Fra fad på Peders, 28.11.18: let uklar korngylden med godt skum der varer. Lys malt, banan, tyggis og hint af krydder. Fin mundfølelse og mild bitterhed i afslutningen. Måske en smule for sød.

Very sparingly foam. Aroma of mandarin, apricot and orange. The taste is heavily dominated by sweetness, which a triple may also be, but in this case it goes to far, where I suspect the brewery for the use of some kind of additives. Aroma is alright, but it has a synthetic and perfumed taste of the aforementioned fruits and unfortunately, these taste notes are fully followed by the aftertaste. I'm very disappointed and have to leave for the kitchen sink. Boring it is, but in my opinion it is totally lost.

Bottle. 7.0%. Best before 26.12.20. Pours an unclear, dark red/brown, with an almost disappearing, tan head. Malty, dark fruit aroma, a bit tart/sour. Note of (stale) bread and a hint of chocolate. Flavour is dark fruits; plums, malt, a bit tart/sour and a wee bit dusty. Sugary hint as it warms. Same finish, with a hint of an alcohol burn, and a lingering light, wine-like dryness combined with a mild, orange peel-like bitterness. Overall okay, if nothing special. The tart/sour notes makes it somewhat more like a Flemish Sour than a Weizen Bock though. Not that that’s bad. 26.07.17.

Stevns Søholm Mølle
Bottle. 6.6%. Best before 30.11.18. Pours a hazy/unclear, dark orange/amber, with a diminishing, light tan head. Bit of lacing. Hop aroma, note of oranges and a bit spicy, with a light yeast note and a fledgling metallic overtone. Floral, fruity and light malt notes as it warms, overtaking the intial notes. Flavour is sweetish, with hops; a wee bit spicy, and a light yeast note. Floral, fruity as it warms. Light malt in the background. Mildly bitter, liquorice-y finish. A bit dry. More floral and light yeast notes. Hint of malt. Lingering light grassy and green apple notes. Overall okay, but a bit generic. Lacks some character. 19.05.17.

Impressive beautiful and very durable creamy foam. The aroma I will skip because a cold hit me yesterday and aggressively blocked my nose within 12 hours. However, I feel already improvements and had decided to spend this evening for reviews of beers, so even if conditions are not optimal for a thorough review I will do my best. The taste is surprisingly malty at the beginning, in fact so sweet that I doubt whether the type as an IPA. Palate is great and tasty, but soon after obtained a taste of straw and fresh grass with clear citrus notes in the flavor. It leads in to a taste of cooked vegetables and a fine hoppy bitterness that is not too sharp. Perhaps a bit too discreet in hops composition to be an IPA, but still an IPA which I think most of you could take without being scared away.

Pours black with a small offwhite head; aroma is fruity, some banana, malty, slightly spicy, slightly lactic; taste is dark fruits, slightly lactic, somehow oud-bruin like, low to medium sweet, turns into spicy somehow alcoholic finish with a lingering sweetness; mouthfeel is slightly sticky with low carbonation and low to medium body; not a bad beer but not really sure where it should go, a little more carbonation and a little less sweetness would help a lot

Stevns Klintekongens Stout
Copenhagen 1/6 2016. 50 cl bottle from Føtex. No nonse label announcing that this is Klintekongens stout that is made so the poor king will not get a cold when he races around in his cart. Pours opaque dark brown with light beige head. Disappear right after pouring. Aroma of fermented sweet fruit, licorice and a sharp sour edge. Medium carbonation and slightly thick palate. Taste is very sweet with a bit of licorice bitterness. Aftertaste is lightly bitter. I have tasted better stouts - a bit too fruity and a bit too sweet. And I seriously doubt that this beer can help you get your body temperature up after a wild ride on the dunes.

Copenhagen 22/5 2016. 50 cl bottle from Føtex. Very simple yellow label informing you of good ingredients, careful preparations and a healthy amount of alcohol. You can’t complain about that. Pours hazy golden yellow - almost orange with small white head. Disappears fairly fast leaving only small remnants of foam. Aroma is a combination of sweet malts with a hint of caramel and more sour fruits like citrus and grape fruit. Notes of Belgian yeast. Low carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor has the caramellike sweetness that you often encounter in Belgian beers - and is quite sweet with only very light bitterness for balance. Metallic taste from the overwhelming amount of alcohol. Aftertaste is sweet and slightly burning with the alcohol. Catch the style all right - but is too sweet for my taste buds.

Copenhagen 16/5 2016. 50 cl bottle from Føtex. Drawing of a small idyllic water mill on the label. A creamy "worm" of foam crawls out of the bottle shortly after opening. Pours hazy - almost murky - orangeish amber with very big head. Settles beautifully as several centimeters thick creamy crown of foam. Aroma is sweet with brown sugar, boiled vegetables and weak citric notes for an IPA. Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet malts followed by distinct sourness and bitterness. Rather long sour aftertaste. A bit unbalanced to the bitter side. But then again there is a good long way from Stevns to India - so you would need a fair amount of hops to make it.

Copenhagen 9/5 2016. 50 cl bottle from Føtex. Very purple label taking you back to the end of the sixties/beginning of the seventies. Pours hazy dark brown with a very small light beige head. Disappears immediately leaving something that looks like a coke that has lost it’s fizz. Not many points for "appearance". Aroma is sharp and fruity at the same time. Fermented sweet fruit and Belgian yeast meets a sharp slightly chemical odour. Soft carbonation and medium thick palate. Flavor has a little caramel sweetness which is soon drowned out by a distinct sourness. Aftertaste is sour with only faint sweet notes. Surprisingly sharp and sour. In this case not a nice surprise.
