earns his money making videos of celebritys eating different kinds of chili. Pours opaque dark brown with light beige head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. Aroma is sweet and bitter. Dark chocolate, licorice, coffee and brown sugar. Medium carbonation and medium thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet and followed by pronounced bitterness. Some burning sensation from the chili. But more subdued than many of Midtfyns other chili products. Actually a nice stout with some burning chili thrown in for good measure.

Midtfyns Russian Imperial Stout
0.5 bottle. A completely black color and a small, tanned head. A very strong aroma of dark malts, loads of cocoa, some lactose, vanilla, and hints of licorice - coffee is just an afterthought here. Taste on the other hand starts and ends with coffee, licorice and chocolate do appear albeit in a reduced form - more bitter than sweet despite all the maltiness. A full body, a creamy texture, and an average carbonation. Finish is long, licorice shines through with full force. Overall the beer starts off nicely but slowly leans towards bitter and not-so-palatable flavors.

Smagen er gennemsyret af espresso med tydelig kakao og vanille. Tydelig alkohol og kraftig bitterhed. Desværre også meget metallisk, som dog forsvinder efter et par tåre... Lidt tynd fylde for typen. Ok god øl, men jeg havde forventet mere...
