Brugge Tripel Wintergruut 3.5
Sampled draft @ Bierfestival Brugge 2016. Thank you for sharing! Near clear orange with an off-white head. Nose is weird metallic grassy herbal soapy spices, anise, real excess of spices which I cannot pinpoint. Nose is heavy sweet soap, umami, anise, herbal, ginger, ginseng, coriander, fizzy, metallic,…. A real excess of spices, which I cannot pinpoint. This is like drinking a spice rack. Body is a bit watery & metallic. Very odd at first but I did get into it, gets some using too, excessive but interesting brew. Odd but interesting. Interesting excess of spices.

Palm Cornet 2.6
Pale yellow colour. Medium head. Disapears quite quickly. Fruity but artificial metallic aroma. Some caramel at first. Fruits in the middle. But also somhow arificial. Sweet finish. Light bodied, high carbonated drinkable but somehow not impressive light beer.

Palm Speciale Belge (Belgian Amber) 2.6
BBE 23-04-2016. Todella hapokas, minimivaahtoinen, kuparinen lagerin olemus. Miedon makea maltaan tuoksu. Hapotettu, makeahko, liukas öljyinen, vetisehkö suutuntuma. Aika bleh belgiksi, mutta ihan ok.

Estaminet Premium Pils 3.1

Palm Speciale Belge (Belgian Amber) 2.7

Palm Cornet 3
Clear golden beer with nice bubbliness and a big foamy head. Peachy white peppery smell. Hay, lightly metallic, crisp. Hint n of caramel and mandarin. Taste is bitter sour with a dry watery sour finish. Slightly rotten sweetness. Malty.

Palm Speciale Belge (Belgian Amber) 2.4
Amber clear with almost no head. Typical malty-hoppy lager taste, but quite intense. Drinkable, but not too much to enjoy.

Palm Cornet 2.7

Palm Cornet 3.8
Interesting beer. Blond body, but appearing. Fizzy in a good way. Woody, golden malts, light spice, apricot. I dig it. Quite a sharp taste, but with the oak it actually works. Like the champagne like body a lot. Yeah, successful beer, surprisingly! (33cl bottle from Dranken Pauwels)

Estaminet Premium Pils 3
Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is pale golden colored and has a stable white head, with nice carbonation. The aroma is malty, with fruity notes like citrus, grass and some yeast. The taste is soft, light sweet and with a light bitter aftertaste in which notes from the aroma are well noticable. The finish is light dry, malty and light bitter.

Brugge Tripel 3.3
Carbonnation moyenne. Trouvé à la brasserie Delneste - Froidmont.

Palm Speciale Belge (Belgian Amber) 2.7
Expensive 0.75L bottle with champagne cork. Clear light amber with a big and fine white head. Maybe it’s the design, but it seems the beer does taste somehow noble with a very pleasant soft and smooth palate and very refreshing with high carbonation at the same time. However it does all this without any outstanding aromas, which leaves me wondering why this is supposed to be such a specialty.

Palm Dobbel 3.8
The beer has a beautiful amber color, with a little red glow. The beer pours a layer of slightly of white foam. The beer doesn’t poor a lot of foam, and the bulk collapses. A tiny drape of foam remains on top or the beer. The beer is perfectly clear. This fits the color beautifully. The beer has a very nice smell. It is slightly sour, sweet and a little bitter. The different aroma’s are in good balance. I smell a little bitter roast aroma. There is also a nice bittersweet almondy aroma. The beer also has something savory in the smell. This is quite nice, and not like most other beers. I like it. The taste of the beer is also quite nice. The little roast/smokey flavor is also present, so is the little savory sensation. It is a beer that is a good friend of some salty nuts. The taste also has a nice blend between sweet, a little sour and bitter. The bitterness is a little stronger in the taste than it was in the smell, but this is nice. It gives the beer a little more power. It sure is a nice beer to drink on a cold winter night.

Steenbrugge Abdij Bock 3.2

Moderate malty, toffee, caramel, toast, dried fruits.
Ruby/brown beer with a small off-white head.
Medium/heavy sweet, malts, caramel, toffee, dried fruits.

Palm Cornet 3.3
Robe blonde, mousse peu abondante.

Palm Speciale Belge (Belgian Amber) 3
25cl bottle, served in tulip glass. Poured a nice amber gold with a very small white head that disappeared quite fast. Aromas of roasted malt, walnuts, honey. Taste is a continuation of the aroma with vanilla, caramel, honey, nuts, toasted bread, some fruits. Light body with a short lasting but smooth bittersweet finish. Overall a very decent sweet, malty brew but for a top fermented ale it just lacks body. Clearly produced as a commercial, easy drinkable ale that you can enjoy every day.

Brugge Tripel 2.6
A tripel that does have a nice ’dark’ taste, but lacks an exciting complexity.
Thursday, January 07, 2016

Steenbrugge Abdij Bock 3.2
A decent bock, with nice dark and lightly sweeet tones and a smooth bitter aftertaste.
Thursday, January 07, 2016

Estaminet Premium Pils 3.3
BBE 24-03-16. Kirkas, peruslagerin olomuoto, lähes vaahdoton. Neutraalin raikkaahko tuoksu.

Steenbrugge Wit 2.9
Aromat przyjemnie cytrusowy, delikatne banany. Kolor słomkowy, mętny, Piana obfita, drobna, bardzo szybko opadająca do niskiej warstwy. W smaku wodniste, delikatnie cytrusowe, bardzo pijalne i orzeźwiające. Goryczki brak, wysycenie średnie. Przeciętny, zbyt płaski Witbier.

