Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, grain, husks), lightly hoppy (grapefruit), with a note of diacetyl. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Quite clunky; not much hop aroma, rough malt and butter too. Rather sour and dirty in the mouth. No fun at all.

DuClaw Sour Me This
Decent sour beer. Aroma was alright. Smelled sour with notes of lemons and other citrus fruits. Pour was a hazy light gold with a one finger white head. Taste was better than the aroma. A little weird and thin but good. Melon and Sweet Tarts with a hint of rose in the front. A little sweet there, but mid sip and after the swallow the mouth is washed with sour lemon and fruitiness. Very complex. Great strong cheek biting carbonation.

DuClaw Foundation Series #3: German Pilsner
Delicious pilsener. Aroma was ok. Grainy with some light hops and malt. Pour was a clear light gold with a one finger head. Taste was very nice considering the low ABV. Light sticky malt with notes of cereal and grass. Noble hops gave a decent bitterness that didn’t quite balance the beer but came close. Wet slightly hoppy finish. Nice strong biting carbonation.

DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus!
12 ounce bottle, unfortunately the date stamp on the bottle is smudged so I have no idea what it says. This bottle was a gift from a friend of mine and I’m sure he gave me this at least a couple months ago. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention is decent, and there isn’t much lacing at all. I like the aroma, the brew smells like peanut butter, chocolate and roasted malt. Really, it smells like a Reese’s Cup. I think the taste is just like the aroma, it mostly tastes like a Reese’s Cup and some roasted malt. It’s sweet with a decent amount of bitterness. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s smooth, easy to drink and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good brew, I know I’d like to try this again in the future.

Draft at The Irish Pol. Hazy amber pour. Lots of egg-shell foam. Some mild blueberry syrup in the nose. Fairly full body with toasted wheat malts and enough hop bite to mute the sweetness. Balanced but pretty sure no actually blueberries were hurt in the manufacturing of this brew.

It pours deep amber and orange with an off white moderate head. It has aromas of grapefruit, citrus, and alcohol. It has flavors of citrus, grapefruit, floral elements, spice, and alcohol. It is highly bitter with a moderate body. The bitterness is long lasting. The alcohol is slightly sharp with plenty of warming. Overall, it has a complex blend of citrus flavors but is a bit sharp on the palate, but is good.

appearance: clear light straw, soapy white head, average lacing. aroma: tart fruit, with lots of citrus, white wine vinegar, and apple. taste: juicy citrus sweetness balanced by a tart funk and a bit of musty yeast. finish: lingering sweet tart fruit notes with slowly fading funk and cracker notes. notes: This is a surprisingly nuanced sour for the folks behind Sweet Baby Jesus and For Pete’s Sake. Nice. Bottle courtesy of Zoltan from Gilly’s in Rockville.

DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus!
Data rozlewu: 04.05.2016
Kolor: Brązowy, klarowny.
Piana: Drobnopęcherzykowa, kremowa, dość puszysta. Po kilku łykach opada do wąskiej otoczki. Na ściankach śladowe pozostałości. Umiarkowany czas pozostaje nad piwem.
Zapach: Aromat potężnie czekoladowy! Lody czekoladowe, cisteczka brownie, muffinki z cząstkami czekolady. Woń jest tak przenikliwa, że zakrawa chwilami o nienaturalność. Tutaj na myśl od razu przychodzi mi piwo Noa Pecan Mud Cake Double Barrel z Omnipollo. W oddali orzeszki ziemne i szczypta wanilii. Cudo! Aromat 10/10!!!
Słodycz czekoladową łagodzi i kontruje delikatna słona nuta orzeszków ziemnych. Dalikatna paloność ciemnych słodów, minimalna kawa i odrobina wanilii. Początek słodszy, ale finisz już półwytrawny. Goryczka średnia, bardzo przyjemna. Pełne ciało. Słone poszczypywanie w język. Przepyszne piwo!
Wysycenie: Niskie.
Podsumownie:
Doskonale teraz rozumiem nazwę tego piwa. Zaraz po pierwszym łyku miałem ochotę krzyknąć: "Sweet Baby Jesus!". Perfekcyjny porter w każdym calu. Browar DuClaw Brewing Co. z Boltimore w stanie Maryland skradł moje serce tym porterem. Aromat zmiażdżył intensywnością czekolady i masła orzechowego moje nozdrza. Pełne ciało, doskonała pijalność i niezapomnianie wrażenia. Na długo pozostanie mi to piwo w pamięci. Wyjątkowe piwo na szczególną okazję.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a caramel-brown color with a medium sized foamy beige head that left great lacing. The aroma was sweet, malty and a bit toasty with a hint of hot pepper. The flavor was sweet and malty with notes of honey, yeast, nut and a moderate vague hot pepper presence. Long hot pepper finish. Moderately full bodied. Tasty.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber body with a minimal off-white head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is dominated by apricot fruitiness over a sweet caramel malt base. The flavor is dominated by the sweet caramel and apricot all the way up until the late finish, where the chilies emerge a bit. The more you have, the more the chile spiciness builds and lingers. It’s a pretty decent combination, which I didn’t especially expect. Light bodied but a bit clingy from the residual sweetness. Nice fizzy carbonation that seems to enhance the chile pepper. Decent beer for a single, but I don’t think I’d make a habit of drinking the on the regular.

Light dryness from hop/roast bitterness as well. medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. DuClaw For Pete’s Sake!
Petite bouteille.
