Lunenburg County Oak Hollow Honey
Bottle. Rich golden colour. Aroma has a simple but intriguing combination of honey, herbs and oak. Flavour follows the aroma - a decent dry mead, with pleasant honey and herbal/floral notes, overlaid with a warm oak character. As someone who isnít a fan of oaked white wines, this isnít really my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the effort for what it is even if I donít personally dig it.

Lunenburg County Montbeliard Pear
750 ml bottle sampled 4/12/09. Clear pale straw colour with a bit of residual carbonation. Lightly sweet pear aroma with a bit of fuselly alcohol or mineral note. Moderately sweet pear flavour balanced with a light alcohol bitterness. Medium to full bodied, lightly warming mouthfeel. Quite nice chilled, as it warmed the higher alcohols tended to overpower the simple but pleasant sweetness.

Lunenburg County Montbeliard Pear
Pale straw coloured cider. Still. The nose is lightly floral and a little bit fruity. There is a touch of light spiciness and a bit of pear skin tannic structure. Light citrus. The beer is fairly sweet with a bit of light citrusy character. The cider is very, very sweet though and that sugary character clobbers the lighter aromatics in the nose. Simple and lacking complexity. I suspect that 50% of the fermentables in here are straight sugar. It smells okay, but the flavour is completely underwhelming.

Lunenburg County Honey Moon
Extra light pale. Very fruity, floral nose. Fresh, fruity taste. Very lively with a nice acidity. Cool, refreshing mead. Excellent in terms of both complexity and drinkability.

Courtesy Oakes. Pours a very pale gold color, with a syrupy texture. Very earthy aroma, some traces of honey, and citrus fruit, with touches of pepper in there as well. The flavor wasnt as rich as I like my meads, a little thin in the palate. Very earthy and floral in the flavor, with the honey showing up more in the background than anything. Pretty average mead, very mellow, and not as sweet as I usually like them, but still the earthiness and floralness made it an interesting mead to drink.

750 ml bottle. Pale straw colour, fairly light bodied... with thin legs. Aroma is loaded with wildflowers, honeyish aroma, lightly herbal and spicy. Flavour is fairly sweet but light-bodied. A bit of lemony tartness as well, with some fresh wildflower honey. Some soft spice on the back. Pretty decent easy drinking mead.

Bottle shared by OKBeer. Golden yellow body, no head. Dry alcoholic almost white wine like aroma. Dry fruity character, alcohol makes itself known. Average palate. Quite pleasant and quaffable for such a strong drink. Much more dry than any previous mead samples I have had.

750 ml bottle. Still pale straw colour. Very winy, fruity aroma, like a medium white wine. Iím not really sure about this one. Pretty clean fruity and sweet flavour. Medium to full bodied. Found it much more pleasant than the Rossignol Blackberry.
