DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus! 3.2
Sampled in a glass, poured from a bottle, this beer had a dark brown (almost black) pour and gave a small, thin cover of light tan and off-white bubbles, it left some nice spots of lacing, the nose had peanut butter, dark toasted malt and a little roasted malt, some caramel, chocolate and light coffee, brown sugar and faint molasses, as the beer warmed up, I notice a green bean and/or green coffee note? the flavors were toasted malt with a little roasted malt notes, toasted grain, coffee, and a bit of chocolate with caramel, brown sugar and faint molasses, the peanut butter was in the background, the finish had a little roasted malt bitterness, the malt bitterness lingered with roasted malt and coffee trailing, there was a hint of green bean and/or green coffee note, the mouth feel was light medium, it was a little creamy and had average carbonation, the presentation was weak, small head and it receded to almost nothing, but it was ok when I swirled the glass, the peanut butter and porter mixed pretty well, the nose was nice, but as the beer warmed up, a green coffee, green bean note appeared, the peanut butter was very much in the background of the flavor, and there was a faint green coffee, green bean like note, get rid of the green bean and/or green coffee note in this beer and it would be a better drink.

DuClaw Dirty Little Freak 3.4
12oz brown bottle. Medium brown colour, a bit unclear, small beige cap with light lacing. Nose has chocolate sauce, caramel and coconut. Taste has chocolate, cocoa and coconut, late bitterness. Medium bodied, bit of a carbonation bite. Ok, a bit too candy-like and artificial chocolate notes.

DuClaw Funk (2013 - ) 2.8
Bottle. Blueberry syrup and light malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Mildly sweet blueberry, light toffee malt, and very lightly bitter straw flavor. Body on the light side. A basic fruit beer - no off flavors but otherwise pretty boring.

DuClaw Quick Start My Heart 3.4
$1.95 bottle from Wine Warehouse. Pours black with a red-tinted brown head. Deep aroma of dark chocolates and strawberry jam. Smells slightly candied. Taste is chocolate covered strawberries. Iím actually pleasantly surprised by this one. Iím not a fan of DuClaw usually - I feel their beers taste syrupy sweet and artificial. This one, though slight candied, is not too sweet, and I wouldnít immediately be able to say this was a DuClaw brew right away (which is a plus!).

DuClaw For Peteís Sake! 2.2
Bot. Oh yea, this smells like mean peanut buttah. Mean roasted honey bar nuts. Look is thick black used engine oil. Taste is peanut butter imperial stout. Massively repulsive and thick yet cannot turn my attention away. Each swig leans me more into that range of oblivion. Same with finish, its smooth and slick, what else can be said you big kick my ass beer. Go mix a jar of peanut butter with some hot used harley shovelhead engine oil and then youíll know where Iím cominí from. Difficult.

DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus! 3.4
Poured into a shaker showing big thick black with lightly translucent rims and a finger of latte colored foam. The nose shows just as it says - alot of milk chocolate and peanut butter. The palate is moderately carbonated and medium bodied. A bit heavy for a porter a little close to a basic stout. Flavors of peanut butter lay in the background but nice roasted malt notes throughout take center stage. The finish shows the same roasted malts with a hint of chocolate. Overall, pretty well done.

DuClaw Neon Gypsy 4.1
Neon Gypsy has a thick, off-white head, an amber-copper color, lots of tan chunks throughout, and fairly heavy lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is of spicy malt, some citrus, some caramel, and hop resin. Taste is of sweet, white bread, white bread crust, peppery rye, strong, yet, not harsh, piney hop bitterness, and shades of grapefruit and citrus. Mouthfeel is high medium and sticky, and Neon Gypsy finishes dry and puckering. A full-flavored, but pleasant ale. RJT

If you were expecting Strawberry Qwik, you were mistaken. Sweet smelling but not too syrupy. DuClaw can be heavy on the syrup in their beers and the one time they needed it, they didnít do it. Very hoppy taste. Bitter. Hardly a thought of strawberry. Very disappointing. Bottle.

