Vinosa, dolciastra, leggermente alcolica al naso con sentori di frutta passita; gusto dolce, rotondo, debolmente oleoso con note candite e quasi sciroppate. CEZ	3 Piccolo Birrificio Bodega Fizzy brew, medium brown body, with a completely disappearing head. Sweet and salty in the mouth, vinous character as expected, but surprisingly sour. Medium to light mouthfeel. Rather nice finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Not quite the usual dark, warm and deep barley wine. Reminescent of a sour ale. Thursday, October 30, 2014

conway	3.4 Piccolo Birrificio Chiostro Draft. A little tough to rate because I've never had absinthe on its own. Pours a hazy gold with a huge white head. Aroma is fruity and a little woody. Taste more or less follows suit. Apparently the wordiness is absinthe? Solid citrus notes interspersed. Excellent dry crisp mouthfeel that disappears quickly. On its own merits quite good. Aroma of wood, lightly vinous, and fruity. Still carbonated in the mouth, the body is thin, the mouthfeel light; moderate malt flavor with elegant wine notes, light fruitiness, a touch of spirit; correct bitterness; light residual sweetness. It suffers from the light body combined with the high carbonation, the final dryness, but it’s quite pleasant overall. Not impressive though. Thursday, August 15, 2013

patrickfannon	4.6 Piccolo Birrificio Chiostro On tap at Alla Spina with Shin Tommy before helping Devin move. Pours turbid, hazy raw honey gold with a fat, sticky, tightly-bubbled white head. Aroma of pears, ripe Granny Smith apple, peaches, freshly-picked lavender, and some odd tea, grass, and spring-air notes. Aroma is a fucking knockout. Taste is sour gummy worms, peaches, tart pear, and just a subtle hint of fresh apple juice. This tastes overwhelmingly like the skins of apples and pears with a dose of peach/apricot stone fruit with a touch of funk. Ever-so-slightly sour and beautifully balanced. This beer is fantastic and I would drink it all night if I could. Holy shit. fidelis83	2 Piccolo Birrificio Seson Hazy peach gold pour with a 2 finger, soapy, bright white head. Very fruity aroma, lots of lemon, some stone fruit and white grape, wheat, flroal notes and an acidic undertone. Flavor is also very lemony, also lots of wheat, floury grain, floral notes, berry scented glycerine soap, finishes with a fermented citrus juice flavor that lasts a long time. Light to medium body, dry, but oily feel and light carbonation with a slightly chalky finish. I didn’t really enjoy this at all, tastes like spontaeously fermented lemonade + possibly decent Saison Radler. It all comes out wrong. It does look decent and if I really concentrated on the mouthfeel instead of the flavor, the mouthfeel wasn’t too bad either. Monday, March 25, 2013

Chipalsa	3.4 Piccolo Birrificio Chiostro Couldn’t pass up on this one. The body poured a murky yellow with an impressive billowy head. Aromas were full of yeast, leaves, hops and fresh bread. The taste was yeasty as well, but with some light grassy notes all about. I love my absinthe, but it’s just not here. Undertones of old hops and citrus fruit blend well with mellow spices. Rossa rubino, bellissima, viva e intensa, appena torbida, schiuma bianco sporca, poco abbondante. Naso fantastico, note di legno, ciliegia, vaniglia, mentuccia. In bocca è magnificamente equilibrata, appena dolciastra, con un bell’acido deciso, un tocco legnoso, un finale astringente, secco e pulito. Corpo medio, carbonazione soft. Magnifica sour ale.
