Steel Reserve Alloy Series Hard Pineapple 211
24oz can picked up at a 7-11 in Sparks
Pours fluorescence yellow/green, small white head, no lacing. Not a terrible drink but I can’t finish my taster glass, let alone the can. Sweet and tart.

Can at Zion, Utah. Clear pale yellow pour. Corn, a bit sweet, watery, and some stale old bread. Really light and watered down compared to the normal version. That being said its actually somewhat easy to drink.

Can, Ann Arbor, MI via Kroger. Yellow, frothy head. Very little aroma. Corn and faint pepper. Carbonated sweet flavour. Nothing offensive but very little to say about it.

Steel Reserve Alloy Series Hard Pineapple 211
24 ounce can at Daney’s Liquors in Monterey, CA for the low price of $2.25. Yellow green pour with absolutely no head. Aroma is fruit punch. Flavor is pineapple candy with a slight alcohol finish. Level of carbonation is high. Body is light. Brew is very easy to drink and is really not too unpleasant. If you want a good bang for the buck brew, this and its other Steel Reserve fruited siblings are the way to go.

Yellow pour, fizzy head. Slightly grainy and corny aroma and taste, lightly vegetal and light grass. Odd harsh finish with a metallic aftertaste. Watery body. Would probably be one of the better swill beers if not for the harsh finish.

Redd’s Cranberry Ale
Redd’s Cranberry Ale has an off-white head that fizzes right away, a clear, somewhat bubbly, peach or rose’ appearance, and no lacing left behind. The aroma is of cranberry fruit, with an underlying standard ale (think of Foster’s Premium Ale). Taste is of cranberry fruit flavor and blonde ale (white bread, white bread crust, and no bitterness, in this case). Mouthfeel is low medium, and Redd’s Cranberry Ale finishes crisp, refreshing, and easy going. RJT

Aroma of caramel and banana, and hint of flowers. Golden, clear beer with a frothy white head, that dissipates slowly. Sweet taste, that reminds of honey. Light bitterness. Overall a decent thirst quencher that I enjoyed

Steel Reserve Alloy Series Blk Berry 211
From the 25 oz. can with an expiration date of Sept 19, 2016. It pours purple with a purple head. The head fades fast. Any kind of toasted grain or grassy hop sensations are drowning in the aroma of blackberry juice or jam. The body is smoother than its standard older brother so I will give it that. The taste is more abundantly sweet with blackberry juice but there is just a slight bready malt character underneath with a carbonated finish. You could pound one of these down quickly as a fruit drink but then your head would hate you later.

Steel Reserve Alloy Series Spiked Punch 211
Can pour at the May 1st DC Tasting. Just like the Hurricane Bud Light Mixx Tail. This drinks like a fruit punch. No beer notes at all. Fruit juice red color. Pink fizzy head. Reminds me of bad decisions from college. Do I give it a good score because it nailed a fruit punch? Do I give it a bad review because it’s highly artificial tasting and stretches the limits as to what a beer is? I’ll go with that latter. This is good stuff for people who hate beer and that’s about the nicest thing I can say beyond nailing exactly what they were going for.

Borttle @ Amenia. Appearance: pours clear yellow with ok soapy white head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, corn and faint floral notes. palette: light malty aroma, average carbonation, light body, medium sweetness, somewhat balanced by a ligt to medium bitterness, short duration and a watery texture. Overall: thin and uninspiring

Pour is a still dark piss yellow, leaves some tiny lacing surprisingly. Smell is boatloads of creamed corn with some fusel alcohol thrown in...and the taste is the same. Sweet apple peel, syrup and sugary breakfast cereal. Choke.

Mickeys Fine Malt Liquor
Poured from the infamous 12 OZ big mouth bottle right into my pie hole. The appearance is a clear golden yellow with a small white head. The aroma is basic American Malt Liquor. The taste is a notch up on most malt liquors, I rate this in the same class as Colt 45 and Private Stock, I consider them uhhmm, err top shelf in the malt liquor world.

Pours clear golden, not much head. Aroma delivers wan malty and hoppy notes. Flavor is barely like a beer at all - malty, a teeny bit fruity and hoppy, but not beer-ish. Mouthfeel features barely acceptable body and fizz. When will anyone brew an acceptable "near beer"? Probably after the Detroit Lions win the Super Bowl.

Steel Reserve 211 High Gravity
First ’Tramp Juice’ of my 2016 Californian adventure, 24 once can into a La Chouffe badged stemmed tulip three times on 27th April. Actually I liked the sweetness and malty base, not too keen on the corn flavour and alcohol content that could not be hidden by the week flavours or depth of body, the head could have hung around longer too. I have sat on park benches drinking worse, but I will not be revisiting this ’brown paper bag’ beer again unless I need a hangover and headache.

smell of apple peel, sweetness and corn. my thought was the combo of sweet and corn almost smells like a frosted flake? I love those things. Taste is unlike a frosted flake though, super sweet but has an almost bitter palate which gives it maddddddd points

Green stumpy bottle share at Cotteridge II as Mickeys Fine Malt Liquor. Many thanks to Macboost, Martin and Rich for this fine malt liquor. Clear yellow, still, small foamy off-white head. Aroma is corny, biscuity malt. Body is smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is pasta, rice, pale malt, water. Insipid and starchy. (1.4)

Pounder: Apple juice nose. Clear amber, no visible carbonation. Sweet, apple juice. Finishes drier. Full body, moderate carbonation. No nuance, just fizzy apple juice that gets you drunk. Completely not fancy, but still enjoyable in a way.

If you want an inexpensive beer, this is it. Mix it with a craft beer, high quality stout or IPA, and you save yourself about 35% of the cost and no one will know the difference. I am a Democratic who is not out to impress anyone, who just want quality taste, and no prestige.

Can pour into nonic pint glass. Aroma is cracker, slightly metallic. Appearance is clear golden yellow with nice sparkle, fizzy white head with fair retention and trace lacing. Taste is lightly sweet bready malt. Palate is medium bodied with average to lively carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall, certainly no complexity here but it’s not like it tastes bad. I’d take it over a great sour any day.

Pours a very clear, very light straw color. About two fingers white fluffy head. Good lacing, good retention. It’s very well carbonated.

Aroma is more corn than barley. Slightly hopped aroma, lightly metallic.

Taste is corn forward. Sweet corn. Maybe a little more hoppy than many lagers. There might be a little cooked vegetable Taste, but again, that’s corn.

Mouthfeel is medium. Very carbonated, and that probably helps a lot. It’s smooth, easy drinking.

Overall, it’s cheap, and tastes cheap. BUT, it’s really good. For cheap beer, this is probably the best. In would buy this again, and I would certainly recommend it.

Smith & Forge Hard Cider
Not my style but it was what I expected from one of the largest beer companies in the world. Distinct mineral character typically associated with hard cider made from concentrate. The sweetness made it appear to be trying too hard to taste like apple. That being said, this cider will appeal to a younger consumer who’s just getting into this beverage category. The reality is that Smith & Forge will be a big reason for the cider industry’s future growth. They have an approachable gateway product but consumers will quickly learn that there are many others out there.
