Arrogant Bastard Ale - Bourbon Barrel
Excellente. Miam !

Stone IPA (India Pale Ale)
Pression.

Bof.

Stone Citrusy Wit
Poured from a bottle. Golden with a slight hue of orange, cloudy and some haze. Aroma and flavors are a lot of coriander and cardamon. A bit too much for my palate. Getting past those flavors there are signs of grass and biscuit. Carbonation is pleasant.

Stone Citrusy Wit
Brandon, Fl - Craft Beer Cellar - 12 oz bottle. Slight haze to the light golden pour, tight off-white head that sticks around a while. Aroma has some very bitter lemony accents, reminds me of Canada Dry Bitter Lemon mixer. Solid flavor, very tart, some lemony accents, a touch of yeasty sweetness, light vanilla sweetness in the finish. nice spritz to the mouthfeel. Pretty solid.

Stone Mocha IPA
Really nice. At first all delicious hop aroma. Hops and mocha in the first taste. This changed as the chocolate and cinnamon was pick up in the aroma. I find it nice. I'm fine with only one for now but I'm glad I had this one. Plus offers a well rounding IIPA experience. Not one sided. Awesome aromas ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Stone Delicious IPA
12 oz. bottle, consumed on 6-25-16. Juicy hops dominate the aroma. Scents of peach, apricot pie, and cotton candy. Some dryness in the smell. Lightly hazy, bright gold. Moderate effervescence. Small amount of beige head. I like the brightness and the effervescence. A bit sharp in flavor. Dry and chalky. Pencil shavings. The hops seem to be fading on this one. A bit of honeyed juiciness. Apricot and peach. A little bit of matzos in a way that hints that it’s low in gluten. Medium body. Lively in the palate. Pleasant and slightly above average IPA. I would have expected better from Stone, but, then again, I would have expected worse from a gluten-reduced beer.

Stone Mocha IPA
Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home after a nice run. Stone does it again! Appearance is a dark amber with a rich white head. Aroma is a very interesting mixture of coffee, cocoa, and grassy hops, smells darker than it looks. Taste is unique and very good, rich but not sweet, lightly dry, light cocoa notes, lightly bitter, overall good and interesting.

Double Bastard Ale
2014 bottle. Appearance- ruby red, dark brown tinges, a one finger thick beige head which clings. Aroma is loads of malt, caramel, toast, honey, cereal, cherries, sultana, cherry brandy, vinous hints, caramel malt. Smells big. Taste- full and coating in the mouth, bitter hop background, lots of caramel and toffee malt, biscuit, cherry and raisin, quite a boozy finish, red wine, cherry liqueur. Long sticky finish, quite sweet by the end. Very good stuff.

Stone Spröcket Bier
Pours black with a cappuccino coloured foamy head. A nutty, earthy aroma much like a dunke with hints of vanilla. Much like the aroma it’s very nutty and earthy with plenty of roasted malt in there too. A canny brew but perhaps I should have planned to share this bottle.

Stone Citrusy Wit
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy pale yellow color with a billowing enormous foamy white head that lingered forever and left decent lacing. The aroma was tart, musty and yeasty with a lemon and lime presence. The flavor was semi sweet and yeasty with lemon, lime and a musty undertone. Medium length finish. Medium body. Decent.

Stone Pataskala Red X IPA
Bottle from Stone in Asagaya. Pours a clear deep amber with a finger or so of head that dissipates quickly. Toasted toffee malt dominates with orange marmalade and piney hops. Chewy and malty and feels boozier than 7.3...deep double IPA territory on the palate. Boozy with a marmalade jamminess to it. Sweet at first then the rush of bitterness on the end. Classic Stone I suppose.

Stone Old Guardian (Vintages 2004 and later)
On tap at Craft Beer Base, Osaka. Pours nice deeper mahogany, smooth carbonation and long lasting head. Aroma is as sweet as freshly cooked strawberry jam. Caramelized sugar and berry sweetness. Taste is also full of caramel flavours, strong malty backbone, tasting as I expect a good barley wine to taste. Yet, it has some hoppy feel to it at the end, Stone is being Stone and has hopped this massively. Long bitter linger is going to remind me this lunch-time half-pint probably for quite a long.

