Bäsibräu Reviews

Koelschtrinker
Bäsibräu Kloster-Bier 2.7
Apfelsaft-Geruch. Weich herber Getreidebeginn.

Stimmig! 10/9/9/11/9/9

Bäsibräu Weizenbier 4.1
Heller, stark hefiger Antrunk. Wirklich empfehlenswert! 12/12/13/12/9/13

Bäsibräu Weizenbier 2.9
Bottle 50 cl from 3 Sinne in Steffisburg (CH). Cloudy blonde, rather quiet. Flavors of yeast, banana and clove. THe mouth is fruity and soft, fresh, found in banana, clove and chewing gum, classic. It finishes on a refreshing note of apple-lemon, drier.

Bäsibräu Malzbier 3.3
Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who got it in a trade with Allen (thanks!)
Poured a lovely dark apricot-orange body with a nice white head. Light fruity agrumey hoppy nose, soft and a remarkably pleasant surprise. The taste, however, fails to follow on the aroma’s promise. It does try, remaining pefumey and somewhat hoppy, but it adds some beety notes, and while pleasant, it isn’t as thrilling as it should’ve been. It tastes like the pils should’ve tasted I guess (at least that’s what I wrote not knowing it was an ale).

Bäsibräu Dunkel 3.2
Bottle (72/09 bb 30.9.2010) courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who got it in a trade with Allen (thanks!)
Poured a murky, slightly lighter than usual brown body with a big off white-rocky head that went away relatively fast. Weak nose, just some very weak sweet and roasty maltiness. The taste, however is very nice, light roastiness with some sweetish, slightly toffee-like taste. The mothfeel is more bubbly than soft (if this makes any sense) but it’s still a really nice dunkel.

Poured a nice murky apricot-yellow body with a small white head. Light nose, slightly herbal. The taste is kinda pleasant at first but soon deteoriates. Some peachy maltiness trying to show trough some beet-like, slightly woody bitterness with some vague yeasty notes. Far from thrilling.

Thanks to Allen for this one. Bottle looks simple, but good, beer in the glass fine turbid, small creamy head. Starts malty, moldy, fine spicy with notes of caramell and some cinnamon. Finish mild, still fine malty and spicy. Very drinkable. Really good!

Low carbonation, very mild, one of the weaker brews of this brewery, which is my opinion only, of course. Still ok.

Bäsibräu Bäsibürer Naturtrüeb Lager 3.6
Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of Bov. It pours a hazy amber beer with a nicely lasting, beautifully lacing white head. Impressive strong aroma of blood orange, homemade caramel, papaya, smoke, great hops, burnt caramel and marshmallows. Sweet, extremely fruity, yeasty taste with a lot happening. Strong carbonation. Surprisingly full bodied. Slight bitterness. Blood orange, papaya, raspberry and caramel appearing. Indeed, the lacework is beautiful. A lot of residual sugars in the finish which is yeasty, faintly smoky and reminiscent of raspberry. Very full bodied (over the top) and tasty for a 4.3 ABV beer. Plenty of character- a great beer. Thanks a lot Bov!

Hazy golden color; nice head. The hoppy aroma is fruity and quite nice. There is some good malt in the taste, good hoppiness, quite aromatic; well balanced, with notes of sweet caramel and very light hop fruitness. It has just some yeast touch that introduces a light metallic note in the end. A nice try. Thanks Philippe (Bov) for this bottle.
