Twin Rivers Red
Highly carbonated apricot amber with a frothy, thick, off-white head. Nice toasty amber nose with a touch of nuttiness. The body is nutty and toasty--like a cross between an Irish Red Ale and an English Nut Brown. Solid.

Twin Rivers IPA
This one was "Dry Hop IPA" on the beer board, but I’m assuming it’s the same thing as it was the only IPA listed at Adam’s Bistro. Brassy body, decent head. Funky, skunk hop aroma that is very green. Very bitter, acerbic body and some chemically taste.

Twin Rivers Belgian Saison
Luminous, highly carbonated bronzed body with a dense, frothy head. Highly herbal lemon verbena nose, perhaps with some oregano and other herbs. The body is similar, a thorough lemon verbena presence rounded out by oregano and Italian-leaning herbs. Sparkly body. I quite enjoyed this.

Twin Rivers Belgian Saison
On tap at The Local in Bellingham, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma has notes of lemongrass upfront along with Belgian yeast. Flavour is big on the lemongrass, followed by Belgian yeast. Not very well done but it’s inoffensive. Meh.

Twin Rivers Oktoberfest
Draft pour at the brewery taproom as part of their pre-release event. Pours a copper color with almost no head. Flowery hop aroma, and slightly sweet malty flavor throughout. Overall, a really good beer. Super easy drinking beer full of flavor. Long caramel like finish. Good beer here.

Twin Rivers IPA
Draft pour at the brewery taproom. Pours a brownish orange with an amazing, hop headlined aroma. No head really. Super hop front flavor with some orange spice to it. Just how I like my IPA’s, full of hops. Really enjoyed this one. Solid beer.

Draft pour at the brewery. Pours a burnt orange with little head. Piney flavor with a bitter hop finish. I am impressed with this. Tasty, drinkable beer.

Twin Rivers Cream Stout
Nitro draft pour at the brewery. Black pour with a thick tan head. A lot of cream up front with a coffee finish. Not too bad.

This is a drinkable IPA. Nothing outstanding. All the expected aromas and flavors in a highly quaffable brew.

Great stout on nitro! Think dense creamy head that lingered until I nimbly sucked it off. Amazing creamy texture of both the head and the beer. Truly delicious ale.

Twin Rivers Nut Brown
This is a pretty good brown ale. Nothing particularly stands out, but there's a nice malt backbone and mild hops. Just a very smooth drinking and enjoyable ale.

Twin Rivers Imperial Stout
Draft at the brewery/restaurant. Pours a glossy obsidian black with a dense and creamy tan head that sticks around forever and ever. Mild roasty, ashy nose, a little coffee and some dark herbal, piney hop. Pleasant combo. Creamy medium body, almost thick, lively carb but buried under the heavy malt. Good stuff. Roasty, ashy mid-palate, showing a bit of coffee, then finishing with herbal, resinous hop. Not the most forwardly flavored impy out there, even given the very low abv (could be just a foreign at that alcohol level, but the body, head, color, and brewer’s choice set the style here). Pleasant and filling.

Twin Rivers IPA
Draft at the brewery/restaurant. Pours a crystal clear moderately dark amber with no head, lace, or legs. Nice tangy grapefruit and pine nose. Toast, caramel, grapefruit, and pine on the mid-palate, but unfortunately they’re hampered by a flatness. The body has nice creaminess and presence, and it’s not completely still, but this beer needs a lot more bubbles and head. Mild resinous finish. Get it carbonated and this beer jumps up at least 7 or 8 points.

Twin Rivers Düsseldorf Alt Bier
Draft at the brewery/restaurant. Pours a hazy dark amber with a dense and creamy tan head that sticks around forever and ever, leaving dense sheets of lace on the way down. Big toasty nose, lots of caramel there, some brown bread. Creamy medium body with rich malt forward from the attack, nice toast, brown bread, and caramel showing. Herbal hops near the end but malts dominate. Flavorful, quenching, nice presence, very fresh.

Twin Rivers Oktoberfest
Draft at the brewery/restaurant. Pours a crystal clear medium amber with a dense and creamy light tan head. Big buttery nose, just pure popcorn on your way to the double feature. More’s the pity. A little caramel and toast under that. Creamy medium body with nice carb. Toast and caramel mid-palate, a little bit of crackeriness at the edges, then a bunch of butter in the finish. Could be something if they let the yeast do their thing and clean out that buttah.

Twin Rivers Cream Stout
Draft at the restaurant. Nitro. Pours opaque black with scantest of white heads. Very little nose and what’s there is primarily coffee. Body’s pretty shot from the nitro. A little bit of coffee and roast on the mid-palate and kind of a dribble of harshy resin on the finish. Too bad about the nitro but something tells me this probably wasn’t too awfully much in the first place.

Twin Rivers Nut Brown
Draft at the restaurant. Pours deep dark murky brown with a slim rim of white. Thickish brown-sugary nose with a little bit of dust. Tingly and medium-bodied attack. Nicely sweetened mid-palate: molasses, with some of that brown sugar again and some caramel. Thin little tingly herbal hop finish. Pretty damn drinkable for a brown.

Twin Rivers Imperial IPA
Draft at the restaurant. Pours a crystal clear coppery amber with a slim white rim that leaves no lace and doesn’t stick around. Fairly subdued attack; even the body and carb are on the medium side. Very malty sweet mid-palate--not sure where it’s all coming from, because it doesn’t seem (while it’s still kinda chilly) to have much company. Nice hollow piney notes at the end--but not too strong. It’s all just so understated. Comes to life a little bit as you work through it. Curious note of wintergreen on the mid as it warms.

Twin Rivers Amber Ale
Draft at the restaurant. Crystal clear garnet amber pour under a clumpy thin white filmy mousse. Pretty vacant nose. Watery, light carb. Very subdued flavors on the mid-palate: a little bit of chewy malt sugar and kind of a sticky but neutral finish. Looks great but needs a nose and some flavor.

Twin Rivers Pale Ale
Draft at the restaurant. Pours slightly hazy golden amber with a slim rim of white mousse and a little dab of lace up the side. Rich sweet floral and grass nose. Good medium body and carb on a nicely assertive attack. Rich hay and caramel mid-palate with a lightly lingering and completely refreshing grapefruit finish. They should call this Pentitentiary Pale (there’s a supermax in town) and market it. It could really appeal to the mainstream.

Twin Rivers Kolsch
Draft at the restaurant. Pours a crystal clear medium gold. Thin but determined white rim of mousse with decent legs. Grass and hay and cookie dough on the nose. Caramel and a bit of malt sugar on the mid-palate, along with repeats of the nose notes. Medium body and light carb. Light finish. More robust and dimensional than many a kolsch, but not to be confused with an over-the-top beer. Great stuff.

Yellow lager colour with a slight haze and minimal head. Citrus lemon aroma and a slight grain presence. Bubbly and citrusy body with light malts. Almost seemd like a thin hefe.

Twin Rivers Imperial IPA
As expected, this carried with it a very strong hop profile - not overly fresh in nature, but kind of minty. The strong alchohol gives the illusion of peppermint when combined with the bright hops; similarly, the aroma is actually quite spicy while simnultaneously sweet. An interesting combination, expanding hop options.