Arthur’s Legacy Saison d’Henriette 3.3
6th December 2015
The Pigs Ear wrap up tasting at ChrisO’s. Hazy gold beer, decent white head. Palate is airy, mildly dry and has decent fine carbonation. Nice sweetish floralness. Trace of herb. The floralness turns bitterish. Whisper of citrus. Light finish. Decent floral saison.

Brugge Tripel 3.3
As Brugge Tripel Gruit. Golden, thick white froth. Citrus smell, slightly funky. Smooth, a little sweet, not hoppy at all but also no sign of gruit. Nice, but not special.

Palm Cornet 3.1
This beer has a quite strong and characteristic taste, but the taste of alcohol on itself is dominating in the onset.
Saturday, January 02, 2016

Steenbrugge Tripel 3.2
Bottle - pours gold with White head. Aroma is spicey, berry and bit citrus. Taste is fruity up front but the dry finish is a bit metallic. Fizzy carbonation.

Palm Cornet 4
Bottled. The aroma has oak, earth yeast, light biscuit malts, bit grass/citric hops. Clear, golden coloured beer with a lasting, white head. The taste is light bitter, has biscuity sweetness, oak, bit earth. Nicely balanced. Underrated beer.

Palm Green 2.4
Bottle. Pours between blonde and amber, clear, with a small head. Smell is malty ( typical Palm malts) and sweet. taste is dissapointing, as it contains a lot of chemical sweeteners, and some malt-syrup, overpowering the nice palm maltyness. I was pretty sure beforehand that this was the same as palm green, but I seem to remember it being better than this. Perhaps my taste has changed though. For this specific beer, i was dissapointed, unfortunately.
Earlier Rating: 2/18/2013 Total Score: 3.5
rating from memories. yes i once drank 0% beers, when i was like 14-15. i remember this being very good, and had much taste, very similar to palm. not as wattery as other non-alcoholic beers

Palm Speciale Belge (Belgian Amber) 3.4
In my family many people drink Palm. So I say: drink it together, it’ll taste ever better! This beer is often on offer in crates or six-packs. Somewhat darker than pilsener, and very tasty. You must try this!

Steenbrugge Wit 3.4
Bottle. Malty, yeasty, with notes of white wine and herbs. Vanilla seems to have replaced the expected coriander. Crisp and very tasty.

Steenbrugge Tripel 3.2
750ml bottle - thanks Dovecot Xmas Party! (6:3:6+:4:13+=3.2++)
Slightly sour aroma, some raspberry. Super fruity taste. Is it pink, or is that the house lights?! Full palate, slightly sweet, pleasant carbonation. Stealth alcohol, covered by the sweetness. Slightly harsh hoppy finish.

Palm Hop Select 3.3
Bottle at home. Poors clear pale amber with medium white head. Sweet malts, slightly roasted caramel malts, corn, wheat, fruity hop, some resin. Over medium sweet, light bitter. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, slick. Carbo is low bit spikey with swallowing. Finish is long, sweet and dry with a hint of bitterness. Very proper brew but taste is flat and boring.

Arthur’s Legacy Created by Viki Geunes 3.8
At Kerstbierfestival 2015. Pours unclear yellow, small white head. Smell is sharp, bit booze. Taste is intense, bit sweet, thick maltyness. Mild honey aspects. Balanced.

Palm Speciale Belge (Belgian Amber) 2.5
(330 ml bottle) Aroma: pretty bland in smell. some wet paper and flat maltiness. Appearance: has a soft amber color, quite light and clear, light head that fizzes away quickly. Taste: some malt and grain, sweetness with some hops trying to break through. It’s as if they had a good recipe but watered it down a bit (so flavor-wise, just a bit weak). Palate: smooth, creamy/oily, a touch of hop bitterness on the follow-thru. The beer does seem to go flat quickly. Overall: I had higher expectations from a Belgian beer, so this just came off as an average beer. Definitely better than your average lager. Might make a good every day ale, as it is not too heavy.

Arthur’s Legacy Saison d’Henriette 2.8
Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-Xmas Tasting. It pours hazy gold with a thick white head. The nose is soft, sweet, banana, sweet brioche, white bread, cereal, candy and white sugar. The taste is bitter-sweet, toasted grain, grass, cracker, straw and peppery spice with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate+ foamy carbonation. A bit sweet and simple overall.

Arthur’s Legacy Created by Viki Geunes 3.7
Thank you! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen. Created for the same restaurant that brought us the first batch of Rodenbach Caractère Rouge. Apparently limited to 200 bottles. Label appears to imply Sherry barrel aging but I am not getting any clarity nor do I pick up any barrel in the taste. Hazy bright golden, non-lasting head. Nose is incredibly big & sweet banana, light vanilla, sugar, candy, sweet & very simple. Taste is fizzy big sweet banana, candy, light esters, vanilla, very basic & simple but agreeable enough given the good banana candy sweetness. Bit fizzy. Very fizzy but agreeable, very mainstream, better than the 2 other Arthur’s Legacy beers that I have tried but overall still just a decent sweet banana forward Belgian. Nothing that you need to pay much attention towards.

Arthur’s Legacy Saison d’Henriette 3.4
Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas / post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours hazy bright yellow with a creamy head. The nose holds pale bread, ripe lemon, mild phenolic character. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of lemon peel, pale bread, wheat and hay. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet, with light doughy wheat, faint bitter straw, more lemony notes. Not bad.
