330ml Bottle, poured into La Chouffe tulip. A: Pale golden, clear, large foamy head, good retention, left lots of lacing. S: Initially there was a slight noble hop aroma which gave way to phenols, booze and tangerine. T: Basically it followed the nose before a lingering boozy finish kicked in. M: Crisp texture, light body for the high abv. O: Looked good, felt good but lacked something.

Pretty clear golden body with a white head. Quite mild aroma with pale malt, slightly spicy and some kind of berries (I was actually not aware of that this was pear, so my notes says some kind of undefined berries). Flavor is light, refreshing, slightly spicy with low bitterness and some kind of fruit/berry flavor. Medium body and light in aftertaste. Nothing impressive at the first sips, but refreshing and easy drinkable with no off flavors.

Bottle at home. Aroma is sweetish malt, caramel, toffee, ripe darkish fruits, spicy and herbal notes, with some hoppy notes in the finish. Flavour is sweet with a decent and long bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Good beer, but calling this an IPA is silly.

Clear orange colour with a pillowy large bit off-white head. Aromas of pale malt, some straw and fruit yeast esters predominate yet offers a whaff of DMS, which is disappointing. Average carbonation, bit slick, and medium-full bodied. Alcohol-aromatic, malty sweetness with some herbal influences dominate. Lasting sweet bit cloying finish.

The best thing about this beer is the fantastic glass. It started out fine, but got extremely dry after a while, while the taste was ’leveling’. Not sure what the term for that is, but the taste sort of dissipated the more you had. We suddenly realized we had sitting around with this beer for a very long time, forgetting to drink it. Others on here describe the taste better, I can’t remember very well because I was completely absent minded while drinking it. The only thing that was surprising was the sausagy hint of a porter, probably due to the oak that led to strangely comparable results. I was excited about it supposedly containing vanilla notes, but couldn’t detect it. It’s still solid though, it’s decent middle of the road, as can be expected from Steenhuffel.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Spicy grainy nose. Copper coloured beer with Thin sudsy white head. Fine bubbles. Light bodied and zingy. Crisp dry finish. This beer does have characteristics of Champagne along with a touch of English bitter, even a little dried fruit. Easy drinking for an ale. Very nice.

Aangenaam aroma, smaak is inderdaad kruidig, hoppige bitterheid ontbreekt. De smaak wordt echter te veel overheerst door de alcohol. Geen doordrinker. Misschien zou dit grutenbier mij beter bevallen moest het een lager alcoholgehalte hebben.

Quite good, dense & fine light yellow head, stable over quite lively carbonated clear copperish golden beer. Malty nose with white candi sugar, caramel, parsley and yeasttouches as fruity esters. Slightly toasted. Burning MF with a strange composite flavour that is bitterish, sweet-ish and toasted at the same time. Hints at mold, without being musty in character. Retronasal some human sweat. Bit agressive MF, aided by the very lively carbonation. Bit sticky, medium bodied. Generally lame... as befits Familie.
