AleWerks Superb IPA
12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA (bottled May 12, 2016). Hazy yellowish-orange pour with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, tangerine, and mango. Taste of grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and light caramel malt. Moderate lingering bitterness. I don’t know that I would go so far as to call this superb, and I’m not sure what "ambitiously brewed" means, but this is a very good IPA.

Bottle, grabbed by Walt and ferried by Neil - networks are great :). Shared in a hotel lobby in Laurel, MD. Pours quite hazy golden orange, medium creamy off-white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is tropical, juicy, passionfruit, pine and perfume. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, juicy and dank. Medium body. Solid effort, but not amazing.

AleWerks Brewmasters Reserve Bourbon Barrel Porter
Bottle share. Dark brown pour with a modest beige cap. Aroma is rich with bourbon barrel notes, sweet vanilla and fudge. A bit boozy. Big flavors of sweet vanilla and chocolate accented heavily by the barrel treatment. Lightly bittersweet, but mostly sweet. Definitely feels like a big boozy desert beer.

AleWerks Brewmasters Reserve Bourbon Barrel Porter
22oz bottle from share on 6/11/16. Dark brown, muddy pour capped off with a small beige, tight head. Barrel aging takes center stage in aroma and taste.Bourbon really brings out the smoky, chocolaty nature of the porter. Really knocked my socks off.

Cask pour at the brewery taproom, very similar to the original drake tail. Unfiltered, cloudier than normal, pine, resin, floral, barely any Cinammon. Exactly like the original without any carb. Not bad, but couldnt get the cinammon, didn’t meet expectations.

AleWerks Brewer’s Choice Rapadou Porter
Pours very dark brown without much foam. The unrefined Haitian sugar is strong on the presence, and has a caramel/molasses quality. It’s there on the flavor, too, along with really rich, dark malts. Pecan and brown sugar notes, a little bit of cloves. Really very good.

AleWerks Brewmasters Reserve Springhouse Ale (2010-)
Super solid Saison from Alewerks. Aroma is lemon, clove, banana and bready. Very zesty aroma. Smells delicious. Taste is actually pretty juicy. Lots of lemon and breadiness. It’s spicy, zesty and dry. Overall, it’s a super drinkable, delicious saison. Alewerks makes awesome beers and this is another one in the line of them. It’s really simple and I think that’s what makes it even better. Cheers!
