0.5l bottle. In the glass this is a cloudy looking deep peach orange colored one with a small quickly gone and islandy off-white head. The nose has a fair amount if yeast and chocolate wrapper. Old grass, fermented ripe fruits and traces if grains. Not horrible. It doesn’t taste all that nice really. Really cardboard dry and old yeasty. I’ll even go as far as call it not pleasant. How do they get this amount if yeast flavors in a beer? Slightly apricot sour aftertaste. Nope, sorry. I could have but I won’t finish this - especially since I suspect that it won’t get less yeasty further down the bottle... 15.06.2014

0.5l bottle. Oh, it’s quite a dunkel one this. Deep deep amber, almost ruby like. Cloudy and it has a small island and sidesticking beige head also. On the nose it has a burned sugar / burned caramel touch. A little roasted, a little chocolate dry with hints of only coffee and yeast. Some silo grass also here. Doesn’t smell horrible, just a bit undefined. Is this like a mild perhaps? Tastes like a mild also. Some mild hotplate wrapper tones, a faint acidity from cold coffee in the back. It’s not super dry, but more dry than sweet. Feels light oily in the mouth and it’s below average on the bubbles. Yeah, ends with dry cocoa and some faint honey hints. This is definitely one of the better I’ve had from the guys from Steinkjer. 21.06.2014

Bottle. An almost clear one, golden in color and with a small, off-white head on top. Fruityness in the aroma, with chalky yeast. Some bitterness in the flavor, too much yeast, and with a decent fruityness playing a supporting role. Medium to full body, decent carbonation. Fruity, yeasty finish. A rather boring and uninteresting beer with too much yeast. 160102

Very hazy deep copper body with a small, beige head that leaves some lacing. Surprisingly complex, sweet, malty and strong aroma of dark caramel, sweet caramel, sweet dark dried fruits and honey, and vanilla, wood and chocolate in the back. Strong flavour that follows the aroma. Moderate sweet taste with some bitterness in the long finish. Light to medium body, creamy and smooth texture, soft carbonation. A wonderful brew!

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Black colour, dark brown in the highlights. Moderate beige head. Roasty dryish aroma, notes of coffee, hints of liquorice, cocoa and wood. Very dry and roasty flavour, quite bitter, probably more from the roasted barley than the Northern Brewer hops. Notes of coffee and wood, hints of English liquorice and smoke. Really too dry for my taste, but must be a find for those of you who hate sweet beers.

1Bottle. A dark brown beer topped, unclear and with a dense, finger-thick beige head. The aroma is rather weak, with roasted malts and some coffee hints. Dried fruits too, but just a whiff. It’s medium bodied, with a nice carbonation level. Semi-dry. Roasted malts, coffee and a touch of charcoal in the flavor, some bitterness in the far back. Lasting finish. Quite decent this one. Small offwhite head quickly shrinks leaving only a fringe. Hazy amber body. Sugary spicy raspberry aroma with herbal camphor notes. Say, what? Sweetish raspberry soft drink taste with camphor notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, flat mouthfeel. Dryish gingery raspberry aftertaste with herbal notes. This was deeply odd and must be flawed in some way, but I’m not sure exactly how. Stuck fermentation? Drainpour. (0.5l bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Strømmen.)
