Stone 20th Anniversary Citracado IPA
Draft: Rosehip, marigold, grapefruit bouquet. Clear copper, medium head, good lacing. Grapefruit, lillies, marigold, green leaves. Full body, easy carbonation, fully bitter. Probably too bitter for some, very un-West coast, good.

Stone 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Still Unapologetic IPA
On tap at Hops & Pie. Clear, medium gold appearance with an off-white head and light lacing. Aroma of resinous hops, pine, light citrus zest and light toasted grain. Similar flavor, adding heavy hop bitterness and mild malt sweetness. Medium plus body with a light dry feel and a lingering hoppy finish. Not bad overall.

Stone 20th Anniversary Citracado IPA
Bottle. Pours a clear light brown with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits, alcohol, caramel malt. Flavor of citrus, bitter orange peel, booze, rich caramel malt. A little heavy with some sweetness from the alcohol. Not my favorite Stone IIPA, as it is a bit malty and heavy, but still a good beer. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Stone 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Still Unapologetic IPA
651 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, off white, well retained head, with slight lacing, over a clear, dark gold (SRM 6) body......nose is pine, resin, citrus with grapefruit tones, slight allium, mild toasted malts, balance to the hops......taste is mildly sweet, with floral honey tones, light toasted malts, with mild biscuit, cracker, then pine, resin, tropical fruits with melon mango notes, mild allium, finishing with moderate lingering hop bitterness, balance greatly to the hops.......mouth feel, medium body, moderate alcohol, high carbonation, with moderate creaminess. This is quite similar to the new style of IPA and I/DIPA. The malts are relatively muted, and the hops are allowed to run wild in both aroma and flavor. The three hops chosen cover the spectrum of both aroma and flavor quite nicely, with only a moderate finishing bitterness. A bit more caramel/crystal malt character would be interesting, just to get the variation this might introduce on top of the new style hops. BJCP 9/3/15/5/8

Stone 20th Anniversary Citracado IPA
Pours deep amber into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Caramel and resin aromas. Sweet mango, honey and dark caramel upfront turning hot before the lasting pine and resin finish. Well balanced if not leaning a little too sweet.

Stone IPA (India Pale Ale)
655ml bottle with "enjoy by" date of 22/12/16. Great to finally see this beer legitimately imported to Australia (via cold storage at the insistence of brewery). Pours clear gold with a substantial dense white head that laces nicely. Packed full of musty dry piney resinous hops on the nose with notes of freshly cracked pepper and stone fruits. Malt profile is subdued on the tongue with those palate scraping hops dominating the flavour before a substantial dry lingering bitterness. Lighter bodied than the ABV would indicate with an average carbonation and oily texture. Has now rather been superceded by numerous imitations including various DIPAs which dial up the hops even more, but respect is due! The original US West Coast IPA and pretty much deserves its iconic status.

Stone 20th Anniversary Citracado IPA
Sampled on 8/30/2016. This Imperial IPA pours a dark orange amber color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is tropical and citrusy, with some nice sweet malts, but this beer is loaded with hops. Medium to full bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are tropical and citrusy, some pine and earthy hops as well. Nice carbonation. Lots of malt sweetness and a whole lotta hops, a whole lotta hops. Nice balanced. Big, bold IPA, but very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is bitter.

Stone 15th Anniversary Escondidian Imperial Black IPA - Espresso Beans
Expected black brew with a dark brown head.. doesn’t stick around for long.. Nose is more black malt than coffee.. a little bit of bean is there, but is underwhelming. Flavor has more coffee... decent hoppiness is there... some citrus and background pine.. but the roasty malt helps carry the beans more on the palate... could use a bit more malty sweetness to really deliver... The coffee does not really add a whole lot. Good brew, but I had more fun with the first incarnation.

Stone Cali-Belgique IPA (Cali-België)
Bottle pours a clear gold with a foamy sand head and abundant lacing. Smells of lemon citrus and Belgian yeast. The yeast brings out too much citrus flavor for me. The aftertaste reminds me of the scent of lemon dishwashing liquid with aspirin. Some stuff to like, some to dislike.

Stone 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Still Unapologetic IPA
Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a clear, medium-light amber color with a large foamy-creamy white head that had very good retention, cling, and lacing. Its aroma featured strong citrus and pine hops scents, along with some floral hops, and light notes of herbs and spice. The taste was mostly bitter, and quite good and crisp, with predominantly citrus and pine notes and a very slight sour effect. It had a fairly thick body with a mostly dry character, but also a bit of wetness and good carbonation. Definitely a standout beer!

Stone 20th Anniversary Citracado IPA
bottle, rating #4,000 - Pours deep copper with a lingering light tan head. The aroma is bursting with both citrus and tropical fruit and quickly makes it clear that this beer is loaded with hops. The flavor is of bold, crisp hops bitterness. Citrus and tropical fruit flavors abound and hops bitterness coats the mouth. A solid malt backbone and honey give it some sweetness and plenty of body as it leads into a long, bitter hops finish. Superb beer. Of the many excellent Stone IIPAs I’ve tried over the years, I think this one just might be the best.

Draft at the Kettner store. Clear brown and amber color with just a khaki ring aound the edges. I’ve got to keep scheduling CA trips to tick off these Stone anniversary brews. Aroma is dank hops that border on being nasally offensive like B.O. Nice flavor though with a slightly sweet base balancing the hop bitterness. Nice.

Bottle. A- Cloves, coriander, citrus, wheat. A- Golden yellow color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Cloves, coriander, lime, orange, wheat. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish. O- I figured this being Stone it would somehow be bitter and aggressive. Not so. Instead they go full force with the spices. The cloves are almost too strong and overpower the beer. Good beer but not very balanced.

$8.99 bomber from Wine Warehouse. Pours amber-red with a large, soft beige-orange head. Heavy hop aroma: lots of citrus, pine, minor weed, flowers. Flavor is very solid! Draft to taster at The Pint Room. Looks solid; a transparent deeper orange with foamy off-white head that slowly but steadily dissipates into lacing. Smell: Strong citrus mainly grapefruit, hmm no coffee..? Taste: again citrus mainly grapefruit, erm bout cocoa coffee...? Maybe a hint? soft carbonation and alcoho blended very well~ Finish: IPA bitter.. coffee and chocolate bitter? Dont think so. Personally can get the coffee taste while some said its strong.. maybe i was expecting stout like coffee taste? Basically a slightly water down Ruination and less bitter.. I like the ruination~ so 3.6? NOTE: maybe should try it again next time, as i just drank a cup of coffee and maybe the coffee aftertaste overpowered the Mocha IPA?

Stone 20th Anniversary Citracado IPA
Clear brilliant slightly deep amber under a medium foamy ivory head. Lovely aroma of orange zest+rind, beautiful floral hops, and a wee touch of honey sweetness under that floral tone. Beautiful floral and orangey flavor that’s hoppy but not bitter, not all that boozy and doesn’t taste 9% ABV in the slightest. Crisp, mellow citrus, lovely floral resins and a crisp light piney finish on a pale and copper malt body. Really lovely, albeit slightly straightforward. But not straightforward in a boring way, straightforward as in "damn good American DIPA"