Stone Enjoy By IPA - Tangerine
bottle. Golden with one finger head. Strong hoppy citrus aroma. There’s no disputing this is an excellent DIPA, but I can’t say that it seems much different at all from the standard Enjoy by. If I wasn’t searching for the tangerine, I’d totally miss it.

This beer was horrible. I was expecting something vaguely like Sculpin or Firestone Union/Easy Jack. Instead I got an extremely foul tasting beer. Perhaps like someone put in an industrial solvent or detergent. Honestly, it tasted like the beer had been adulterated with something unintended. In 50 years of beer drinking, this was by far the worst beer I’ve ever had.

Stone Enjoy After Brett IPA
Corked bottle; "Enjoy After 01.04.16"
Hazy blond color, large fluffy head. The aroma is strong, it has a lot of spicy yeast, a bit funky, a bit woody. Lively carbonated; it has some of the strongest Brett, funky flavors around, with a woody and astringent final.
It was interesting to compare to the 8Wired Wireless IPA, which is more elegant.
Quite brutal.

Arrogant Bastard Ale
Bottle. Sensoric. Dirty brown with medium, light brown head. Medicare head retention and lacing. Caramel and spicy aromas with some strong, dirty citrus and piney character, also some tea-like aromas. Taste is very bitter from the beginning (strong grapefruit involvement), pretty shitty and dirty bitterness. Zero neither tropical fruits nor floral accents. Medium body, creamy/oily texture, average carbonation, finish is bitter, bitter and bitter. In general hard to say, but this beer will devastate your tongue with high bitterness. In my opinion this one is not in my top ten, but interesting.

Stone 20th Anniversary Encore Series: 6th Anniversary Porter
On tap at Bailey’s, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a lot of tart vinous notes, a little perfume and some peated malt - strange nose. Flavour reveals a ton of peated malt upfront - mixed with the barrels, it gives off a weird perfumey, varnish-like quality which isn’t pleasing. Some stale coffee grounds as well. I’m surprised at the high ratings for this; either that, or this keg is off. Not a fan.

Stone Mocha IPA
On tap at Belmont Station, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is odd, with notes of cocoa, coffee and piney hops in a weird mesh. Flavour is very sweet, with a maple syrupy type of sweetness upfront, followed by coffee, and resinous hops. Rather sweet for me, almost to the point of cloying. Not really a fan of this but it’s a fun one.

Stone IPA (India Pale Ale)
My absolute go to IPA. Bottled 6/13/16. Clear gold pour, delightfully retaining head. Nose is delicately tropical, ripe citrus, pine resin, and floral, and bready malt all in a beautifully balanced amount. Flavor is ripe papaya, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pastel lemon, whiteflowers, solid dose of back-end pine resin. This beer covers all the bases. It has never failed me in all these years. Cheers to this masterpiece, and to all who are enjoying it!

Stone RuinTen Triple IPA
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin), with notes of alcohol, onion, chemicals. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, watery/velvety/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, heavily alcoholic. Rather dull aroma doesn’t really say much (and this is assuredly fresh as it just arrived on shelves in the last week or two), surprisingly...and what’s there is tainted with oniony and chemical-ish odors. Not attractive, and hopheads will likely be disappointed by the relative lack of hop bouquet. In the mouth it’s about what you’d expect from a mediocre DIPA...unpleasantly acidic and harshly bitter. While not completely out of character for the style, it’s not a good example by anyone’s definition.

Stone Enjoy By IPA
Bottle (07.04.16 version). Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, grass, apricot, resin), with notes of alcohol, cotton candy, and plastic. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic. A rather plastic and candyish nose brings down the hop allure (which are mostly attractive albeit fairly raw/green as well), and in the mouth it’s rather acidic and harsh. A relatively average, somewhat clunky DIPA.
