There is a silky chocolate note right from the start, milky but then with an odd, slightly tart fruity note, which is just a touch off putting. Reasonable palate, it’s fine. 3 Brandon Slippery Jack Cask @ New Oxford, Salford. Nearly black with a thin off-white head. Includes very dark malts, but you wouldn’t class this as a regular stout as it’s only mildly sweet in its character. There’s hardly any roasted malts. Decent enough though. Thursday, January 28, 2016

3.9 Brandon Grumpy Bastard This one was bought as a Father’s Day gift. I pored it into an English pint and has a medium dark color with a one finger tan head. The aroma is a nice sweet candy sugar with nodes of hops and citrus. It’s flavour is a little citrus with a slight bitter finish. It flows across the palate smooth with a slight tingle of carbonation. Overall a very good beer from this relatively new brewery I will be buying more. Friday, July 12, 2013

2.8 Brandon Old Rodney Cask - The Kings Head, Norwich. A clear, darkish amber coloured beer with a small, loose & fading white head on the pour. Nutty, caramel, boiled sweets/malts & mid fruits on the aroma. More caramel, boiled sweets & grain to taste with an ever-so-delicate touch of roasty, toasty malts on the back end. Light to medium body, soft mouthfeel & a soft, low intensity finish. A rather inconspicuous brown bitter when all is said & done. Wednesday, August 1, 2012

2.9 Brandon Napper Tandy Cask - Kings Head, Norwich. Bubbly though relatively thick and creamy, lasting off-white head, leaving a uniform lace atop a clear amber-mid brown body. Tangy red fruits, some nuttiness and yeast aromas. Almond on the tongue, yeast with a lightly sharp tangy and a light fruit skin and dryish English hop bitterness. Softish palate, light to medium body with a lingering tangy, fruit skin finish. Maybe not in the best condition, which is surprsing for the KH. Sunday, March 13, 2011