DuClaw For Peteís Sake! 3.8
12 oz bottle with no visible date, served in a Belgian snifter. Appearance: It has a small, weak, light brown head over a nearly black body. Little lacing. Aroma: Strong, appealing aroma of roasted peanuts. Hints of dark fruits and black bread. Taste: lots of roasted peanut flavor, with some nuances. Dark roasted malts come out in the finish and aftertaste. Mouthfeel: semi-smooth, medium body; light-medium carbonation. Overall: a very good peanut butter porter with a particularly fine aroma and a robust flavor.

Bottle pour opaque black with moderate mocha head that rapidly dissipates . Nose chocolate covered strawberry. Fairly big strawberry on the nose, powdered coco. Taste chocolate, roasted malt, bitter chocolate. Strawberry more on the aftertaste. I expected more flavor of fruit given the nose.

DuClaw Dirty Little Freak 3.3
12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Greenville, South Carolina.

Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body topped off with a light beige-colored head. Some ruby showing at the edges.

Smell: Coconut chiefly on the nose but also some supporting roasted grains and low-grade chocolate.

Taste: Roasty with a middling sense of basic chocolatiness and underpinning of earthy nuttiness. Moderate coconut flavor. Restrained sweetness present. Minimal hop character. Slight little metallic twang nearing the finish with a bit of lingering darkened grain.

Mouthfeel: Falls just shy of medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Iíve dug my fair share of coconut beers. This, however, wasnít one of them as it just fell a bit short for me with the flavors not really harmonizing.

DuClaw Dirty Little Freak 3.2
Clear brown colour. Almost no foam Aroma is really coconuty, dark malts, toffee, raisins, and biscuity. Sweet. Flavour: very biscuity, quite malty, some hops comes through, nice balance of hops and malt. Quite bitter, with some herbal notes. Toffee/caramel is also pronounced and the coconut flavour is quite prominent. Nicely balanced beer, coconut is a bit too extreme for me.

DuClaw El Kabong 3.4
12oz bottle, bottled on 2/232/16,.poured intolager glass. Pours copper in color with a subtle haze; fluffy light tan head that slowly fades and leaves stick, patterned lacing. Aroma: peppers, subtle apricot, and faint caramel malts. Flavor: better and more balanced than the aroma indicates. Excellent balance between the apricots and chilies, with neither so strong as to completely mask the malts. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Mild chili heat that works well. Overall: Part fruit beer, part amber ale, part chili beer: despite what the aroma suggests, the apricots and chilies blend very well together. Worth seeking out if you like spicy beers.

DuClaw Quick Start My Heart 3.1
Bottle PKG 01/29/16. Nose light chocolate and roast. Pours deep dark brown with a sudsy light brown head. Taste surprisingly (!) strongly bitter with very little sweetness there are very minor hints of strawberry there around the margins but I wouldnít have guessed if I hadnít known. I like the darker profile of the stout, a bit of hard bop without too much scorch, thereís a fine line of hard acridity and wasteland without the ash. Fullish body is also stiffer and less forgiving, not velvety as expected. Strawberry more evident with time, temperature, and long draughts; by the end of the 12th ounce, it has established itself as a major player. Clean, almost no alcohol intrusion other than the heft. Iíd say worth the one-off, but doesnít work quite as well as blueberry or raspberry, and I think upping the chocolate would help. [2016.04.12: 3.1]

DuClaw Double Naked Fish 3.2
12 oz bottle; bottled on 28 Dec. 2015. Faint dark malts, sweet chocolate and vegetative aromas with more prominent raspberry aroma. Flavor: Quite a bit of raspberry and chocolate but not so much as to be objectionable or to entirely mask the dark malts. The level of raspberry clearly exceeds the other components. Still some faint vegetative notes but better than the aroma suggests. Mildly sweet bitter-sweet mix.

12 oz. bottle, pours a dark reddish brown with a small off-white head. Nose brings out lots of chocolate and vanilla beans upfront, followed by shitloads of coconut. Flavour is very dessert-like, with lots of coconut dominating upfront, followed by cocoa and caramel. The coconut steals the show. A fun novelty beer.
