cmacklin	2.8 Cariboo Malt 473ml can. Pours a crystal clear amber with a medium, foamy, short lived, white head that laces. Sweet aroma of bready pale malt, red apple and floral hops. Sweet flavour of grainy pale malt, corn, red apple, sugar and floral hops in a sweet finish. Medium body with a sticky, syrupy texture and average to soft carbonation. The attendant has that oil soaked rag, you're eating corn chips, someone in the area is smoking a cigarette. The hitchhiker in the back seat cracks open a beer and dumps it all over the floor. Oakes	3 Canterbury Dunkel Can. Has a nice amber-brown colour. Some particulate floating in it, though. I wouldn't have expected that from this beer/brewery, but ok. The nose leads with caramel. On the palate, it's more towards toffee, but light. Fairly light body, but just enough residual sugar. I mean, it's industrial, like Warsteiner Dark or something, so not the sort of dunkel I'd get excited about, but you'd find random beers like this in most kiosks or getrankemarkt in Germany. DeanF	2.4 Pacific Western Ironhorse Rating #6666 - what better way to celebrate than with a cheap bargain basement lager? Pours a clear and clean gold with okay white foam, smells of wet grain doused in nail polish remover but nothing too excessive. Flavour is a harsh mix of caramel and cardboard. Dry finish, alcohol is reasonably well hidden. Leaves a film of wax on the tongue. Drank chilled it's not awful but this is nothing you'd want to savour. Chewy and fake but there are far worse cheap strong lagers out there. Saturday, May 2, 2020

Sweet flavour of grainy pale malt, overripe apple and corn in a sweet, almost cloying finish. Light body with a thin, watery texture and average carbonation. stantheman	1.9 PWB Classic TNT Extra Strong 8% From a short single can purchased at High Point Liquor in east Vancouver. A slightly reddish amber beer with white head and lots of sweet corn on the nose. Cloyingly and sickeningly sweet corn on the palate. There are better 8% malt liquor beers out there. Even if your objective is maximum buzz in a cheap short can, there're better ones. Faxe Royal Strong is one. There are others. Monday, April 6, 2020

stantheman	3.4 Canterbury Dunkel From a tall can, purchased locally in the Greater Vancouver area. A dark mahogany colored beer with oh so generous beige head and a sweet malted nose. Sweet medium dark roasted malts on the palate. Unable to try them side by side, but not as good as the Pacific Schwarzbock I had a few months ago. I was able to compare side by side with (get this!) Molson Fireside Lager. I prefer the Molson product as the malts have more roasted flavor. Monday, November 18, 2019
