Kind of a medium brownish copper body. A grassy cranberry on the nose. some sweet honey. Taste is tart cranberry, lemongrass, soft honey notes. Ends smooth and a little bit juicy. I'd prefer more mead character but it's still a very nice sweet drink.

Campbell's Gold Metheglin Pear-A-Dize
Light peach body. Sweet pear and cinnamon, very sugary aroma but still quite nice. Taste is a very sugary cinnamon, pear notes, soft honey maybe. Quite dessert-ish, would work well in that respect for an after dinner liqueur.

Light gold colour. Nice sweet currant, a bit of honey, just hints of marzipan that work really well. Taste is nice currant, soft woody honey, ending a little thin and a bit boozy. A little janky, but okay.

Medium red body. Nice sweet berry aroma, more sugary than expected, must be the honey. Taste is soft berry, vague woody honey, ends smooth with nice lingering sweetness. Okay but a little more boldness would work wonders.

Deep ruby purple body. Kind of a grassy black currant aroma, could be the honey tempering the sweetness. Taste is a narrow black currant, soft honey notes, ending with a very nice sweetness but just a little too thin. Still quite enjoyable.

Carbonated, pours a light yellow with some okay foam. Musty apple on the nose, maybe some soft honey sweetness, quite nice. Taste is honey forward, marzipan notes, quince sharpness to help round it out. A nice balance, both elements working well together.

Slightly hazy medium gold body. Sweet honey and sweet grapes on the nose. Taste is bitter grapes, juiciness, and little mead character. Sweet for sure, with some bitterness and the two elements aren't working very well together.

375ml bottle @ Alex's. Pours a copper orange colour with no head. Nose is rich honey, alcohol, and a hint of cherries. Flavour is mild sweet honey with a prominent boozy character is a subtle cherry aspect. Medium bodied, no carbonation, and a moderately high sweetness. It's OK, though I wish there was more of a cherry influence.

375mL bottle, pours a clear pale golden blonde. Aroma is intense on the plums, with plenty of honey, and some floral blossoms. Flavour is thick and syrupy, with lots of plum, sweet wildflower honey, and a little acidity. Thick, syrupy and nicely expressive on the plums. One of the better Campbell's products. Very good.

Gold, no head. Sticky honeyish with a bit of plum. On the palate, it's some plum, a bit of honey, but it seems to have started a little added fermentation because it's got a touch of carbonation, and seems a bit wonky.

Campbell's Gold Melomel Out of Eden
Has a fairly dark golden-brown colour. The aroma is rich, with a lot of caramelized sugar. The apricot, to the extent it was there in the first place, seems to be absent from the aroma now, after whatever number of years this spent in an half-empty bottle in the back of the fridge. Very sweet, like rich and yummy dark honeys but also sort of one-dimensional. Some alcoholic heat, and maybe a touch of wood, but mostly this is a rich sugar bomb, and again the fruit seems gone now. My sweet tooth does appreciate this.

2015 vintage. 50mL dink bottle, pours a clear golden blonde. Aroma brings out the apricots and honey in good cohesion upfront, with light acidity and moderate sweetness. Flavour is medium sweet, with treacly honey upfront, very feint / subdued apricots, alcohol and a subtle tartness underneath. Quite a lot of heat, but it works well. Warming on the palate. Nice.

Gold. Not leaving a lot of legs. Kind of a toasty honey character. Mostly sweet, with a nice toasty honey note. Just a little apple accent on the palate, and this also lends a little bit of juicy acidity to the finish. Definitely more mead than cyser, but the fruit works pretty well. The base mead isn't anything special, but it's all good.

(2015 Limited Edition.
