Durham Bedes Chalice 3.3
Bottle shared at home - erupted once opened so unfortunately 1/3 of this ended up on my bar top and in the washing up bowl. In spite of that it poured a clear golden with a fizzy, lively white head which quickly faded away. Aroma of alcohol, orange and lemon with a hint of coriander. Taste is sweet with orange and lemon again. Light body, prickly carbonation and warming.

Durham Smoking Blonde 2.8
Cask conditioned at The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer, Bristol. Gold with white head. I may have missed something here, but wasn’t this supposed to be smoked? I didn’t pick any smokiness out at all. There was a sweetish, jammy, marmalade note, a little thin on the palate. Sweet in the close. Just a little disappointing.

Durham Redemption 3.9
from Mondial de la Bière, Strasbourg - opaque ruby-brown beer with a moderate beige foam left; aroma of molasses, figs and raisins, toasted; thick, full-bodied and fairly sweet; sticky and malty finish with long notes of honey, nuts, molasses, prunes and figs; some warming alcohol notes - rich and robust

Durham Evensong 2.8
Light brown/dark red, small and weak head that recedes quickly. Aroma is fruity (cherry?), slightly nutty, maybe with a hint of earthiness. Taste is mostly sweet with toffee and some fruitiness. A hint of tea-like bitterness in the finish and in the aftertaste. Light to medium body, very light carbonation; smooth and easy, a bit too thin. The overall feeling is good as the beer is very smooth and drinkable; still, not much is going on

Durham Diabolus 3.3
Bottle conditioned. Mahogany with no head. Oak and alcohol. Turkish delight, milk chocolate, black malt. Sour with some roasted malt notes. I’m open minded but a stout gueze cross was a bit outré for me.

Durham Temptation 3.5
Aromat: gorzka czekolada, paloność, niezbyt intensywny. Wygląd: barwa czarna, piana raczej średnia Smak: wytrawne, gorzka czekolada, w tle paloność, goryczka średnia, trochę alkoholowe. Tekstura: za mało ciała - średnio pełne, wysycenie niskie. Ogólne wrażenie: niezły ris, chociaż mało stylowy, bliżej mu do FES-a. W smaku i aromacie głównie gorzka czekolada, na minus należy zaliczyć za mała ilość ciała oraz byt wyraźny alkohol.

Durham Diabolus 3.5
Bought this bottle in Q3 2015 and consumed at home in late February 2016. AROMA: Burnt caramel, leathery. Fruity. APPEARANCE: On first glance jet black. Slight red hue. Tiny head and loads of lacing. TASTE: Burnt caramel, dates, raisins, sour. Chocolate was for me really detectable. PALATE: Sour, little if any carbonation but it works. Long lasting finish. ABV is detectable.Slight lingering bitterness from the chocolate notes. OVERALL: Not bad, this was my second bottle. For a dark sour though Rullquin for example is preferable for me.

Durham Bombay 106 2.8
Bottle from the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a frothy white head and the smallest touch of carbonation. The nose is full of unexpected and interesting medicinal, herbal and clove character. The taste opens very bitter and stays that way into a long finish but there are some slightly sweeter wheat beer type flavours present too. On the whole it’s overly dry for my liking - verging on astringent - while its flavours fail to mask its overt, boozy strength. Expected better.

Durham Finchale Abbaye 4
Piana beżowa, średnio obfita. Barwa ciemno brązowa, prawie czarna, z mahoniowymi refleksami. W afterteasie lekka pikantność i kandyzowane owoce.

Durham Temptation 3.9
Piwo czarne z lekką pianą która ładnie lejcuje. W zapachu wyczuwalne nuty czekolady i karmelu. Zapach jest bardzo złożony. W smaku głównie czuć nuty gorzkiej czekolady, finisz lekko goryczkowy. Pijąc je mam wrażenie że jest "gęste". Po przełknięciu zostaje w ustach lekki posmak alkoholu...

Durham White Stout 3.3
Bottle. A very interesting label, a white stout... This should be interesting. It pours a hazy darker golden beer with a good amount of white head on top. Aroma is pretty malt forward, not roasty or toasty in any way, but hints of sweeter caramel and some white fruits. Flavor is moderately sweet, fruity and has some dark fruit notes. Not sure when the stout influences will kick as I know it. Full bodied, long flavored and well balanced. Interesting take, interesting style...

Durham Diabolus 3.5
330ml at home in Richmond. As ’Durham Diabolus’, 10%, BB Jan 2017 (2012 vintage?), one of 1000 bottles. Pitch black with a big foamy brown head, light lacing. Aroma is chocolatey, lemon, dried out car air freshener, softmints. Body is rounded, soft carbonation, a touch foamy. Taste is chocolatey, some sharp tang, mouth puckering lemon, mint, fairly acidic and dry into the finish. An interesting experiment, but doesn’t come together that well. Slow drinking. Would I prefer to have a gueuze and a stout separately? Absolutely. Not dissimilar to the bottled version of Harveys Imperial Stout. Sour stouts can be OK when it’s subtle. Like the Harveys, this is too much, but it grew on me a lot.

Durham 1994 3.4
Bottled on 28/06/2014. Kirkkaan lagerimainen väri, olematon vaahto. Tuoksu mietoa ipamaisuutta kissankusen kera, bonuksena väkevyyttä, luumuviinaakin lämmettyään. Suutuntuma vahva mutta mieto, ristiriitainen yhdistelmä. Jälkifiiliksenä vahva alapäinen alkoholinen överiannostus ilman kompensoivaa yläkitalaen fiilistä, lämmintä marjaa löytyy myös lämpöisenä. Lämpöisenä lasin pohjia juodessa aika kiva, ensin alkuun en lämmennyt.

Durham Diabolus 3.3
