Hanze Magistraat
Sampled from tap at the brewpub at 12.5% abv. Clear, dark brown with a tan head. Sweetish, slightly yeasty-spicy aroma of caramel, brown sugar, raisins, licorice and blackcurrant. Sweet, slightly yeasty-spicy taste of caramel, brown sugar, some raisins, licorice and some blackcurrant, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice, but more a BSA than a Barleywine, reminds me a lot of coke as well.

Bij de brouwer op het terras. Biertje is amberkleurig met een bescheiden crème schuimkraag uit de geur kon ik niet veel halen. De smaak is echter mooi vol en kruidig en hoppig, met een aangename volle afdronk.

Brewed by the "stads brouwerij" of Zutphen city, Sjos is a pils slightly darker in color than usual. The taste nears a IPA imho, fresh and with a strong bitterness in the after taste.

Very nice looking brown red body with stable off white head. Lasting lacing. Aroma is very mild, caramel and dough, bit of berries, maybe. Taste is again totally different, quite expressive even. Starts fruity, forest berries and then twists into a dry hopped, classic bitterness and strawberry ending. Very odd, not sure if it suits me, but I strongly applaud the effort. Certainly interesting. Moderate alcohol, yet sticky. Hard to put numbers on this one. (30cl tap at the brewpub)

Almost clear darker copper golden body and bubbly off white head. Malty body, certainly full enough, with a small classic hop hint. Moderate bitterness, full mouth feel for the style. Drinks very well, dry aftertaste. Much better than expected. Nice. (On tap at the brewpub, which seems to be renamed into Cambrinus now, very original, sigh)
