Ærø’s usual design with two Lion heads (which looks a bit like angry porcupines) on the label. Pours clear dark maroon with a red hue and a small off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty and toasted odor mingling with a harsh bitter scent. Caramel, toffee and toasted bread. A bit of brown sugar. Linoleum and glue. Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and a little rough. Lingers for a bit. Finish is rather dry with a sweet touch.
