1.6 Cariboo Genuine Draft hoppy, like a malt liquor like old stock, not very enjoyable but very popular due to it's lower price Monday, April 15, 2024

2.8 Cariboo Malt 473ml can. Pours a crystal clear amber with a medium, foamy, short lived, white head that laces. Sweet aroma of bready pale malt, red apple and floral hops. Sweet flavour of grainy pale malt, corn, red apple, sugar and floral hops in a sweet finish. Medium body with a sticky, syrupy texture and average to soft carbonation. Not terrible, but too sweet for me. Tuesday, February 20, 2024

1.7 Pacific Free Smells similar to their Pilsner which is expected, but I am hoping for something different. Almost completely flat. Sweet, with a bit of off funk. Not good but not nearly as offensive as pacific Pilsner. Undated can. Friday, December 29, 2023

2.3 Canterbury Dark Mild The head dissipates quickly and the carbonation looks like pop. The taste is fairly mild but not malty and rounded like youd hope. Theres some sweetness on the aftertaste, and the flavour is vaguely toffee. Not what I was hoping for but it's palatable. Undated can. Wednesday, May 24, 2023

1.5 Cariboo Blonde Taste is kind of like pickles and corn. It has an astringent vinegar like taste. It seems kind of like a bad wheat beer. Friday, April 21, 2023

1.5 Pacific Pilsner probably the worst pilsners I have tasted so far. It has a weird sort of funk that tastes bad. Tastes worse in a glass than can. has sour and somehow burnt notes to it. Friday, February 10, 2023

4 Cariboo Wild Sour Cherry [11359-20190228] Can. Fragrant cherry cordial and musky wood aroma. Slightly hazy, dark red body with no lasting head. super cherry fruit is tart and musky. Medium body is a little sour. Great balance, a delicious beverage. (8/3/10/4/15) 4.0 Sunday, November 20, 2022

2.4 Cariboo Honey Lager Can at park birthday party Copper brown and clean. It has some brown sugar hint, faint nuttiness, very low bitterness. Clean and useless. Sunday, July 3, 2022

2.1 Cariboo Malt Bigly white foam on a well carbonated pale yellow body. Smells somewhere between corn, nail polish remover, and an old gas pump. The attendant has that oil soaked rag, you're eating corn chips, someone in the area is smoking a cigarette. The hitchhiker in the back seat cracks open a beer and dumps it all over the floor. All of that, yes, it's all here. Saturday, April 30, 2022

1.5 Cariboo Genuine Draft 473w ml can. Pours a clear gold with moderate head that settles quickly. Aromas of corn syrup and sweet grainy malts. Flavors of same with additional cardboard. Very sweet. Insipid. Sunday, February 20, 2022

2.5 Cariboo FHSR Smoking Waters On tap at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Medium clear gold body and modest foam. Soft corn and bitter hops on the nose, slightly sweet. Taste is more sweet corn, lingering sugar, slightly cloying chemical notes. Okay carbonation. Palatable macro fare. Friday, July 30, 2021

3 Canterbury Dunkel Can. Has a nice amber-brown colour. Some particulate floating in it, though. I wouldn't have expected that from this beer/brewery, but ok. The nose leads with caramel. On the palate, it's more towards toffee, but light. Fairly light body, but just enough residual sugar. I mean, it's industrial, like Warsteiner Dark or something, so not the sort of dunkel I'd get excited about, but you'd find random beers like this in most kiosks or getrankemarkt in Germany. 2.4 Pacific Western Ironhorse Rating #6666 - what better way to celebrate than with a cheap bargain basement lager? Pours a clear and clean gold with okay white foam, smells of wet grain doused in nail polish remover but nothing too excessive. Flavour is a harsh mix of caramel and cardboard. Dry finish, alcohol is reasonably well hidden. Leaves a film of wax on the tongue. Drank chilled it's not awful but this is nothing you'd want to savour. Chewy and fake but there are far worse cheap strong lagers out there. Saturday, May 2, 2020

2.1 Cariboo Genuine Draft 473ml can. Pours a clear gold with a small, creamy, short lived, white head that laces. Faint aroma of grainy pale malt, apple and corn. Sweet flavour of grainy pale malt, overripe apple and corn in a sweet, almost cloying finish. Light body with a thin, watery texture and average carbonation. Not offensive, it's refreshing and easy to drink, just bland and boring. Friday, April 24, 2020

1.9 PWB Classic TNT Extra Strong 8% From a short single can purchased at High Point Liquor in east Vancouver. A slightly reddish amber beer with white head and lots of sweet corn on the nose. Cloyingly and sickeningly sweet corn on the palate. There are better 8% malt liquor beers out there. Even if your objective is maximum buzz in a cheap short can, there're better ones. Faxe Royal Strong is one. There are others. Monday, April 6, 2020

3.4 Canterbury Dunkel From a tall can, purchased locally in the Greater Vancouver area. A dark mahogany colored beer with oh so generous beige head and a sweet malted nose. Sweet medium dark roasted malts on the palate. Unable to try them side by side, but not as good as the Pacific Schwarzbock I had a few months ago. I *was* able to compare side by side with (get this!) Molson Fireside Lager. I prefer the Molson product as the malts have more roasted flavor. Monday, November 18, 2019

1.7 Cariboo Malt 0.473l can. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma of corn and grainy, skunky sweetnes. Taste is sweet with notes of wet socks. It takes effort to make something this bad. At least you get drunk fast and forget about this experience. Thursday, September 12, 2019

2.1 Scandal Sugarloaf 750ml bailer top bottle, cellared for at least 5 years. Attack: dull crisp Mids: cheap molasses, stale cacao nibs, lvl5-sweetness, metallic musky barley malt Finish: lingering gag reflex inducing malt Overall: very messy, definitely not an imperial stout, somewhat like a strong brown ale, but with some prominent off flavours. Not recommended. Wednesday, June 12, 2019

1.1 Scandal Organic Lager Golden, There's a bit of sweet pale malt on the nose, maybe some vegetal. This is quite sweet, and the pale malt character is predominant. Friday, May 17, 2019

2 Scandal Organic Lager 473mL can, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is pretty herbal, with grassy notes, straw, and some cabbage. Flavour is quite sweet and herbal, with straw, grassy notes, and a herbal character. Sweet, cerealy finish. It's better than expected, but not good. Friday, May 17, 2019

2 Pacific Free Tastes like mass produced light beer, which may be good or bad depending who you ask. I prefer more substantial flavours, but glad something exists like this for those who want a simple and basic light tasting beer. Friday, May 3, 2019

3.4 Cariboo Wild Sour Cherry 2019-02-28. Dark red body, small pink froth fades. 3+ Aroma of sweet cherry, hints of cherry lifesavers. Flavour is similar, strong sweet cherry flavour, very little cider coming through. Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Decent, but it's basically cherry juice. 7/3/7/3/14 Can courtesy of Ferris. Friday, March 1, 2019

1.7 Scandal Paricutin Rye Triplebock 750ml bottle @ Erik's. Pours a murky medium brown colour with a thin beige head. Nose is a mix of cardboard and caramel with a bread note. 3.4 Pacific Schwarzbock A single tall can from Oceanside Liquor store in West Vancouver. A very dark beer with ruby highlights, generous tan head, and a pleasant malted nose. Mild and pleasant sweet roasted malts on the palate, with notes of caramel and cocoa. Low bitterness as expected. A schwarzbier, sure enough. Decent. 3.4 Sunday, September 30, 2018
