Ninkasi Ginger & Juice
22 oz bottle- Pours light hazy with a thin creamy head. Aroma is grainy, lemon, apricot if i think about it, and noticeable ginger. Taste is strong ginger, yeasty, lemon, grainy, light dry bitterness at the back end. Crisp and clean, but the flavors arenít really meshing for me. Itís not bad, but not my thing.

Ninkasi Maiden the Shade
Bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a finger thick white head and good lacing. Smells very woodsy, some olive, mild grapefruit, light tangerine, a hint of rotten eggs. Tastes light and mild, citrus flavor. Mild bitterness, more medium in the aftertaste. More pluses than minuses.

Ninkasi Helles Belles
Draft. Pours a thin white, poorly retained white head, over a very slightly hazy yellow (SRM 3 ) body......nose is mild malts with light biscuit, light ginger with herbal notes from the hops, balanced.......taste is mild light colored fruits (pear, apple) with light sweetness, light lemon tones, mild spice, finishing with moderate noble type bitterness, balanced......mouth feel, light of medium body, no alcohol, high carbonation. This is a light, refreshing, summer beer, with much more going on than the typical lawnmower beer. It comes nicely close to the light style. BJCP 8/2/16/5/7

Ninkasi Ground Control - Bourbon Barrel Aged
Nose is bourbon and cinnamon. Like a peppermint patty. Weird. Light licorice. More of dark twizzler as it warms. Taste is nutty with a light boozy undertone. Some sweet buttery treat like a werthers original. Butterscotch. Light Nutella with some toasty flavored. Kind of a mess of ingredients that never hit harmony together. Meh. Waste of $15

Ninkasi Beer Run IPA
Citrus hips and sweet malt aromas come from this slightly hazy yellow brew. Sweet citrus upfront in this relatively full bodied beer the bitterness comes in during the aftertaste and lingers.

Ninkasi Easy Way IPA
Appearance: clear pale gold with one finger of rocky white head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: lemony citrus, pine, crackery pale malt, grass, floral. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Medium-light body, lively carbonation, off-dry moderately bitter finish. (4/5) The label just calls this an IPA, but Iíd consider it more of a S/IPA, both in terms of ABV and body. That being said, it doesnít seem thin or watered-down. Theyíve certainly done a good job of keeping bright hoppy flavours while lowering the gravity. Good example of the style, if not particularly memorable. This would be a good beer for a hot day on a sunny patio. (15/20)

Ninkasi Beer Run IPA
Appearance: clear medium gold with two fingers of rocky off-white head, excellent retention and decent lacing. (4/5) Aroma: pithy grapefruit, pine, pale malt, tropical fruit tones. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, high bitter. (7/10) Medium slightly oily body, moderate carbonation, lingering and building bitter finish. (4/5) Not completely convinced by this one: yes, thereís a fairly big bitter going on - which is definitely to the good - but it seems just a touch unbalanced, or at least not well represented by the aromas. If I had to choose, Iídíve suggested a bit more dry hopping and a bit less hops in the boil. Not a lot, by any means, but I think a slight tweak of the balance here would be a big improvement. Well, that and hiring an actual graphic artist to do the label, instead of the ownerís 10-year-old child (or maybe 20-year-old mistress-with-pretensions-of-artistry). Yes, it really is that cartoonishly bad. If you donít want to spend money on your labels, follow De Molenís lead. Otherwise, step it up like Driftwood did. (15/20)

Bottle. Orange-yellow, slightly hazed. This is a nice, slightly-funky but overall fruity offering. Like eating a pulpy orange, the acidic burn lingers on the palate for a quite a bit. (#6239, 7/17/2016)

Ninkasi Critical Hit Barley Wine
650ml bomber pours amber in color with a 2 finger white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and caramel with some earthy and grainy notes. Taste is a citrus and earthy hop bitterness with a fruit and caramel malty sweetness with a light alcohol burn in the finish. Medium to full bodied with good carbonation for the style. Overall, a very nicely done barley wine that is hoppier than most beers of this style, but still balanced and not too over the top. Highly recommended.

Ninkasi Oatis Oatmeal Stout - Vanilla
Decent, if maybe a little underwhelming. Pours very dark brown, no real head. The aroma is bitter bakerís chocolate, but itís very restrained. The flavor is restrained, too. I donít pick up on the usual rich, cereal malt thing that I enjoy about oatmeal stouts. The front of the tongue is watery, but the finish is a little better. A little bitter, roasted malt, and just the slightest hint of vanilla show up on the back end.

Ninkasi Tricerahops Double IPA
July 18th, 2014 - The Triceratops, the best hops pun named beer Iíve ever heard (though I am a child of the 80ís, when dinosaurs were all the rage, alongside ninja turtles) is a delicate beer, despite the rumbling, roaring name. The aroma out of the taster snifter is muted, but I do catch a little pineapple. More frenzied sniffing reveals some pineapple and mashed apple, too, with a light hop character to wrap the fruits in. But the flavor is considerably sweeter, amplifying the fruits found in the nose, which start to outstrip the hop cones. Itís fine drinking, but the hops is just a touch subdued. I think I need to try a full 16 oz. pour to give this one the attention it deserves.
