DuClaw Sour Me This
Bottle recently picked up at sline..pours a golden light orange color, minimal head..nose is ok with a cross between some dry apricot and that chalky aroma one gets when opening up a pack of smarties candy..initial sip has some juicy tangerine like feel with some prickliness, alright taste n mouthfeel, fruit essence seems to linger a bit longer than anticipated, slight sour action, light bodied, an ok take on the style, but glad I only picked up one because there isnít anything really top notch going on in this one..

DuClaw Neon Gypsy
12 oz bottle from Wegmans in Short Pump The ale poured a clear amber color with an off white head and plenty of lacing. A very nice IP with aromas of pine, other fruits and citrus. The taste has more pine resin and grapefruit. The ale has a medium body with average carbonation. Well timed assertive bitterness sweeps the taste buds, concluding with a clean, dry finish.

DuClaw Funk (2013 - )
Bottle. Pours a clear gold body with a thin and fizzy white head that vanished pretty quickly. The nose is quite fruity and juicy with a minimal malt impact. Smells pretty tasty actually. The flavor is a bit lacking though, itís very thin with just a light watery fruitiness. Extremely light bodied with fizzy fine carbonation. This could pass for a flavored seltzer, itís that thin. I guess itís good that itís not overly sweet and cloying, but there really needs to be more going on in here.

DuClaw 62 Imperial Pumpkin Ale
Packaged 7-26-16. Deep copper color with a red garnet touch. Big frothy beige head. Sweet nose with subtle spice notes. This avoids the obvious, over the top pie spice that seems to have become the norm for a seasonal pumpkin beer. The cinnamon and nutmeg are very present, but there is a deeper, richer maltiness behind it, and a real solid alcohol kick. This is a big beer in many respects.

DuClaw Quick Start My Heart
DATE: September 15, 2016... OCCASION: football Thursday with Shan... GLASSWARE: Guinness pint... jet black body, as expected... a brown creamy head settles to a half-finger... lacing sweeps with thick smears... chocolate merges with strawberry, with vanilla, and peat... the first sip is a rush of strength, with a liveliness at the throat and a grit throughout the tasting... full-bodied, reasonably drinkable... salty? a bit of brine, like an oyster stout... as the glass drains, no sign of lacing... the strawberry is slightly puckerish, the cocoa mellow, the overall experience doable... this is a stout that balances its food groups with a sweet confection... though I am not a fan of strawberries, I can appreciate this offering...

12 oz bottle into a lager glass. ABV listed as 6%. Clear deep copper-colored body with a good tan head that leaves a coat of lacing on the glass with each tip. This is a bitter-sweet, malt dominated . Very tasty with well hidden alcohol. Enough hops to equalize the bitter/sweet balance and impact some spicy hop notes. Mildly bitter finish. A bit bock-like. Medium body with medium carbonation.

DuClaw Quick Start My Heart
I bought this beer mostly out of curiosity, sorta expecting it to be awful, and it is not awful. It pours medium-dark brown with a creamy, crackly head. The aroma is an average sweet stout with artificial strawberry notes. Yes, it does remind me of Strawberry Quick. Thankfully, those notes are very muted in the flavor. This is just an average sweet stout with some coffee and mildly roasted malt character, and a hint of sugary strawberry candy.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, grain, husks), lightly hoppy (grapefruit), with a note of diacetyl. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Quite clunky; not much hop aroma, rough malt and butter too. Rather sour and dirty in the mouth. No fun at all.

Decent sour beer. Aroma was alright. Smelled sour with notes of lemons and other citrus fruits. Pour was a hazy light gold with a one finger white head. Taste was better than the aroma. A little weird and thin but good. Melon and Sweet Tarts with a hint of rose in the front. A little sweet there, but mid sip and after the swallow the mouth is washed with sour lemon and fruitiness. Very complex. Great strong cheek biting carbonation.

Delicious pilsener. Aroma was ok. Grainy with some light hops and malt. Pour was a clear light gold with a one finger head. Taste was very nice considering the low ABV. Light sticky malt with notes of cereal and grass. Noble hops gave a decent bitterness that didnít quite balance the beer but came close. Wet slightly hoppy finish. Nice strong biting carbonation.
