Not much sweetness, fair bitterness, maybe lightly tart. Light bodied, creamy and soft texture with low carb, finishing spicy and toward dry. Nice session Belgian. Love this style, glad it was on at Hopcat Broad Ripple when I was there. Sunday, April 2, 2017

2.8 Brugge Brasserie Tripel de Ripple (Brandy Barrel) On draft at HopCat a Indianapolis. Thanks work! The pour is a darker golden brown color with a thick white head and a little bit of lace. The aroma is really interesting. There is a lot of brandy to it and almost a wet wine barrel. The wood is strong. There is a hint of clove and a light banana but the malts are actually detectable through all of the cloudiness. The flavor is not as good. There is a lot of brandy and alcohol with a strong banana and cherry to it with a heavy woodiness on the back end. The mouth feel is a little heavy with a brighter carbonation and a lingering woody and banana and cherry finish. The brandy is really strong on this one. Holy hell. Tuesday, February 7, 2017

2.7 Brugge Brasserie Tripel de Ripple On draft at HopCat a Indianapolis. Thanks work! Oh boy. The pour is a darker foggy golden orange with a thick ring of white head and some good lacing as it falls. The aroma is everything I dislike about tripels. There is a heavy banana and clove with a spiciness and a light pear-like fruitiness. It’s all banana and clove though. The flavor is much of the same. The fruitiness fades in lieu of a sweet clove and a strong banana. Not my thing at all. This is rough. The mouth feel is thick and softly carbonated with a lingeringly banana dominated aftertaste. No thanks. Tuesday, February 7, 2017
