Small white head. Slightly hazy yellow body. Floral minty toffee aroma with sugary pine needle notes. Dry-sweet spicy peas and flowers taste with toffee notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, flat mouthfeel. Dryish orangey peas aftertaste with mealy floral notes. Odd, and in parts it’s great. Grew on me as I drank. Surprisingly Lithuanian. (0.568l cask, at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen.)

Wonderful beer. After the strength of the ripper the aroma and taste of this one was enhanced. Very much a honey taste with slightly grassy aroma. Though this may be caused by the teeth suckling flavour of the previous beer

Crouch Vale Yakima Gold
Cask at the Market Tavern, Durham, £3.55/pint. A good looking pale amber beer with a smooth, white head. Not much to the nose but hints of cut grass and hay. Taste has well balanced slightly grassy sweetness and long dry, slightly resinous finish. Some pine in flavour. I was surprised to find there were Amarillo hops in this as it lacks their typical puckering citrus punch. That’s not to say it wasn’t enjoyable though.

Crouch Vale Mosaic
Cask conditioned at The Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell, London. Gold with white head. There was a flowery, perfumed, slightly oily character to this beer. The perfumed note gave some bitterness, but there was an overall oily, flabby note to it. I love Mosaic hops under normal circumstances but perhaps this was a little overladen. Still drinkable though.

September 10, 2014 - at The Harp (Chados Pl) - on handpull. Clear gold, lightly bubbly, a very appealing large and lasting foamy off-white head - looks like a painting. "sackful of hops"?? - not much aroma to this, mate - floral, light grain - simple golden ale (7-). Taste - only lightly hoppy bog-standard golden - my voice note says "meh - figure out something to say" - average everything, slight build-up of grassy bitterness in the quickish finish - not memorable and next time FILL the damned sack with hops, lads.
